I am an African American who studied abroad in Buenos Aires in 2007 and I had zero problems. Argentines are cool people. Its more diverse than people think, they have Asians who own grocery stores and immigrants from other Spanish speaking countries there. Yo soy estadounidense y no tenía ningún problema en Argentina. The USA did not want their blacks to ID as "AFRICAN" because Black Americans are spiritually, physically and mentality must be tied to the USA. if not = it fails. the 13 colonies, 13th amendment and 13% are tied to faith of the continent. In modern times, everyone is equal before Argentine laws. If a black person lives there, such a person is equal: can study, find work, start a business, join clubs, play football, have a lot white Argentinian friends, intermarry and mix well with everyone else. There could be very small percentage of people that could be racists, but I have never seen such people. What I saw was a great cherish and care for black people in Argentine. By the way, if you want to ask, I lived in Buenos Aires for 10 years and I have a native (Porteño)son actually living there right now I am writing this for you. And Argentine, in my opinion, was the country that treated me humanly the most among all the countries I have been or lived in. I wish a great success to all Argentinians wherever they are! The best! As a black man who travelled to Argentina few months ago for work, I can confidently say I had a great and positive experience. Austin is so damn right, the way you carry yourself cannot be underestimated when you travel as a black person. Dress nice, shave clean, talk proper and move like you're somebody then people will reciprocate. I remember going to a popular bar in Buenos Aires for Friday Happy Hour. A group of women were randomly approaching me for pictures while some were hitting on me hard core. Some may argue it's racist but I quickly understood many Argentinians are simply not used to seeing black folks in their daily experiences. As an argentine i can tell you that racism in Argentina is nothing compared to the U.S. You may have a distored notion of us because of football (Soccer for you guys).In that context, it's super common to insult the oposing team and its supporters with every insult in the book. It happens every week amongst ourselves in the national football league. We insult each other and we laugh it out (At least most of the time). The problem is when we take that sort of culture to other countries that take those insults too seriosuly (like Brazil for example). To us it's funny and it's a part of football culture but to them is highly ofenssive and racist. The thing is that, when it comet to daily life, we are not a racist country by any means. If you, as a black person, come to Argentina you will not be harassed, attacked or mistreated just for being black.

Someone like me I will definitely travel to Argentina despite other black people saying it’s a racist country, but I will not travel to certain other South American countries not because of racism, but because of the crime. Nice to see travel content that is wholly centered on dating and relationships. Buenos Aires looks like a beautiful city with great food and architecture. I think if more "passport bros" took this holistic approach to taking care of their appearance, getting to know an area, and talking to more people than just the first pretty face they see on the street they would enjoy themselves more and improve black men's reputation globally.
@alejandroalganaras13246 ай бұрын
Argentina never had a reputation for being racist, until in 2022 an article appeared in a newspaper saying that because there were no black players on the national soccer team. After that, saying that Argentina is racist began to be repeated as if it were true. Argentina is not only not racist, but it is the least racist country in the world for one simple reason, any Argentinian doesn't give a shit about someone's skin color, and I think that is the best definition of not being racist. I have also heard it said that Argentina has a history of racism, and that is also false. In Argentina there is no black population due to historical facts that were the opposite of racism, such as not being a British colony, which was the main slave-trading country, and that when they tried to do it in this country it was not popular. Slavery was not commercially successful in this country and that is why only 2% of black people came and much less than 1% to what is known today as Argentina. In Argentina, anyone in the world, of any race and any religion, can come and study in the best schools or universities for free, use the health system for free, work, etc. Honestly, that reputation that is being created for no real reason is offensive.

If Argentina not racist, How come black Argentinians complain about the racism in Argentina then?
@alejandroalganaras13242 ай бұрын
@@PPHDocumentaries In Argentina several years ago, largely introduced by the educational system by government policies, it became cool to be a victim of the "system" in some way. I'm not just talking about recism. If you ask someone who is very thin, they will tell you that Argentine society has a phobia of thin bodies and that they feel discriminated against for their thinness and depression, therefore it is the fault of that society. If you talk to someone who is not skinny, they will tell you that they feel discriminated against because when they are not served in a restaurant or if they do not do well with women, it is because society discriminates against them. If you talk to a woman she will tell you that she is discriminated against for being a woman, if you talk to a man she feels discriminated against for being a man and the new feminist culture. You don't have to believe me, just ask any Argentinian if they feel discriminated against and those are the answers you will get. Yes, it is true that it is a classist culture. By this I mean that they do discriminate but based on educational level. If someone of any race, sex or size is well educated they are treated very well, unlike someone without the same. level of education. I repeat, regardless of race.

Oh! Taht's my neighborhood. Let me tell you: we have racism like in any other country. But being black, it is possible that you will not suffer discrimination, because the black Argentine population is very small, so there is not even a racial stereotype around the black, as there is around the South American native. When the word "black" is used together with a pejorative adjective, it is usually directed at someone non-white, but rarely towards a black person. Even if you come across racist people, they are not going to be racist to you because they will see you as a tourist. Racist discrimination in Argentina always comes hand in hand with class discrimination. And at this point, your observation is very accurate: as long as you are well dressed and not dressed in rags, you will hardly be discriminated against.

Everything Auston mentioned in the beginning is very true. Every person has a bias. I knew people like Floyd growing up. Self Awareness is key. As a man, you must develop yourself. Internally first, then outwardly. Your dress, speech, intelligence and confidence. People, especially women, is attracted to confidence especially if you are well dressed. Swiping & Tinder isn’t real, it is only a introduction. How you show up is important. Based on the videos, Floyd thinks he just needs to show up. Ah no… He needs to put the work in to get the results he is looking for.
