I like the references it has to Bo2 zombies. The Nuke in the distance referencing to how one of the rockets landed at Nuketown. Being able to see that from Area 51 is a nice touch and the fog from Tranzit.

I remember there was this bug where if you teleport to area 51 right before the rockets hit the earth, you'll be able to see the earth destroyed just as how you can see it destroyed through the moon.

@@Boschitter yeah, when a game of nuke town ends the map gets nuked. If you want to see it you can look up “Nuketown game end explosion” on KZbin and there’s a 50 second video that shows all the nuketown explosions from bo1-cold war. I would send the link to it but the comment could get deleted. If you were asking if it downs you, then no that doesn’t happen since the explosion is just a cutscene that plays once the game ends.

Its not earth though is it ? Because at the end of the video you and looked up in the sky… on black ops 1 when you look there you can see the earth on fire. Which at the time if i remember correctly everybody started debating if area 51 was on earth or mars etc

I always took that as a chunk of earth (where Area 51 is on) was blasted off into space, and maybe there is still enough atmosphere around it to breath. It would have been neat if they made this the Canon interpretation since the crew can't get back to earth, and the fix was requiring the oxygen helmet instead of removing the earth from the skybox

Thats what a lot of people also think, however unless they just could not be bothered or did not have time/technology to add more effects. If area 51 got hit that hard to blast away, im sure the surrounding area would have got hit, but orhwr than the change of sky colour, nothing really happened to it. Which is why its more logical to believe that this was just another base on another planet. Like when everyone went crazy thinking shangri la is on mars. Or the more recent easteregg in the call of the dead remake map with the giant sphere

So I watched a video on this, it says it's because the events that happen on the moon are at a different time than the events on Area 51. The teleportation device sends them to the moon at a different time than they were at on Earth. Let's say, (these are not actually the dates) it's 01/01/2001 16:00/4 PM on Area 51 (Earth). The crew use the teleporter, and it's 01/02/2001 08:00/8 AM on the Moon. The missiles are launched at the Earth in the future while you're at Area 51, but the future is the present while you're on Moon. Also, I think that every time you go back to Area 51, it starts at the same time as it was when you first start the game, instead of picking up where you were when you teleported. This doesn't really explain the tranzit sky but I hope it helps.
