Thank you for talking about it!! My mother has been pressuring me to buy a car because i can afford it. But i actually want to find a way to make extra money before i buy a car. I am salary rich bcoz 50% of my income covers all the expenses but i know that if i were to buy a car or move to the city my disposable income will decrease dramatically and i will get caught in the cycle of not feeling like i make enough!!! Hopefully by december i can get my idea started!!!

Well done for resisting the pressure. When the time comes, you can also explore buying a used car which is in good condition or buying from an auction

I definitely got duped by the "Salary Rich" phase and I have been feeling the pressure since my expenses have gone up. I definitely learned from this video and see the need to unlearn unhealthy budgetless spending habits. 🙏🏾

I've been learning this on how to manage my money, 1. I cut my parents out from black tax and told them I shouldn't be their financial scapegoat from their debt orders they must find their own way to pay them off, 2 buying everything cash I need that I won't have to buy again in the next five years, 3 I'll start saving money proper next year but now I've given myself a timeline to buy everything cash from furniture to cellphone and my only debt should be my apartment.

I was thinking about a car the other day and I said no since I made the decision last year to take a bond. Even though I have an excess of R4000 monthly I still need to factor petrol and maintenance. So it doesn'take sense to me. So I would rather pay my debts first and save towards the deposit of a car. And it won't be a new car.

Lol I heard you saying that "an idling money is used money" and took everything to my emergency account after paying myself first of course. This video just made my to realize why sometimes I run back to the "emergency account" (which I become smart with it though. I am my own mashonisa. Should I take money out from that emergency account, I return it with an interest 😂) so I run back to the emergency account because I never think of the remaining three weeks before pay day. Damn! 🙆🏻♀️ Budget strategy needs to change. As always, thank you Nicolette for the insight 🤭💐

Would you recommend someone to pay off the baloon payment earlier (3 years b4 paying off the car) for example if you have some money saved enough to pay off the baloon
@khanyibango40982 жыл бұрын
This is a great question
@preciousprecious75812 жыл бұрын
Hi cc definitely consider that especially if you planning to keep your car and not trade in, I had all six years to plan what to do with balloon payment but didn't now iam done with installment n have to re-finance balloon which will come with interest and probably another 12months to pay. If you can afford you can also ask them to do a quote and spread the balloon amount to the remaining installments
@matsiemathobela14922 жыл бұрын
@@preciousprecious7581 I want to keep the car for years after ,so it only makes sense to pay the baloon now with the money I have since I don't have any projects planned for the money

I don't think its wise for you to encourage putting large deposits down on cars if you consider that it is a loss in your accumulated income and that a car is depreciating. Better appropriation of this rule may be to put a large deposit into a property because that way the money isn't lost. Just a thought.
@Ubepati Жыл бұрын
Not everyone is into property and not everyone is going to buy property some have already built their own homes. Also a deposit helps to lower your monthly installments which is the point to lower your debts.
