One of the most amazing thing that Maradona does not get enough credit for was his toughness. Time and time again he got up from a terrible tackle. Which by today’s standards would be a red card offense or criminal chargers. Argentina was stacked with so many world class players. This was the first World Cup that Maradona did not have to be the main guy. He just pulled all the strings from midfield and had so much talent around him to cover for his defensive liabilities. If Maradona was not suspended, Argentina would have won the 1994 World Cup. The most gifted player of all time. RIP.

I lived 10 blocks away from Diego in 1980s. The house that Argentinos Juniors bought him. One time we knocked his door and someone came and gave us Puma Posters of Diego. Sergio "El Checho" Batista was also in Villa Devoto quite often buying expensive dressing shirts. Bilardo was a classmate in Colegio Nacional Buenos Aires with my uncle.. He showed me a picture so true story.. I was 11 y/o when we won 1986. I remember absolutely everything of that golden era.

@@bolder2009 this team was far superior to the one in 86. They had Redondo, Batistuta besides Canniggia and Maradona, Argentina 94 was the favorite, no questions. Everyone knew it, Brazil knew this, Germany knew this, Italy knew this. USA had to fuck it up with some bogus bullshit test.

I grew up in a time with lot of Stars...every Coutry in a W Cups then has a minimally one Star to played in a Europe 's best Clubs...Why Messi Won almost alone a last WC...mostly because there is no Stars any more,just a few of them and we all knows who they are...if this Argentinian team played in a 90s last Century...most probobly they wouldn't pass even a group stage...same as my Croatia...we were in a Finals 2018,semi finals 2022...only with a Luka Modric...and Perisic...but Perisic was a never Star...he his best games did in a national team...Croatia today and 2018 would never compare what we had in a 90s...Šuker,Boban,Prosinečki,Jarni,Bilić...ai don't want to spit on a success of the Croatian Team 2018 and 2022...but I will repeat...1993 - 2000 was Croatian Golden Team...ok maybe Ruggeri wasn't a such Star but in that time everybody knows for him...today I don't know many players who played in q last World Cup,..for example Germany,Netherlands,..only France and England has some Stars...even a Spain don't any more and Portugal as well non except a Cristiano Ronaldo...

It's strange how in my view, their least talented side in 32 yrs (outside of Messi, of course) ended up being the one to win the WC since 86.

@@naijaman6639 2022 wasn't their least talented squad, not in a million years. That was in 2018 and 1990 (especially 1990). Other than that, since 1994 mostly Argentina has had talented teams at least in attack and also occasional world class defensive players like Zanetti. Best teams in addition to 2022 were 94, 98, 2002 and 2006. Somehow these teams couldn't "kill it" which 2022 squad could do and of course they didn't have an individual like Messi or Maradona.

Realmente no lo era... tuvo problemas en la eliminatoria y para clasificar llaman a diego que era un fanatico mas en la grada...ya contra australia en repechaje tuvieron problemas y estaban inseguros por eso diego de la angustia tomo sustancia indebida pues si le temian a nigeria

It was smart work between Maradona and Caniggia to score Argentina's second. @8:23 an example of how Nigeria's defending was almost the polar opposite of their skilful attacking. That's either incredibly clumsy or vicious.

Amigo mío, el equipo nigeriano era muy fuerte en ese momento. Fue campeón africano en 1994 y era un firme candidato a ganar la Copa del Mundo. Nigeria tenía jugadores profesionales en todas las posiciones. En ese partido, Nigeria tuvo una actuación muy fuerte y avanzó sobre Argentina por un gol, pero debido a que la defensa de Nigeria fue débil, Argentina pudo ganar, pero Nigeria pudo liderar su grupo con 6 puntos. @@claudiosalvatierra981

A Maradona lo llevaron para cortar tickets, cuando se vendió todo y no lo necesitaron más se sacaron de la manga la carta del doping. Todo muy raro como se fué el de la cancha ese día. No les importó el espectáculo porque Joao Havelange estaba al borde del retiro, y como capricho quiso ver a su selección campeona del mundo.

Que lastima que casi todas las jugadas de Maradona estan cortadas, todas las jugadas de ataque que mostraron son todos pases geniales de Maradona, pero lo cortan y solo aparece el delantero picando y la pelota llegando y al final tambien las jugadas de Maradona estan todas cortadas, una lastima. Es mas el pase gol a Caniggia se lo da Maradona y ni aparece en el video.
