I own a 2021 Honda DCT Tour. I'm 6'1", with a 32-inch inseam, and weigh 250 lbs. For long-distance trip leg comfort, I added the Goldstrike 3-way adjustable highway pegs. My next purchase will be the Tall Boy seat from Ultimate Seats.
@richthereturnrider67378 күн бұрын
Ok. The high way pegs makes a world of difference. The Tall Boy seat can only create more comfort. Thanks for chiming in.

6'4" 34" inseam. My 23 Wing Bagger DCT with Goldstrike highway pegs is the most comfortable bike I've ridden. Knees are about 1.5 " away from the fairing and further with the highway pegs. AT advanced age and limited right hip movement I get on by standing on the left rider peg and can swing over my route 1 bag and backrest no problem. I have to sit in an upright position so the Wing is great. I sold my Indian 26" high seat bagger because it killed my lower back on long rides despite floorboards and highway pegs. Ride what is comfortable!

6’4” here. I ended up with Indian Pursuit. The Goldwing was a strong option for me. I had just enough knee room. The leg room is a bit less too. But could work. In the end, my choice came down to these things coupled with the very large saddle bags. Clamshell cases just didn’t quite hold enough. But I won’t rule a Goldwing out for the future. I figure I can’t stop riding before owning at least 1!

The Pursuit is a great choice. All the bells and whistles. The luggage space is a big deal for most. Leg room is definitely plentiful. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Hey Rich as always good to hear your valid opinion… telling it like it should be told. I’m 6’1” 245 lbs with no modes to support a more comfortable ride and I have to say my 2023 is as comfortable as any other bike I’ve rode if not more comfortable. I am going to put some highway pegs on it soon just for extended ride comfort

I'm 6'1" and 290#'s. The Generation 6 wing just felt uncomfortable to me in the seat and leg position. However, the Gen 5 full GW doesn't give much room for rider as it shares comfort for passenger as well. Now my F6B is perfect for me. It has a totally different seat design than the full Wing. Plus the Gen 6 just is not big enough for me, I'm like the one guy you mention that he Dwarfs the bike.

6’5” 228 lbs, 34” inseam. Too cramped stock, so I swapped my stock seat for a Corbin that sits me 2” further and puts me in a slight sport touring lean. Also a Klock Werks recurve windscreen and highway pegs. Multi-day road trips felt great.

6.’5”. You’re the guy we want to hear from. Any highway pegs to help extend your feet? I’m sure the seat was a big deal. Thanks for watching and sharing.

@ sure, they are Rivco flip out pegs. For me, the seat and handlebar ergos feel so natural, I use the pegs less often than I thought I would.

@ Nice. I use my pegs if I am on the highway in lite traffic only. Thanks for watching.

Yeah, I've seen 6' + people ride Wing without any problems. However, if you have the slightest knee issues, then the stock seating position can be a major problem, especially on a long ride. As with any bike, comfort is king.

I envy you and your perfect fit body for the Goldwing. I'm 76, 6'3", 34' inseam, 280lbs., size 14 boot. I can't swing my leg past the travel trunk or lift it over the seat high enough to get on the seat. I fit just fine on my 15 year old '09 Harley Ultra Classic Electraglide but I had to remove the travel trunk 5 or 6 years ago because it became too difficult for me to squeeze past the travel trunk. Without the travel trunks I can swing my leg over the rear fender. I know Honda has a model without the trunk but I'd still have to have a custom seat to move me back, Heli bars or similar and after market foot controls on the Goldwing because no floorboards and no heel toe-shifter doesn't work for me. So, that adds a few thousand bucks. That and the fact that my age is no picnic makes me wonder if i should just continue to enjoy what I have. If Honda made a Gen 6 or 7 Goldwing that fit me I'd be riding one right now. Enjoyed your video, thanks.

It is good to see you, Rich. I am just a hair under 6'4" and now weigh near 270lbs. My inseam is 32" which is important, so I am longer in the torso. I used to ride a Victory Vision, but do to my needs to run more off pavement, I ended up selling it and buying a low mileage fully outfitted 2017 BMW R1200 GSA. I will be turning 70 shortly and just needed a lighter weight, multi-function motorcycle. Since I also tour regularly, I needed the ability to carry a lot of stuff for long rides and then easily drop the panniers for short distances. I think I made a good choice based on my style of riding. That is the key; you buy a bike that fits you physically and checks the boxes. The only limitation with my Beemer is that it is definitely not a beginner motorcycle and is very responsive and fast. If you lack self discipline it will kill you. You may die with a smile on your face, but dead is dead. Ride within your skill level. Keep it safe out there!
