I'm currently doing a complete frame out restoration on a 2915 Argo 750HDi 8x8 I bought 2 months ago. I just posted the first video of the rebuild series on my new KZbin channel. The Admiral transmission seems like it's going to be a PITA to pull out.

I think the alternator kit is an option. Without an alternator electricity is made with a magneto. The manual say to start by charging the battery.

Mine is an HDI about that year. I’ve serviced the trans, but never had to tear it down.

I struggled today to suck very much oil out of the tranny. Do you actually get the 1200ml out of it? I even jacked the front of the argo way up and still only was able to get about 300ml of fresh gear oil into it, after extraction, before being half way up on the sight glass. I just find the gearing so close to the drain hole that I can’t get my nylon suction line down in there. I’m thinking I need like a flexible silicone line or to make an adapter on the end on my nylon one (it’s not very flexible). Any thoughts??
@RaisedinAlaska10 ай бұрын
I use a small hose to get past the gears. The 80/90 oil is thick so it’s difficult to suck out. I run my machine, to heat up the transmission oil, before I suck it out or I put heater on the transmission to warm it up before I suck the oil out.

I grease all the bearings every time I take it out. It is common that outings find me in the water, so greasing the bearings pushes the water out. I change the engine and transmission oil annually.

I just called the All Seasons Argo dealership in Anchorage and they told me that might be something you would do with a snowmachine or a side-by-side where you’re running 8000 to 10,000 RPMs, however in an Argo you’re never really going to exceed 4000 to 5000 RPMs and so it’s not something that you would need to do because the RPMs are not high enough do you need a little bit a slip when you first engage it the clutch.
@jamiehalifax49543 жыл бұрын
@@RaisedinAlaska don't forget it is a stealership. they likely don't sell silicone spray so they dont want you to go anywhere else cause when you see how much argo overcharges for their grease ,batteries etc you'll never go back..lol.🤣 Thanks for checking though👍
