Are Your RV Gray Water Tank(s) Really Clean Inside? You Will See What I Found Inside & Did About It

I decided to install a built in gray water flush system on our tank similar to what is used on our black water tank. Prior there was no way to truly get a good cleaning in the gray water tank before I did this modification, you could only drain the tank and that's it.
What's different about my modification compared to how others do it is you can hook your water hose to one water inlet on the side of the RV and be able to flush both the black & gray tanks separately using a 3 way ball valve located near your waste dump valves.
This modification is easy and quick to do as you can see in the video.
NOTE: If you don't have any type of way to flush either of your Black or Gray tanks you might consider installing this system on both your tanks to get a better cleaning.

Another great bit of information, thanks Mike. I often thought about doing that to my 20 104S. However I have an enclosed underbelly, And I don’t feel like cutting holes in it or taking it down. It’s a very good idea though.

Got myself under my rig and found the perfect location to drill the hole and did just that, (I bought the drill and hole saw from your amazon list) and I drilled the hole, grabbed my new flush part and tried to put it in the hole I just made in my gray water tank, it would not fit at all. I did all the wiggle and waggle with no luck. When you did this to your tank I remember you said it fit tight and it was perfect, so I wanted to get in contact and ask for advise. I grabbed a peice of paneling and drilled a hole in it and tried to put the flush part in it while I was up on a table and not under the rig, it just does not fit. Please advise. Thank you. @@elizabethjames3440 It should be fitting did you buy the exact flush nozzle I used? Does it say on the package what size hole to drill? Mine said 1". I'm confused like you are, if the hole only needs to be a little bigger you can use a file to file the hole a little bigger to make it fit. A file like this will work from Home Depot www.homedepot.com/p/Nicholson-10-in-x-3-8-in-Bastard-Cut-Round-File-21854L/100208023 Can you let me know just how much bigger the hole needs to be?

@@thetraveltrailerguy Thank you for your quick response. Yes, I bought my flush part and drill hole saw off your parts list. The package says drill a 1" hole, the OD of the bit I bought and used is 7/8", the one that I had on hand and used in my piece of panel is OD 1" and the part fits but it is a bit loose. so I am confused because the one I bought seems a bit too small and the one I had seems a bit too big. After I dump, I put a cup of Borax and a cup of Zeps Citrus Degreaser in my grey tank with a few gallons of water.

That's a great tip I may give this a try sometime soon. I've always been surprised watching people at the dump stations just dumping their tanks then just close the valves and drive away with dry tanks, their tanks must be filthy inside with build up. Thanks for watching and commenting Ron

Not to be critical, but why didn't you use that smaller drill to cut the hole, looks like it would have fit without using the 90 degree drill contraption. Overall it looks like a great upgrade. Does it help with grey water smells?

You have good questions, Yeah I tried to get all my drills in there but they wouldn't fit, the problem was the hole saw bit set up was pretty long not even allowing my small air drive drill to fit so I got creative. So far its working great cleaning the tank and we have no smells. Great questions

hi Michael, great mod! question, have you used your trailer much since this mod? just curious if you have any leaks or problems since the install. I have a cracked grey tank, so I need to drop and replace, considering doing this mod when I install the new tank

Hey Matt, yep we have used the trailer over the last few months with 33 nights of camping (I just checked) No leaks at all and it works great in fact I'm thinking it works better than the black tank wash, you can hear harder spray noises hitting the tank in lots of areas compared to the factory installed nozzle in the black tank. I think its a good idea for you to this on your tank, I know I would do it again if I bought another trailer someday.
