Tabling Beastie Beatdown when it was one of 3 first pick quality cards is outrageous. Could you tell me what time during the 2 hour draft window you joined this draft? Asking for a friend.

@calebburney78612 ай бұрын
Hey LSV, I recently found your channel and have been enjoying all the Duskmourn drafts immensely (it helps to learn a new format to have consistent streams from someone very knowledgeable). Just a small suggestion along the lines of the occasional comments about camera placement -- I think the best place would be just above your deck and graveyard, about where your mascot goes; I think that area is typically clear. Good luck in this draft I'm about to start watching.

When you conceded at 51:00 why didn’t kill the hallcreeper with the fungus?
@brianh58442 ай бұрын
I think the short answer is he was tilted by his opponent's draw (particularly the valgavoth's onlaught) and he felt really far behind, so he wasn't fully in it at that point and was already defeated mentally. I think for a $500 match you may as well keep playing even if the chances are very slim. You never know, you could hit the .1% where your opponent hits a pocket of 10 lands and you draw straight gas the rest of the game. Also, I think that turn would have probably gone better if LSV wasn't on tilt and not fully concentrating as a result. I mean, if you click the right room to start, you get to cast fomo, potentially draw another play, *and* kill their hallcreeper. You're still behind on cards and your opponent has repeatable sources of value in play, but if they don't have another manifest and you draw into removal or your bomb rare, the tides could have easily swung. All that said, don't mean to be too critical. The early concessions are a bit of a hobby horse for me because I like seeing unlikely comebacks and it feels like LSV used to have a bit more fighting spirit in that regard. Also, when I watch others stick it out in grim situations, I'm more likely to do the same. If you watch a lot of Reid Duke, for example, you're just going to concede less early. That said, it was a great run nonetheless and I'm happy to have LSV doing daily content.

Three lands in hand, no more board presence, facing 9 dmg, being at 9 life, opponent at 20 with 5 cards, knowing your deck and knowing nothing can change the state of the game. Keep your mental energy for the next game.
@brianh58442 ай бұрын
@@GuillaumePoulin see my comment above: I don't think this game was actually unwinnable. It was not likely, but if he takes the correct line that turn he's definitely got outs. He gets to loot away a land with fomo, kill his opponent's best threat, and potentially even draw into another play with the loot. And he absolutely has cards left in the deck that can turn it around (his 2nd best card in the set bomb rare especially). I think when chances get below .5% or so, saving mental energy may make sense. But anything above that (and I do think this was, his opponent could easily have lands in hand for example) and I think it's worth playing it out.
@g8le2 ай бұрын
@@brianh5844 Where do you come up with those numbers. Above 0.5% is worth staying in, below is worth saving mental energy? Are you some sort of sage? Lmao ridiculous

At 53:37, you could sacrafice the creature that had Stay hidden stay silent on it, to prevent them from manifesting dread next turn. Is the reason you didn't do that because you find that a overall weak thing to do on turn 6? Or because you wanted to expand the board.
@patrickgonzales78252 ай бұрын
What a great run and a sad ending at the same time. I think your deck has a really great chance of winning. But the lack of early removal and sorcery to enable fast delirium surely hurt you there. 1 say its name would have gone a long way for this deck. In any case, Congrats in cashing in! Hope you continue to put Duskmourn draft content in YT.

Yes, I think he likely just missed that it was an Enchantment Creature. Still super unlikely for him to win that game even if he caught that, but it would have been nice to see.

I'm still not sold on the swarm weaver being better than ballustrade wurm here. It feels like a persistent 5/5 hastey threat probably plays better alongside all you other haste beatdown right? Also the terramorphic expanse over fear of evposure was interesting - i think your pick was probably correct because you had swarm weaver but fear of exposure is pretty excellent IMO specifically in gruul. Gruul has the best 1 drops which make that deck quite good at curving into a t3 FOE.

not sure you'd seen it yet, but in the very last match at around 56:30, you actually have the win here assuming opponent doesn't add to the board: you block their attackers, chumping twice, then saccing the two chumpers to the skinripper, adding two +1/+1 counters to it, thus have it surviving combat. you take 4 from the manifests, end of turn skinripper deals 2 to opp's face, bringing them to 4. on your turn you attack for 2 in the air, then saccing the two tokens to the skinripper, to deal 2 to opp's face bringing them to 0.
