I agree--it is so cool that the book was found in a small thrift shop in Montana, and now it's going to London! Gives me goosebumps.

Good to know about the pocket in the Tilley hat. I once found someone’s weed stash in a cribbage board from Goodwill 🤣

I love the variety of items you sell. You reminded me I have a Smathers & Branson belt in my money pile. I didn’t recognize the flag and put it to the side to research and forgot all about it!

I started on Poshmark Friday and had my first sale on Saturday. I do the copy and paste method to list on multiple sites but if we continue building a reselling business we may consider a listing service.

Great update on the book and your sales on the different platforms. I have only ever done eBay but may take the Mercari Depop plunge

I suspect the belt may have been a tribute for a flower show winner. I was shocked when I saw a table of big trophy cups at a flower show in the late 1990's, I always thought they were awarded ribbons. Just my random thoughts about the belt...which certainly has a ton of work hours in it! Great result on the book, congratulations! Im so happy it was still at the store. I think Id have been awake and dressed all night after doing the research, in the car, waiting in the store parking lot at 8am for them to open. I admire your restraint, lol. I have to add...I've sewn that Geoffrey Beene pattern in the 90's and it was a wonderful jacket. Very fashion forward for it's time. So nice to see it, I've never found another one.

Hi Shannon watch you all the time and have written quick notes before.... wondered if I could get your advice. Just now today October 29th I had a customer receive a very beautiful vintage bamboo tiger lap tray. One of a kind honestly as it would seem. She wrote right away that it's beautiful but it's missing one nail and makes it hard for the one leg to stand. It is an incredibly simple design and I had zero idea there was a nail missing when I shipped it. Do not know how it happened. I reached back out immediately and said I'm sorry and asked if she could send photos of the missing nail to see how I could proceed. She sent blurry photos. I certainly think she's sincere but it would be incredibly easy for her to pick up a nail or perhaps a screw and put it in there to secure it. The shipping was fairly High and very difficult to pack as I made a box but shipped it very securely. My buyers pay shipping. The item had finally sold after being listed for a while and I did well on it. It's a bummer this is happening. Could you please let me know what you would do in this situation and maybe give me a couple of options? Greatly greatly appreciate you and Mr Pish Posh :-) thank you for all you do!

Okay so what I’d be inclined to do is ask again for better, clearer photos. If you can see what the issue is, what’s missing- offer to send a replacement nail, screw, whatever. Otherwise, they need to return for a full refund. What I won’t do is offer a partial refund which is something people sometimes fish for. If they’re sincere, they’ll accept the replacement nail…if not..they may not want the hassle of returning and will disappear, lol. If you feel a partial refund is the simplest thing for you, of course feel free to do that. But I wouldn’t do much.

Great advice! I've certainly heard resellers I listen to talk about partial refunds never being a good idea or just about never. Due to all of those that I've heard I'm going to avoid it as well. She is now writing me again even though it's only been a couple of hours and dinner time and asking me to reply so we can rectify the situation. That tells me she's looking for something for sure. I can tell you for certain if it were me and the buyer had replied as kindly and quickly as I did initially I would have said you know what please don't worry about it obviously I can put a nail in there. I will take your advice and continue and ask for clearer photos but I also wondered what you thought of me suggesting although I know it's a slight inconvenience to her, for her to add a nail to it? Good or bad idea???? I greatly greatly greatly appreciate your help as I truly respect the business you and your husband have built
@pishposhreselling2 ай бұрын
@@kristinnicholson9241 certainly in a tactful way you could suggest that. I just felt that offering to send what was “missing” is like a way to look proactive and showing good customer service. And not just asking them to handle it themselves. It’s like making the customer whole. But short of offering any money back. Does that make sense?
@kristinnicholson92412 ай бұрын
@pishposhreselling absolutely! And I fully agree with you. Talked to eBay as well. Bummed out if this turns out poorly especially since I'm such a small reseller and would be out something like $50 just for shipping back and forth since her shipping was high. Again, super appreciate your help and offered in my last message to her that she could return it as per my policy or that I could Supply some nails to send out to her. Haven't gotten to the thought of a partial refund yet but I feel like that's coming up in the mix at least from buyer - thank you so much for your time again Shannon! I will hope for the best here:-)
