Theres good recomendations and takes so much time to go to all sites(even it`s difficult to go to all bodegones cause theres a lot in Buenos Aires). If you go to more bodegones you re gonna crazy. About ice cream theres a culture of ice cream even in winter and it`s common to eat ice cream exactly quarto or cuarto de helado it means 1/4 kilogram of ice cream.Even exists delivery services of ice cream and you can choose flavours and sauces or frozen cakes like tiramisu for example.Just ask about tortas heladas but order portions cause they are massives.

Awesome video guys. The one discrepancy I have, and it's nitpicking, is that the empanada is like the aussie meat pie. The meat pie has chunks of meat - the empanada is mince. The meat pie has gravy - the empanada has no gravy - but is flavoured with garlic, onion, capsicum (sofrito style) and has hard boiled egg and olives etc.... The pastry is also very different. Most, but not all, empanadas are deep fried, meat pies are oven baked. If a comparison had to be made I'd say either the Cornish Pastie or The Turkish mince Pide. But even then it's a longshot.
@MaxandJacqueline7 ай бұрын
To be fair, it’s been over 2 years since we have been able to eat an Aussie meat pie so maybe it was just bring back the memories. But I swear this one tasted so much like the meat pies from back home 🧡

Some comments on your video. There are three kinds of "medialunas": "de manteca" (butter" which can be sweet or salty, and "de grasa" (fat) which are always "salty", much more crispier and thin. Tourist must not mix "Mercado de San Telmo" and "Feria de San Telmo". Both translate as "market" in English, but the former is a century old building, with many food and antiques shops, and the latter start two blocks away in the Dorrego Square and then goes along Defensa street up to Plaza de Mayo. With empanadas you have two main types: fried or baked in ovens. Usually the chains of "industrial" empanadas are baked. There are many traditional recipes of the minced meat type, form different provinces of Argentina (Salta (salteñas), Tucumán (tucumanas), Santiago del Estero (santiagueñas)). Other traditional flavours are ham and cheese, humita (sweet corn), chicken, cheese and onion. There are some places with some new "cool" recipes like cheeseburguer, red saussage (cantimpalo), special cuts of meat, etc. In another video you had a choripan (saussage in bread) or lomito (thin steak of cow meat in bread. But in my opinion they are much better without the sauces and toppings. The choripan should be eaten only with chimichurri (a special argentine sauce for some meats). With pizzas we also have two main types. The one tasted at Güerrin is called "media masa" (half dough) which is higher with the base crispy but not the top. The other type is called "a la piedra" (because it is put in the oven directly on the bricks or stone without a tray. It's much more thiner, crispy. But both will have much more cheese than the original italian pizza. In some places you may ask "double mozzarella" to have even more molten cheese on it. Yes, at restaurant we eat pizza with fork and knife, but at home or parties, we eat it with our hands. And you should ask for a special pizza called fugazzetta, which is a pizza with lots of onion and cheese. Alfajor /alfajores. The one in the video is a traditional one called maicena (corn starch, instead of weat flour). It may be a little dry. I like best the chocolate (two biscuits with a filling of dulce de leche (milk jam) and covered with chocolate, or the dulce de leche flavour (the same but covered with sugar/meringue/sugar glass). There are some trademarks which are best, like Havanna (with some special flavours, like dark chocolate or with nuts) in the coffe shops of the same name, Cachafaz (you may find them in almost every kiosko -small drugstores with sweets and beverages). A correction with places. Where you ate the lomito and choripan for the second time is Costanera Sur, and in front is the Natural Reserve of Costanera Sur, a reserver truly made by nature, because was and abandoned receptacle of the mud extracted in the building of a new channel for Buenos Aires port. Nature took the place and plants and animales arrived without human intervention. There is another place called Ecoparque which is in the Palermo neighbourhood and was the former Zoo of Buenos Aires. It's also a place worth a time because there are buildings for the animals that were kept there which are in the style of the country of origin. Now very few animals are kept there because most of them where transfered to santuaries. The secret to the Argentine asado is that the meat si grilled SLOWLY. If you want to try you put embers under the grill and you put your hand over the grill 2 inches (5cm) over it and you must be able to keep there up to the count of 7 or 10. The meat will start on the fat or bone side and then it will be turned to complete the grilling. Thank you for your video.

Buen video,las mejores empanadas son las fritas con grasa y carne picada a cuchillo y condimentos naturales, por eso en el norte y noroeste estan ñas mejores....las empanadas al horno no son buenas.

Argentinian & Uruguayan food is VERY RICH. Lots of Meat, Cheese, Pastries, Pasta, Sugar and Oil. Plus all the drinks etc...... the way many of them keep trim is from all the walking they do. Matè helps as well.
