I love Aretha at this size. However I realized that for this size she was smoking cigarettes more. The toll they took on her voice was obvious to the ear. She knew this and stopped smoking soon after this performance. I'm glad she did.

her runs/agility/musicality, she reminds me of Mariah except she's not coloratura (Aretha is a dramatic soprano that can drown out most sopranos in terms of volume output except like Patti and Chaka)

Cyrus Jackson ReRe was a mezzo soprano. Meaning she can hit notes that a dramatic soprano can hit but her register is much more warmer and has more depth. She had more boom in her prime than Patti and that’s no doubt. Even in her raspy years she still had much power with a very good scratchy upper register. Chaka has a nice belt on her but to say she could drown out Re would be kinda hard to say at times. Look up the clip where the two were singing with Brandy, Whitney, and CeCe Winans.
