Decided to go for Argenti for three main reasons 1. Looks, he looks like Kurama (Yu Yu Hakusho) which is a character I like a lot, so I dig the aesthetic 2. The 4* on the banner, I do want Asta and Hanya Eidolons but getting Lynx would be nice too 3. The new content, he seems fun to play on the new content with his mechanics I know his kit is simple but for me it'll be fun and enough, I'm not looking at a specific unit right now as well so... yeah

Argenti is in a weird spot for me. Since I've skipped every DPS in favor of support/sustain, one could argue that I should pull for Huohuo... but I already have Luocha and I think he's far better, one could argue that I should pull for SW but I don't really need SW anymore since I can clear MoC without her, one could argue that I should skip 1.5 for Ruan Mei but I don't really like Ruan Mei's kit despite how people say she'll be broken. I already have a Physical DPS which is Clara but I had a hard time building her (my Clara build still isn't good imo but I'm hoping to use the new artifact set on her) and I think it's time for my account to have a fresh new DPS ever since I got Seele so that just leaves Argenti.

I think he’s going to be very strong both AoE and single target with lvl 2 ult. It has good scaling and does damage 6 random times for 95% of his attack. On a single target it’s over 800% of his attack since all bounces will hit the one target.

​@@mrdeafternot really, the slowest unit to attack is JY LL which is guaranteed to go at least 1 time per cycle no matter what, Argentis ult takes on average 4 turns to come up, that's 2 cycles worth of turns for what's essentially one big burst, 9 times out of 10 the tradeof in time for the damage is not worth it, you almost always are gonna favor consistent damage that eventually kills everything over one big nuke which you can either waste or make suboptimal use of

Yeah i think dps in general have some issue with support and team bc dps alone do nothing. But Argenti is an interesting character for the kit based on spam of ultimate. Total dmg of skill and ult need some try...before the release we dont know how much hard beat. Anyway skip every erudition bc destruction dps are better it is a wrong idea. There will be a new moc based on wave of enemies and erudition will shine very well. So...enjoy the beauty;)

Folks really look at the characters downsides over their advantages. I've heard this argument before when JY came out. Argenti as an Erudition unit has potential, I can say this with confidence because I have played with JY without having Fu Xuan, With 4 star supports and dont have his SigLc. Those were the 2 flaws he had but still managed to push through despite the type disadvantages. The investment argument can be said with every character period. Sim is another can of worms but the best way to compare a character is on MoC when the buffs dont benefit them. Energy being high? Theres ERRope, he has built in Energy traces the more enemies there are. That is where Erudition is supposed to excel at not on Blast since that's where Destruction excels. Folks focus on high damage on blast but most of the time it's mostly overkill damage from the side that inflates their damage to obscure numbers(Except Jiingliu at E1).

Even Jingliu at E1 is very limited in practical usage, since you rarely have 1 enemy left on the field at any given time. And when there actually is 1 enemy, her skill at E1 is basically overkill. I'm pretty sure argenti and erudition will shine with the new game mode. If it's 5 enemy waves to kill, destruction blasters will have a direct disadvantage. Hunt is a lost cause. The only real stars will be erudition. Almost all of starrail's playerbase originates from genshin, so you have all the dumbos who only look at present and ignore the future. It is what it is - genshin community isn't creative. They only know to put new characters into existing comps, and if they can't, or they aren't an upgrade, it's a "mid" pull. The community is fkin toxic. Ignore em and pull who you like. Make these characters do big numbers and laugh at the haters' faces. That's what I always do. All the haters only know 2-3 words anyway - copium, mid. Arguing with them is pointless.

I saw some guy say "The problem with Argenti is his V1 ULT is complete garbage meaning 1 part of his kit is practically useless" but on the other hand it has a low cost and based on leaks against multiple enemies(5) he only needs 2 turns to get ULT V1 so in theory he could be built as a sub-dps or a break-effect character he would not do as well with dot teams but he could be an amazing breaker. But for the traditional hypercarry team comp using his skill is just so much better.

Keep in mind that PI was a cracked event that literally everyone can brute force it. By 'Mid Yuan'. he literally have the capability of the hunt for an Erudition what are you talking about? The event was not even designed for him but it's mainly for Topaz. Elation path rewards units that frequently FUA's but on MoC this is not a problem for JY. Destruction is good on bosses like the Swarm bug, since they designed it on the way that DHIL and Jingliu is the hard counter to it just like Blade was for the Ape For this MoC, they designed it to benefit Destruction. But mind explaining how JY managed to keep clearing content competitively despite the MoC or the mobs themselves are not weak to Lightning..? with 4 star supports while the rest except the likes of Kafka and DHIL can live without Bronya. JY can still efficiently clear mobs around him, They don't have Destructions multiplier if it did that'd be broken but if you reach that threshold they are just free energy for Erudition to ult quicker. Hunt is better on ST and can spend SP efficiently but needs backup to clear the mobs around if it gets hecktic. Destruction you need to work around SP since the 2 destructions don't generate SP on their awakened state and one of them sucks most of it(As a DHIL haver sp management is feasible but its a pain.) At least if you have Loucha here its pretty feasible but for those who haven't? Good luck because that's the case for me. Erudition is the same case for Hunt but AoE oriented, the 'ST' part of their kit is supposed to be treated as a bonus not their whole gimick supposedly, They designed JY in a way that team building matters the most. I can't tell you how many times my JY team is near full for SP for Supports. meanwhile DHIL's team ends up only in 1-2 most of the time that my Solo sustain have troubles keeping the team alive and have to chose between healing my allies but not doing 3BAs.

@@Meckenn Mind explaining why JY was the 2nd fastest MOC10 clearer for the entirety of 1.3 and was also the 3rd fastest clearer of 1.4. and 1.2. When there were never more than 3 bosses in the map and the fact that in both 1.4 and 1.3 only had 1 of the bosses be lightning weak with 1.4 favoring Blade with both bosses having wind weakness and 1.3 favoring Seele with one of the bosses being quantum weak and the same time spawning adds that are also quantum weak so she can 1 shot them for resurgence proc to deal massive dmg. But as much I hate to say it JY is the weakest limited dps but at the same time he is the most efficient crit based dps only requiring 2 supports both of which are 4 stars and 1 is a universally strong support everyone wants and the other is free + with the addition of the only crit based dps not needing high spd to perform very well and is the one of the only non bronya reliant dps which are only 3 non bronya reliant to be in the top tier which is DHIL, JY, and Clara. Just to be clear what I mean by non bronya reliant I am referring to not needing bronya to reach high performance.

I have used silver wolf for a while and would like to suggest a few tips: she is good in double hypercarry dps team, both their elements must be different, they must have effective weakness break, For example Using SW with Seele and Jingyuan, Lynx and Tingyun would be much better. U could use Seele, SW, Welt, Loucha. it gives good type coverage and sustainable debuff with perfect SW team. Also...a team I use and like a lot for casual battles....Seele, Jingyuan, SW, HuoHuo, ofc change the team to ur liking, and feel free to not be restricted to double element teams, but just make sure u always have a option of dealing dmg to opponent.

People who like Argenti should roll for him, because fun trumps everything else! However… he’s looking to be the most underwhelming 5* in the game. It’s like they looked at Lightning Lord and said, “How do we take the worst part of Lightning Lord and put it on another character?” then made Argenti’s double ultimate do random damage to enemies… and also gave him almost 0 self buffing in his kit. He’s going to be even more reliant on Tingyun than Jing Yuan is, will basically require Bronya, and at that point, you could make ANY character a god. It’s like seeing good damage from a 4* Dan Heng, then seeing their relics, and it’s like 3k Attack 80%/250% Crit and 136 speed. Yeah, slap busted stats and the best supports in the game on anyone, and they’ll be good, but on average, a character has to be good in their own right to be considered good. Argenti’s value tanks on anything below 3 target, where it’s very hard for him to get his Ult up: the only saving Grace for him will be if the new Endgame content they talked about, the Endless waves that’s coming in 1.6, is very AoE focused, but even then, other units will probably just do it better.

@@gauthamka You’re missing the point. 25% Crit is REALLY not that big of a buff and the Energy Recharge is just to make his kit even remotely function, they’re not massive upsides. He’s not getting 2000 attack and 50% Crit Rate, or 60% Damage and 48% Crit Damage, or 80% Damage/20% Res Pen and Extra Turns. Compared to other Main DPS with those same supports, he is going to be lackluster in any scenario that isn’t SPECIFICALLY tailored to him, an incredibly niche unit. I never said using supports is a downside, I said that a unit using Bronya and Tingyun just to function on an average level of strength is a disappointment. All the other Main DPS right now will do more damage with less investment, and won’t have the same glaring issue of losing what makes their kit function the moment there aren’t 3+ enemies around. Argenti’s gameplay is literally “tickle the enemies until you can use your ultimate. Use Ultimate.”, and he RELIES on having tons of enemies around to get the extra energy to fuel his double ultimate. You would rarely every want to use his 90 cost unless it would finish off a low health boss to end the fight. Pull for who you want, but in terms of Meta, I don’t think Argenti will even compete with Jing Yuan, let alone other Main DPS. At least Jing Yuan has a sick relic set coming out that’s massively buffing his kit: until Argenti gets something like that to fix his underwhelming kit, he’s going to be an underwhelming unit. It’s pretty obvious if you just math him out.

@@mrdeafter Even IF Argenti can beat Jing Yuan, that’s not a massive feat to pull off. Jing Yuan is a pretty middling character, in all honestly, and considering that Ruan Mei, Dr.Ratio, Hanabi (Bronya 2.0), and Black Swan are all coming after Argenti, his relative pull value is in the dirt. Watch the video above, and forget about Jing Yuan: you can literally just use Clara, a Standard Banner character that you’ll eventually get spooked by, instead of wasting your money and resources on a dude who won’t be able to single target his way out of a wet paper bag. Clara doesn’t need supports to do her job, she just DOES IT, and can be run alongside a Main DPS and a Support for that Main DPS, plus a Sustain. You can clear the game with anyone you want, my dude, but the investment you’ll have to put into making Argenti work is much higher than most other 5* DPS. If you miss lethal with Argenti, there’s a good chance you won’t be able to kill that boss until your NEXT ULTIMATE, because he doesn’t do shit outside of his Ult. I shouldn’t have to explain how important Single Target damage is in these games….
