Well it depends on which level of angel one is speaking of. The top 3 tier of angels; Seraphim, Cherubim, and Thrones (depicted in the video) aren't usually witnessed by regular man. Those are only seen by prophets and apostles. The last three; Principalities, Arch-Angels, and Angels are the regular human looking angels that visit man. But a glowing flying human with wings would still be pretty terrifying at least initally.

Not really accurate. They're more like terrifying human-looking superhuman warriors. Shepherds back then were like Bear Grylls mixed with the Croc Hunter though, and it took a LOT to scare them. A batallion of celestial warriors did the trick.
