My grandpa was a nazi/fascist supporter from Brenner ( i believe its somewhere in the austrian/italian border nowdays) - As far as my family history goes, he escaped europe after WW2, went to Argentina, and then when rumours that they were looking for nazis for war crimes, he moved to Costa Rica - i never knew him but it's crazy how far those guys travel to escape from their past - Anyway ... The casual way this guy drops knowledge and interacts with people is just different. He literally just popped up in a former nazi hub, used conspiracy books at a local shop as reference, and went straight to the nazis daughter in law. In 2010, I went to high school with a boy whose grandfather was a Nazi. I'm not exactly sure what he did but it was never a secret and everyone in town knew it. I live in a little town in rural Argentina so everyone one knows each other. They used to call him "El Aleman" (The German). My grandparents are Polish and knew this nazi guy very well and strangely enough, they had a good relationship!

When I lived in Argentina in the early 1980s, I met a handful of unrepentant Nazis. I spoke with them at length, multiple times over dinner and/or Mate'. I was fascinated by their life experience and perspective. Generally speaking, the people I spoke with were melancholy about how Europe was negatively affected by Germany's loss and the ascendancy of Bolshevism. They all made a good life in Argentina. Thank you for the video. It brought back so many memories.

I live in San Carlos de Bariloche and consider it the most beautiful city of the planet . There is so much to do here that you would need years to discover all the secrets of this amazing city . Bariloche today has become the centre of Argentina it seems as the pandemic has changed peoples attitudes and everyone wants to now live in Bariloche . The province of Rio Negro is drop dead gorgeous with the best beaches of Argentina and natural scenery . I also like to say that the food here is superb with great local dishes and incredible forest fruits from El Bolson . Love it all !

There were always sayings that his family were Nazis who fleed to Argentina. I talked to him about his past. He said he was vorn in Bariloche, lived there for 20 years and grew up wit 800 Nazis. I'm Argentinian and i didn't know a lot of stuff that you talked about in the video, i've never been to bariloche and it was really nice learning stuff from other parts of my country. Also i'd like to thank you for not picturing all of the Argentinians who live in Bariloche as Nazis because i know that a lot of people from around the world see Argentina only as a Nazi refugee place or a country where nazi culture affected a lot, when the nazi culture isn't really alive and the nazis for what i know tried to lay low in the country. In Argentina you would find the same amount of Neonazis that you would expect to find anywhere in the world (very few and sick people) really like your channel! (sorry for any english errors)

I was a missionary in Córdoba Argentina for two years. One of my areas was Villa General Belgrano. It was a little German town, like a mini version of Bariloche. There were rumors of Nazis back in the day that settled it, but now it’s just a beautiful tourist town. I loved it.

As far as I know, being an argentinian myself, you can find the german DNA heritage mostly in the mesopotamic provinces that are in the north east of the country (Misiones, Corrientes, Entre Ríos). Bariloche is a small city in a southern province called Río Negro, but yes, it is predominantly german and swiss, and has very good chocolates too.

However, in northern central Nevada, along the California border, there are alpine forests surrounding Lake Tahoe- which is shared by both states. There are a number of towns on the lake that have a similar alpine vibe. It’s a pretty magical place.

@@Dah42 yes, my ancestors were Nazis and lived in Germany during WW2. My grandma who passed back in 2014 worked at the weapons manufacturer Mauser. We actually never talked about these times so I never had any first hand information so to speak. My family history dates back to 1385 and is even in the state archive but unfortunately doesn’t include political affiliation.

There is also another city of German immigrants called Villa General Belgrano. During the 1940s the town had an important boost with the arrival at the site of 125 crew members of the German armored ship Admiral Graf Spee. Most of the sailors belonged to the ship's technical staff, with which they mastered a wide range of trades. the sailors managed to integrate into the small community that already had German immigrants.

I lived in Martinez (Buenos Aires suburb) Argentina in the 70s for a short time as a kid. Lived next door to a German family they were the nicest people ever. They basically adopted me as part if the family. I was spoiled since my neighbors ( our landlords) in a Chicago suburb I lived in were German did the same to me. Argentina was quite different back then as it is today. Its still such a beautiful place. I think Buenos Aires is so interesting.

Back in 97, I was traveling either through Chile or Argentina. I remember coming across a small town and it looked and feel like what I imagined a small little German town would look and feel like if I was in Germany. For a small town somewhere in South America, I felt it was very strange and out of place. The only time I was ever in Germany was like 2014. My Grandpa moved to the US from Düsseldorf right after WWI. He had 6 brothers that were killed in Germany during the war. What’s crazy is by the time he was in his 20’s the US entered WWII. He fought against his fatherland and was part of the 7th armored division. He talked very little of the war and would tear up when he talked of the time they went through Düsseldorf and seen the destruction of his child hood home. He said he helped with translation while in the Army. I have tons of pictures of my grandpa going through the Ardennes during the battle of the bulge. I one day hope to visit my family in Düsseldorf. My Dad told me that we have family that went to Argentina after WWII but he said he don’t know their names. My dad talked of them living in a German town in Argentina. He can’t tell me the name of the town of who they are but one day I hope to find out.

It told me what part my family came from and showed I think 85% Germanic Europe then a small percentage from Switzerland, Sweden, and then a percentage that said Western Europe which showed Germany in the map. Names came up but it mostly showed Americans that was like 7x removed cousins or whatever. Lol. I even had one guy that came up from somewhere in the Middle East that looked middle eastern and had my last name spelled in the old way before my family moved to the US. It’s weird my last name changed spellings 4x since leaving Germany. I’ve had better luck though with my wife doing my ancestry than the company ancestry that we sent our DNA to. My wife doing my ancestry is how we found out about all my grandpas brothers dying in the war. It’s crazy.

Interesting! Im from Düsseldorf and you can still find a lot of "old" fashioned places in the oldtown of Düsseldorf. Unfortunately Düsseldorf was destroyed a lot in the last months of war. A lot of bombings, because it was an Industry Hub. My neighbor is an old Argentinian/ German . Last time I asked him a little bit about Argentina, he said he grew up with 800 Nazis in Bariloche and his parents (dutch and german) went to bariloche after WW II. When he was 20 he left back to Germany.

@@max0007 I plan on visiting within The next couple years. Düsseldorf, Bottrop, Kirchellen that is in or around Nordrhein Westfalen and Hamborn, Duisburg Deutschland is where they all are around. KleineBreil is the last name. It would be funny if you you knew some. Either way I would love to move to Deutschland because the US is just getting worse. Everything here has become about politics. There is so much corruption that this country is not what it used to be. It’s all about money here. It’s said when you live in a country that is supposed to be so great yet have so many homeless people living on the streets. Banks will take your home if you miss 1 or 2 payments. If you miss a child support payment 2x then it’s on your credit which prevents you from buying anything regardless if you been paying for 13 years on time. It’s not safe for kids to go to schools. @@Bowhunterohio Yeah you should visit your roots. Itll be probably a pretty cool experience. All those towns you mentioned are in a 30 min radius from Düsseldorf. So you can easily visit all places in a short period. But I can tell you, Düsseldorf is by far the nicest of those. Duisburg is nowadays a dump. Comparable to Detroit. A lot of crime, empty houses, no work etc. I studied in Duisburg, the train ride from Düsseldorf to Duisburg is only 20 Min, but it feels like youre going to a different country. So dont expect too much of Germany. There are still nice places, especially in the south, but you see in the past years how Germany loses a lot of economical strenghts, a lot of illegal immigration and crime is rising. My godmother is from South Carolina, I studied a year in Orange County, Fullerton CA and my wifes mother lives in Orlando. I actually even worked for a bit in the US-Consulate in Düsseldorf. So Im close to the USA for a long time but I also realized that the USA is for the past years on a decline. However, the same is happening to Germany. Therefore places like Bariloche look actually pretty nice, clean and quiet.

That's right, the largest influx of German population was from 1880 to around 1921 when communism trapped the Germans in Russia. The amount of Germans who came from Germany after WWII are few in comparison.

My grandparents lived in Bariloche for close to 40 years, they were of German descent having come here just before WWI. I went there so many times I know half the town probably. It’s amazing the stuff you can find if you dig deep enough or ask the people living there.

I don't know if you left Bariloche already but you may wanna search for El proyecto Huemul and the secret intent of a fusion reactor. Its located on an island in a lake, i believe its only accesible by watercraft of any sort. I've seen people do it by kayak.

The Argentinian government helped them evade justice and in return their scientists would put to the test their ideas for a 0% waste energy source, which if proven successful would put us back in the path to become a global power

I participate of internet forums where Fusion is the main subject, like Talk Polywell forums (Polywell being a fusion design from Bussard, which however failed to materialize (yet) due to lack of funding). But fusion is not necessarily cheap nor is there reason to do it SECRETLY. That's the question. With fission, when you enrich uranium, you might get WEAPONS GRADE PLUTONIUM. For nuclear bombs. But fusion? Why secret? ps: a fusion bomb is something completely different. But it depends on FISSION bomb... because it's the fission explosion which serves as a trigger to enable fusion.

Don't worry, it is very common in Argentina at that age to travel all over Patagonia as hitchhikers. That is why it is very common to take them if you see them on the road. It's very safe.

They are not bums, they are very young people on the first adventure of their lives. It is something so common, that a branch of the tourist organization of the region is dedicated to them.
