I really needed to hear this - I don’t even think I’ve seen many of your videos and it was first in my feed- like the universe sent it to me this am. I left my office job and living off funds I saved. I’ve sold just a few paintings but I always feel funny saying I’m an artist for the same reasons you said. A lot of times I feel like my stuff isn’t good enough to post. I’m hoping to check out your class - thank you for sharing!! I really did need to hear this today!!

I’ve listened to you say this a lot but the bit that really hit home this time was when you said that if you create artwork, you are an artist and selling artwork is a separate skill. And I can relate to your conversation with your hairdresser too, I’ve done that so many times 😂 My perceptions on this started to change during your Painting With Confidence course (that’s pure gold)

"Artist" is such a loaded word. Really, we're all capable of creativity on some level. If you intend to call yourself an artist as a way of defining your occupation, you should derive your livelihood, income from art work, but if you're creating something, whatever the medium, you're an artist, it seems to me. Are you a salesman too? Selling your art work? Or are you just an artist?
