I like these videos/discussions.👍 Im Catholic but not confirmed married to a confirmed catholic. I've been on both sides; the Catholic religion and evangelical Christianity. I'll side with the Bible in my belief in God. The book of Revelations speaks about the 7 churches as well as other scriptures speak about different preachings. The scriptures also speak about separation from the world in our walk with Jesus...its not an easy road and not everyone walks the same walk in their salvation, but to me, as I read Catholic base literature it speaks just like the bible instructs us to and I sort of feel that most Catholics don't take it seriously and its probably going to be like one of the churches in revelations where not all are saved but only those who seriously walked with God. My Daily Bread and the Catholic deliverance book teach us much just like scriptures and I feel the Catholic church could be a strong church if they took it seriously. The walk with Jesus is nothing to take lightly. It seems like I turn off many of my Catholic brothers and sister with my manner of believing in Christ Jesus. Like I'm too serious. Complete surrender to Jesus just like a commitment of marriage. We won't change overnight but must grow in the word of God and mature. When we dwell in his word we begin to transform and our minds renewed beginning to recieve the fruits of the Spirit. We will have that peace Jesus speaks about, not the peace of this world but his. We are born again and what was old has become new and our bodies are the temple of God for he tells us to be Holy for he is Holy. I'm not into the many prayers but I do pray in my secret place at home. The Chaplet of Devine Mercy I find it powerful in my prayers in which I was praying for an hour and tried to pray several times a day. I was able to have a connection with God in which I could see him at work it was so beautiful. I don't have that time anymore because I care for my 26yr old son who had a stroke after a lower aorta dissection repair surgery 2.5yrs ago.(May 4, 2020) so I'm caring for him 24/7. Its demanding but I have the opportunity to care for him like a Mother Teresa. I have had some of the most rewarding times with him...he is a pure joy from Heaven which I feel the Lord is using him to change me as I carry this burden. Our afflictions will draw us closer to God and that what he wants us to do to give thanks in the good and the bad to bring out his goodness in all things. I surrendered to Jesus at a Catholic retreat in October 2019. The Holy Spirit touched me and I came home on fire. I didn't like to read much but I just started reading alot. I've read Still Amidst the Storm by Conner Gallagher, God's Healing Mercy by Kathleen Beckman, Mother Teresa, Amazon book, My Daily Bread, Into The Breach, , Spirit Warefare booklet, Bible daily, listen to many ministries on TBN, Catholic channel. Roman's 10: 8-13 speaks to us about salvation and in John Jesus ask that if we love him we will obey his teachings. Just as in other scriptures tells us how salvation is painful. Although Jesus came to save the world nothing is free. It cost God his only begotten son being tortured, shamed and spit at made fun of and we think we can have salvation and then step on him over and over again. I just feel too many Catholics just go to church going through the motions. Don't get me wrong there are some strong Catholic faith believing walking warriors as well as in other churches. For God did not come to condemn the world but so we may have salvation. The main thing is that Jesus says to believe in him, that he came down from heaven born of the Virgin Mary, he suffered, died and rose again on the third day, he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. We must repent in forgiveness of our sins (that's why he died, he became sin, our sin) give it all to him with a compunctual heart. Praying that everyone can open their heart to Jesus allowing him to enter your heart asking for forgiveness and willing to carry the cross, no turning back. Pray for me as well for I am also weak in the flesh.🙏🤲 I have many questions about the Catholic faith and plan to attend RCIA classes...pray for me.

@@hssbarro my son was born with a rare disorder (Marfans Syndrome) which was spontaneous. Doctors noticed his physical features at birth in which he had to be followed up by cardiologist since the condition mainly affects the heart and the aortas but unfortunately this condition affected his whole genetic makeup. He has had three open heart surgeries, eye surgery loosing vision to his right eye, scoliosis surgery, and lower, descending aorta dissection repair surgery in which he needed 17 units of blood causing the stroke in May of 2020. This last surgery where he suffered a stroke we were in the I guess like the initial phase of the pandemic in which there was still no vaccine. I was the only one from the family the hospital would allow to visit my son and the day of the surgery I was only allowed to be with him until just before they took him to surgery. I had to return home. My family and I waited at home as we received an ocassional call from a nurse letting us know ho the surgery was progressing. The last two calls we received after 2 AM were not sounding good. The morning after surgery I went in and as I entered the room the Neurologist had a monitor with many wires connected to my sons head. When I asked what were they checking for he replied "brain activity." He mentioned my son had no brain activity. At that point I wasn't understanding anything about his stroke. The surgeon later told me my son had suffered a stroke that he had been having seizure like activity. Like a day later another Neurologist was in the room and asked me if anyone had explained to me the brain scans of the stroke as he was looking at them on his computer. He explained to me that the way I see my son motionless with assisted breathing since he wasn't breathing on his own 100% that that would be his base and could probably recover some or go downhill. He said my son suffered a stroke to the whole left brain and part of the right front of the brain. They mentioned about giving my son two weeks to show improvement before us making a decision about continued hospitalization. I looked at the Neurologist and frankly told him that we believe in God that we were going to pray for him and let God give us that answer. I was on fire and everyday I would take my my Bible, anointing oil, rosary, and a coin of Pope John Paul that I had found somewhere years back. I would lay my Bible open on my son, anoint him with oil on his head, hands and feet, I then would put the Devine Mercy song on my phone, I would pray over my son as the Devine Mercy played, at time I would just follow with the rosay. I would asked God to heal my son just like he heald those he speaks about in the scriptures, that I believe as Martha believed and we want to see his Glory, to forgive me of my sins and release me from all grudges so that he may hear my prayer, my tears ran down as I cried out to God with a compunctual heart with all earnesty. I would call on God and tell him that I'm asking him in the name of Jesus of Nazareth like he tells us to that he tells us that even with the faith as small as a mustard seed we can move this mountain and that if it was his will to give me my son however he would give him to me that I would take care of him...today by the Grace of God I have my son and we give him all the Honor and Glory. 🤲 Every time my son would go to surgery I would promise God to follow him...after surgery I would forget...I was just using his goodness but He knew the plans he had for me and it came to fruition during the time I attended the retreat in October of 2019. It was my time. The theme for the retreat was a very positive one; Know Jesus Know Peace. The song selected was I want to be different by Micah Tyler. Today I know not about Jesus but know Jesus and as I dwell on him He has transformed me that people say I'm different 😊 all Honor and Glory to our Lord Jesus Christ...🤲 As far as the question about the vaccine. My son had not received the vaccine prior to the stroke. Today we have plus one booster. Many people question the vaccine but we leave it in God's hand as we trust in his will. We trust that our government is doing the right thing for our health and we pray for healing. If I truly walk in Jesus I should not fear anything but trust in God completely and there is nothing wrong with taking precautions or not taking the shot. There is evil in this world that will affect us but we have to be warriors like the Apostle Paul where God Grace is sufficient and to die in him is to live. God bless 🙏🤲

Great discussion, and I love the way that you discuss -- like regular people having a regular conversation, not like theologians, BUT... beyond asking a Protestant "what do you mean by salvation?" I didn't get a clear idea of what to say next. I know that we have to remain in a state of grace, but that didn't even come up. Do you suppose that you could do another video in which you do some role-playing between a Protestant and a Catholic over this question? You also might so give us some Bible verses to use, because a Protestant who asks someone "Are you saved?" is likely to have a bunch of verses at their fingertips. Thank you, and may Our Lady bring you, your families, and all your associates ever closer to herself and her Divine Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

One of the major reasons we are in this mess is due to something known as anti-clericalism... The gift of Grace was given to the Apostles in the upper room where Christ appeared and gave them (a participation in) the Holy Ghost and has been the great treasure of the Church for some 2000 years, bestowed upon humanity by priests who 'own' it, as it were. Pelagianism has crept in both Protestant denominations and 'liberal' Catholic circles to fill in the void left by a slandered and, thus, discredited clergy. What you are doing here is very important indeed... Thanks and God bless!

Some of my Christian friends say we were saved, are being saved, and will be saved. We were made in the image of a Triune God, body, soul, and spirit. Our spirits have been saved, our souls (mind, emotions, and wills) are being saved, and our bodies remade new, will be saved.

Can we say we are "Saved" by just accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior? No. This is what some Protestant sects teach, Baptists especially. This teaching excludes doing Good Works and essentially says that as long as we accept Jesus Christ, we can do anything we want to do. If this teaching were true, then what is the purpose of the Ten Commandments (Trent, session 6, chapter XI)? Why did Jesus Christ say, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of Heaven; BUT HE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER IN HEAVEN SHALL ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN." Matt 7:21. Now how can anyone DO the will of the Father without doing Good Works? Salvation is an on going process... We were saved in the past: Rom 5:1-2, 8:24, Eph 2:5-9. We are being saved now: 1Cor 1:18, 1Cor 15:2, Phil 2:12, Heb 10:14, 1Pet 1:8-9, 1Pet 2:1-2. We will be saved in the future: Matt 10:22, 24:13, Rom 6:16, 13:11, 1Cor 3:15, 5:5, Gal 2:17, Gal 5:4-5, Rev 21:6-7. We can also lose our salvation: Matt 6:14-15, *7:21, 24:44-51, 25:31-46, Mark 11:26, Luke 10:16, John 14:21, Rom 11:22, Rev 21:8, 21:27.

Bishops are not admonishing mortal sin. Have you been listening to Francis talk about how all religions are equal and atheists go to heaven. The heresies compound daily. “Take heed to yourselves, and to the whole flock, wherein the Holy Ghost hath placed you bishops, to rule the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. I know that, after my departure, ravening wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock. And of your own selves shall arise men speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, keeping in memory, that for three years I ceased not, with tears to admonish every one of you night and day. And now I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, who is able to build up, and to give an inheritance among all the sanctified. I have not coveted any man's silver, gold, or apparel, as You yourselves know: for such things as were needful for me and them that are with me, these hands have furnished. I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the word of the Lord Jesus, how he said: It is a more blessed thing to give, rather than to receive.” The Acts 20:28-35 DRC1752

Tithing is a choice, not an obligation. You don't have to give anything. The money goes into a community account which covers church heat/ac, ministries that help and feed the poor, paying rent, electrical, fixing what's broken, and other necessities. Every penny donated is going back to the community in some way. The clergy, priests, and nuns take a vow of poverty, they are not there for a salary, but because of their calling to serve sacramentally 24/7 in their parish community. As someone who volunteers within my parish Ive see first hand how the tithing has helped hundreds and hundreds of people.

Knowing the Bible is from your own conclusions, many Catholic go against that with protestants. The Bible is always changing from the discovery of many documents. Salvation has no reference to our knowledge of scripture. The Pharisees had authority of scripture they sat on the seat of Moses. Its Christ in you the resurrected Christ . Does a non Catholic see that in this guys testimony. I don't. No clarity because no revelation of he is risen.

How is infant baptism receiving the grace of God ?? If grace is ALL dependant upon God, no human influence !! Is it not the parents who make the DECISION for the child to be baptised ?? Explain to me how that is Grace according to your description (8min 40 sec onwards) in the video ?? ( John 3:3-8 ) speaks of being born of the spirit.. verse 8 speaks of the born again experience being like the wind, where nobody has influence or knows whether it is coming or going.. (John 1:12,13 ) speaks of Gods children being born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God !!! That is true grace !!! ( Eph 2:8,9 ) saved by grace through faith, not of yourselves, not a result of your decision, not a result of infant baptism, or you working for it.. ALL GOD !!! You believe & that's about all you can do, but even that belief comes from God !! (Heb 12:2 ) All I can hear is a very carnal explanation for something that is Spirit !! ( John 6:63 ) The word of God is spirit & life.. (1 Cor 2:14 ) speaks of the natural man ( man that hasn't been born again ) not receiving the things of God, nor can he know them because you must be born again of the Spirit of God ( HOLY SPIRIT ) to know the things of God !! (1 Cor 2:16 ) says we have the mind of Christ !! So what I'm saying is that to understand the things of God we must have the Holy Spirit of God inside us, that happens as described in ( John 3 ) not because of infant baptism starting us on the journey, its all because of the sovereignty of God, nothing to do within and of ourselves !!! You may call me protestant, but it's a shame that we have come to call the Bride of Christ a denomination, a church, a religion, instead of what Jesus intended for us to be.. A follower, a disciple of Jesus Christ, by his abundant grace alone !!! May God bless whoever reads with understanding.. Not preaching condemnation but love.. Praise Jesus

Catholic rite is deprived of actual emotion and genuine belief. Guilt and fear fill the spaces where joy and rejoice belong. Catholics stop frozen at Good Friday, by contrast protestants fast-forward all the way to Easter Sunday and stay there. The death of Jesus ''is because of us'' (catholics) versus ''in benefit of us'' (protestants). Good Friday is way more of an event than Resurrection Sunday. Even the cred states ''and resurrected from the dead 'according to the scriptures''' as if in doubt, as double guessing. Catholics die trembling in fear, protestants over--condident. You can say why atheists choose not to belief.
