I started on a 2023 RG Anniversary Special and fell in love with it. 6 months later I traded it for a blue burst on black 2024 RG. It’s a phenomenal bike. The color pops. The ride handles like a dream. I think the design is awesome, but then I am a huge proponent of change and innovation. I love it. HD did it right in my opinion.

I have always wanted a Road Glide. Family responsibilities, from putting a daughter through college & helping her through an abusive husband as well as laying my son to rest and making sure the rest of my family made it through the grieving process, i was never able to afford one. Now that I'm 61, i doubt I will ever be able to get a Road Glide. I served my Country and my family, and put everyone else first. I guess in my next life I am gonna put my own dreams higher on the priority list.

Growing up in Milwaukee Harley had always been the bike I wanted but could never afford. To me when people complain about the price I just kind of think that that is part of the mystique. You can still go out and buy a used Harley for fairly cheap and get into the brand, but to me something like a new road or street glide should be that thing that is just out of reach until you are ready. The sacrifice and journey up to your first new big bike is part of the adventure. When I bought my 2024 road glide at 45 it was a rush of emotion and a feeling of accomplishment and to me that is just as important as the ride itself.

I purchased my first new bike(this one) at 45 as well and I still get a little emotional knowing the strides, sacrifices and growing up I have done to be at this point in my life and able to make a purchase like this. Problem I have is spending $30+k for a brand new bike and immediately having to change out the windscreen, then the seat, and eventually the exhaust and so on and so on. A bike with that price point should be equipped with the best of everything Just my $.02 Edit: I've never seen a Goldwing with aftermarket windscreen, seat or exhaust 😆

I dreamed of having a Harley from when I was little. Fell in love at age 15 working at the hardware store when a guy rolled up on a Heritage Softail .. the moo glide .. black and white with the cow hide seat that I didn’t know was a special edition with only 1500 made until recently. 4 year ago I finally got my first Harley. Rode Scooters and metrics in my teens and 20s. But didn’t ride from mid 20s to later 30s. They say never meet your heros. You’ll be let down. That don’t apply to Harleys.. first ride on that 2009 Fatboy (the first one I got and rode) was everything I dreamed it would be. Currently have a 2023 FLTRX.. crank up built 124.. (first NEW bike I ever had) and a 2008 FLHRCI.. had a 2019 FLHR before the FLTRX. Once u have a road king u gotta have one always. Anyway .. I feel Where you’re coming from. Hope u getting as many miles as I do.. making up for years. Putting down 20k a year here in chi town. I’ll ride anywhere any time as long as no ice or snow on the ground or like 10*f out

Very nice post! 2025 gives me over 5 decades of riding under my belt and when it comes to bikes there is on constant I've seen in ALL brands and that is manufacturers typically will give you what THEY want to give you and you WILL buy it hopefully sooner than later. I'm currently riding a 22 Goldwing Currently Honda gives you 3 colors to choose from depending on the trim and one(1) wheel design AND color. ..yep.And if you think that's bad check this out as of 1/12/25 Honda has not released pics or specs for their 2025 lineup and this is the Goldwing's 50th anniversay!! Your bike is very nice and that red pops nicely good sir. Take care.😊

And the road glide looks an awful lot like the early Hondas that had a fixed fairing so what’s your point? Are you still butt hurt that Indian still makes a better bike in some people‘s opinion It’s all competition just gives us better bikes that are still way too expensive. 2025 challengers will probably have a bigger motor such as a 112 water cooled as it has been and it will be a monster I like both bikes. I don’t have a preference for either, but I do have a preference for competition getting us better bikes, and the actual truth.

Beautiful bike ! I wanted to give you a heads up regarding your rider's seat back rest. I was told years ago they're a bad idea. If you get rear ended, there's a greater possibility of breaking your spine than not having one. It's just something to consider. Ride safe !

Don't know if I could get one, as I have a 1988 Lowrider (hotted up and with a sidecar, had it since 1989) and a 2022 Pan America Special Enthusiasts Collection (the army green version), and a couple of old bikes in the shed, one for classic track racing 1971 Honda CB500 (modded to 600cc and stripped for track) and a 1974 Yamaha DT400 set up for vintage motocross; but I would love to get one and be doomed too.

There is no tech to speak of besides having cruise control. (Thank God) Other than that, some might call it a "real Harley." Here it is December 2024 and that bike still looks and runs like new. I won't set any speed records with that old TC88 but I can cruise comfortably at 75-80mph all day long. That bike and I are bestus buddies. That old girl still takes me wherever I want to go worry free.

For that compartment that keep opening, if harley hasn't already fixed it. Get you some strong velcro straps. They like 8 or 9 dollars at home depot. Quick fix until harley fixes it...

Good video, but the background music - watching with with a system that incu=ludes a subwoofer had me watching with my fingers on the volume control. Lower background music level would work well. And the post 2008 RG platform is probably HD's best bike to date

the first thing i wanted to do when i got home with my 24 was to put on a taller windshield, change the bars, change the highway bar and put on bag bars. Wanting to change the seat at least waited until i had almost 3000 miles on it.

The bar change was a must. I’ve been on a few bikes with T bars and I love the way they handled so that’s why I went with them on this bike. The windshield isn’t an issue for me. I do ride with a full face helmet on and but the wind doesn’t bother me at all. Next thing for me will probably be a rare suspension change.

I prefer to ride without a helmet at all. Taller windshield was so I could hear the music coming from the speakers. I went with thrashin supply 9.5 risers and the 5.5 mid bend bars. Keeps the hands closer and i find myself leaning further with them too. Which is odd because I didn't have an issue scraping feet pegs and eating gremlin bells on my breakout.

I don’t like the look of the new RG as much as I like the performance and ergonomic enhancements. The gen2 M8s are insane. The new head design is nuts .. will take a 520 lift cam out the box and have a big ass oval port for the intake ports. Liquid cooled heads without fairing lowers ? Yes please I’ll take some of that. Even just a cam upgrade puts the new 117 up there with a lower power 124 of the gen1 m8. Def on point about once u start glidin on the road glide .. there’s no turning back nothing will ever touch it … I do have an old road king for a bar hopper bc once u have a road king always will have a soft spot for the FLHR. But the RG is def that bike that can do it all

Once they hit the market I didn’t like the colors until i seen 24 model black on black and the sharkskin blue. I was sold obviously. Still love the 23 RG ST preferably the Fast Johnnie Blue. I made some custom mode adjustments that offer a little more kick but also have been checking out Cam options

I have a 17, and that bike was better than the 103 by far. I will say 30,000 miles the shocks everyone hates just broke in, lol. It's a 127 now. I call it my sport sofa. Love these new bikes. I bet that thing is a gem on the road!

Your story is similar to mine. I bought a 16 sg after wanting one for 10 years. I had an ultra at the time, but the sg juat kept calling to me. After 36k miles my wife talking me into a 2018 rgs in wicked red. I bought it in aug of 2018 and glad i did. The sharknose is better in every way for me. I dont ever see going back to the batwing. Now you see roas glides everywhere. It is now the new " me too bike" lol
