I love you guys, but as someone who has bought the rayrays, they are not worth the price tag. Cheap plastic case that broke, got a ton of scratches very easily, and an absurd amt of bass to drown out the lack of sound dimension. Honestly just get the taotronics for 30 bucks, if youre not interested in super high quality sound but want affordable earbuds.

如月ぎ駅 / きさらぎ駅 / Kisaragi Station = is basicly station for the death and lost souls. Those who arrives there mostly in state of dying, depressed, or an issue/issues that demanded to be deal with. Old man (train passanger) is usually pictured as the One Who Can Help. Those who can escape Kisa-Eki or got home, they've dealt with the specific issue, forgiven, reallized something, helped/founded by someone who is close to them. Just an info, it's quite an urban legend here in Japan.

It's hilarious to see Shane doubt that this was a real 2chan thread because I was actually on 2chan, in this thread, while it was happening. It was in the earlier 2000s though, not 2010. Also in the original thread 'Hasumi' gets in the man's car, not on another train. They said they were going to tuck and roll out of his vehicle and run for it before disappearing. I always thought the experience itself was made up by the user, but it was still very haunting to read at the time! I haven't thought about it in years.. It's wild to see you do a video on it.
@whatthecaw
@whatthecaw 2 жыл бұрын
That makes this scarier for me because when they talked about trying to escape, I had been asking myself: “how would you escape on a train?” But being in a car makes more sense, and the idea that the man had offered her help with ill intentions freaks me out way more than the possibility she encountered something paranormal.

@whynothanks2047
@whynothanks2047 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t know how Japanese trains work, but on the subway where I live, the window to the conductor’s cart is a one-way window; they can see you, but you can’t see into their cart. If you’re having an emergency, you push the emergency alarm (as opposed to approaching the conductor directly…there really isn’t anything they can do for you except the same thing they would do if you pushed the emergency alarm). If the conductor himself is having an emergency, I don’t know what they do tbh lol
@meriwilliams1217
@meriwilliams1217 2 жыл бұрын
In most trains in Japan, they close the blinds behind the conductor when it’s dark outside (in tunnels, during nighttime etc ) so that the reflection from the inside of the train on the front window doesn’t distract them.
@angkarbasil
@angkarbasil Жыл бұрын
If the conductor had a stroke, the ARS or ALS of the train would bring the train to an emergency stop eventually. ARS (Automotic Regulation of Speed) driver would overspeed, cause an overspeed alarm, and be incapacitated so he wouldn't be able to clear the alarm, which would activate emergency brake ALS (Automotic Locomotive Signaling) driver would drive through a red signal, running over a tripper and causing an emergency stop

There’s a lot of stories and urban legends of haunted train stations and ghost trains in Japan! There’s even a manga called Dark Metro that has stories about it. :) This one sounds similar to a train for the dead. It appears like normal but none of the stops are ones you know and full of the dead. It’s taking you to the afterlife and there’s a 50/50 chance of you returning home. I went to Japan to visit relatives with my Mom, and we took the bullet train that goes from the main island of Honshu to Hokkaido, which passes under the sea of Japan. Just as we entered the tunnel to go under the sea, my Mom says, "A lot of people died making this tunnel. There was something wrong about the rocks and there were many cave ins. I don't know why I'm telling you this, but I thought you would like to know." No. I did not need to know that. Really ... no. I spent the entire time in the tunnel paranoid, counting the seconds between the flashes of the side access tunnels (?), so that just in case there was an accident or something I would know which direction we should go. Thank you, Mom!

I lived in Hamamatsu for 3 years and I’ve been on this train line. It’s about a 30-minute ride from Shin-Hamamatsu (in the center of the city) up to Nishi Kajima (more of a rural area) and then it turns around and goes back down to Shin-Hamamatsu. It’s only one straight line of about 20 stations total. And that’s it. It doesn’t branch off anywhere. And there are NO tunnels on that line. If what happened to Hasumi happened to me on that train, I’d be questioning my sanity because it’s too many things that are simply impossible. Especially the tunnel. So, yes, I would be scared. That being said, there are also some details to this story that make me quite certain it’s made up. So, no, I’m not scared.

This is the correct reading, yes. A lot of westerners tend to interpret things that bad things only happen to bad people and that can often be due to cultural and religious upbringing. It's...a problem. Now we can sit here and talk about storytelling and morality but... that takes to long. The tl;dr is that bad things can happen to good people and stories that come out of Asia tend to acknowledge this early on. We don't see these stories coming out of Europe (and history largely ignored African storytelling for centuries, thanks a lot history) for hundreds of years. So we've got a bias. Hasumi innocently falls into an unseen world where humans normally aren't allowed and doesn't return. She didn't do anything wrong. It's very Alice in Wonderland but with a sinister twist and since she stumbled upon it, now she can't leave. It's a lot like stories about fairies coming out of Ireland and Scotland. Play with the fairies at your own risk. They won't let you leave after a while. This took me a long time to understand cause yep, westerner. I had a lot of reading and growing to do. It's less "oh the devil gonna getcha!" and more of interfering with an unseen world. Even if you didn't mean it... you're gonna either get killed or kidnapped. That's how these forces work. Kisuragi Station DOES inspire some pop culture where they do involve morality stories. But... yokai gonna yokai. If they feel like tormenting you over cheating on your wife the can do whatever they want to scare you. That's less of the devil and more of "no rules, am supernatural being, gonna part my cheeks and shit on your chair."

This story is scary because, we all would like to think we would tackle a situation like this with logic and critical thinking. But... in reality emotions come over you like waves, that need to be out of danger and safe can take over. You can make THE most unintelligent and thoughtless choices in a state of panic. Getting lost and unable to figure out your location is terrifying, especially for the vulnerable. I do enjoy listening to these stories.

LOL, I had a similar but way less dramatic experience around the same time! I was at Pride in SF with a friend, and we decided to try pot brownies for the first time. And then because we were idiots, tried a second. We ended up tripping balls, and taking the wrong subway. While on the train, I became convinced that we had died and were going to hell. Once we figured out we were going the wrong way, we got out at a station that neither of us knew, that was dark and completely abandoned except for us, complete with a locked gate at the top of the stairs, so we couldn't get out. Creepy shit while sober, terrifying while high. We ended up making it back to the original station, then taking a cab downtown so we could take the BART out to my friend's parents' house. I didn't become convinced that we were still alive until we got off the train! But yeah, I've always felt a little odd about trains and subways ever since.

Someone said on an online forum that included the story that Kisaragi can mean February. 2004 was a leap year and you guessed it, February had an extra day. The person said that it’s quite possible that during these leap days people have a chance of being transported to the supposed “Devils Station”. Take this with a very big grain of salt because he nor I are Japanese. I got the translation from a website talking about the old Japanese calendar so I have no real idea of wether it is true or not. It’s an interesting take though.

I was once travelling for business to a new client, all dressed up in suit and what not, and I got off one station too early. It was on a hot summer day. The station where I got off was a small village with no taxis and nobody around (I only had a crap mobile phone back then with no Internet). I almost shat my pants in horror having to explain this mistake to my client who was fruitlessly waiting for my arrival. But eventually they came to pick me up by car and laughed at me. Trust me, it was much more terrifying than the Kisaragi station.

"I'm in an abandoned train station. What should I do?" "Go on the tracks." You know, train stations usually have a front door. Did you try that? If you need to leave, that seems a better option than the tracks.

Some train stations (especially rural ones in the middle of nowhere) are pretty much just exposed platforms with a little bit of shelter if you are lucky. Not a building.
