It probably is. The eye is extremely similar to tsumemon’s, argomon is extremely similar to diaboromon in terms of design and abilities and this new villain is linked with the “great catastrophe”. You know what one of diaboromon’s moves is called? CATASTROPHE CANNON!!!

If there is a second season, I think it would be cool is the one above argomon takes what he learns from the relationships between the digidestined and their partners, and somehow uses that to bring in the cast from 02 and their partners. Like maybe they are brainwashed by the enemy and their digimentals/armor digivolutions were made using the data the big bad collected from observing the digidestined.

They finally did some explanation to their first enemy Argomon, who is an artificial "hive mind" army, just like the second enemy Eyesmon, both created by this unknown "main antagonist". Wonder what is the purpose for their "experiment", to see if they are strong enough to fight, or is it for soemthing else? I don't mind if it's something darker.

Assuming Argomon's boss wants to understand why the bond between humans and digimon works so it can gain power and the kids do defeat him somehow in the few remaining episodes, I don't think that would be the end of him since I can imagine humans would take an interest in him, or digimon in genral, that would not only make it possible for him to come back in the next season but also it would imply he "plans" to be defeated by them now but later have his own group of humans to work for him if he can understand emotional bond. Human antagonist like Ken, Oikawa, Kurata. and Maki might be born from all of this but in a different format. We've seen that kids have watched some of the battles between the digimon in the real world so it's plausible a really sad-messed up-lonley kid or devious adult watched this too and will make plans to harness Argomon's boss's power after this ends. My Question for DigiKnow: Given everything that is happening along with the posibility of a second season, do you think that this version of Adventure is kind of meant to relfect the story of our eight chosen onces being the "first" digidestined here but in the next season more children will get digimon because of their actions against Argomon's boss? Kind of like how the original talked about the first digidestined that came before them but they only sealed the Dark Masters while the original eight actually defeated them. PS: Enjoy your break.

What really bothers me about the current arc is that the whole Millenniumon setup seems pointless... I mean, that monster literally ripped through entire continents and we didn't see the consecuences of that event. Hopefully it wraps up for the season finale.

I am glad that the focus was on Agumons viewpoint during this episode and taichi had a back seat. And unlike some of the other episodes. I kind of liked this one. It showed just enough to understand where they are going. Plus. It set the stage for the next antagonist without revealing everything

I thought Agumon's trial here was really great. Even though Taichi and Agumon are everywhere, they don't actually get a lot of focus as characters. So getting that, and having it portrayed through _Agumon_ instead of Taichi, and having that be shown to progress them to their Crest, was really enjoyable to me. I always love when the Digimon partners get a chance to develop. As for the mysterious something bringing the Great Catastrophe, I think it probably is a Digimon rather than a digital entity like D-Reaper or something else, though its origins are likely abnormal. I'm also a little curious about why it's testing specifically the power produced by the bond between human and Digimon. It might just be trying to see how much of a threat they are, or maybe it's looking to find a way to match that power. Maybe with a partner of its own? Anyway, great episode. And I'm ecstatic for another Hikari-centered episode next week. Kind of bizarre that the next "Digimon" teased is a Digi-Egg.

I'm glad it's getting back to an overarching story. I've really enjoyed the post millenniumon arc so far but it feels too late into the show at some points. Also it doesn't necessarily need to be a full new season if the show doesn't end on ep66, they might do a movie for the finale

Yep, Algomon is the same entity the kids (Tai and Matt) fought back in the first arc, That Algomon did digivolve into its ultimate form that we saw here and then became its mega form which is still Algomon btw (just like Arkadimon, it retains its name but its level, appearance and power change). The Algomon Mega form Tai and Matt fought alongside Omnimon was destroyed but we saw more Algomon afterwards meaning that this particular digimon act almost like a single mind. This explains why this Algomon remembers Tai. That said its evolution sequence was very good. I am glad the put some more budget forward for this episode even though MetalGreymon AM had the same recycled animations he's had since his debut episode. That said he does get a new attack: Alteros Blade which looked really cool. Also Wargreymon actually using his Terra Force with budget once more was really nice too. Back in episode 1 there was giant black sphere seen that another viewer pointed out ages ago and we see it again along with that area in the network that Tai and Agumon first met. It means that the kids are going to eventually go back to the beginning. At least now we know that Algomon is the enemy's second-in-command. Also you can see a flock of Soundbirdmon around the sphere too, interesting to know as Devimon utilised them a lot. We still don't know anything yet on who this enemy is. Given that its the prophesized "Great Catastrophe", it stands to reason that this thing is ancient. It also hates the human race as we've seen in its actions where it has tried to destroy Tokyo several times and been the one responsible for ultimately resurrecting Millenniummon too. The episode overall was alright. Definately more on the creepy side but it didn't feel like Tai was in danger. Also I wish we had gotten BlitzGreymon this episode but other than that, the episode was fine, we at least got some lore albeit cryptic.

I have 2 Possible Options on who Algomons Creator is. 1. Yggdrasil (the host computer for the Digital world) which fits into the role for 2 reasons. 1.1. He supposedly has the power to destroy the entire Digital World. 1.2. He has an Intrest in the Power the chosen ones posses as well as watches ther every move. 2. Ken Ichijouji (from Digimon Adventure 02) the way Algomon frases his mission ("to confirm the powers born from the Partnership of Humans and Digimon who have survived up until now") Ken could have Created Algomon to have influence in the Digital world but was defeated before he could reach it, by other children and now wants to copy the power therefore needs the information. Which would lead to a Transition into an Adventure 02 reboot perfectly. Not sure on neither on these possibilities.

Review: This episode left me unimpressed. I hoped this episode to give me some new information about the last villain (appearance, more detail about The Great Catastrophe, connection on Millenniummon, motive of villain, something else surprising that I cannot think right now), but we only got the location of his/her whereabouts and confirmation that Algomon is not the final villain or at least not directly or black orb is Algomon Super Ultimate +++ deluxe. Now I'm just left too unsatisfied by the lack of new information. Taichi wasn't the main problem for me in this episode, but how he and Agumon were used. It felt like a really clichéd, the strong bond we had already seen a couple of times before in this reboot between these characters. IDK, it didn't buy me this time. And fight scenes weren't really that great, but it doesn't matter in this context. At least Algomon (perfect (human form)), was able to talk other than Google translator voice so I give a big plus for that. BTW, I liked how there were different Taichi clones (happy, angry, and sad), but I thought where's horny Taichi: "Harder Algomon!!!" 😏

I loved this episode. It had some strong Tamers vibes and I'm all for that - especially the Eldritch horror with Algomon. The animation was A++. And actually, I liked the part with multiple Taichi's as it not only it could be an inside joke, but also it shows that his bond with Agumon is as strong as the bonds between the original 01 Agumon and Taichi, which I find lacking in the new cast with few exceptions. Also, I really want to see Ryo being the big bad even though I know it's wishful thinking. Also, have a good relaxing weekend next week ♥️

5:20 I should point out that the Void has been taking advantage of human curiosity with how much they were buzzing in social media during incidents created by the Void via the Algomon, Eyesmon, and so on. So it's been using humans for its' own ends for a while already even though they were directed to Moonmilleniumon at the time. If we are to make a figuratively better Digimon 02 and make it an actual sequel to Adventure 2020, the Void after its' "demise" manages to escape into the unknown parts of the Network and worm its' way to some computer in the human world. After having studied enough from the Digidestined to understand the evolution granted by the bond of human and digimon, he searches the network and with today's technology finding a kid with a not so good background is as easy as pie. The Void reaches out to that kid like the devil and that kid accepts and you guys fill the rest because I am fresh out of plausible ideas here.

Barbamon is the final villain. If you read Deathmons lore bio he’s not an evil Demon Lord but more of a neutral figure that unfortunately is easily Manipulated by Barbamon and turns from the grey to the black god of destruction form

Honestly, I thought it's entirely Taichi show again in this ep. But the identity of the Great Catastrophe aka the true final boss of this series is revealed, I'm kinda amazed tbh. At last, there's some progression in the story plot. It produces hype around the Final boss. I hope this isn't rushed like Millenniummon's one. As for the Great Catastrophe, a lot people think that it's Deathmon. But I think it may be the Super Ultimate form of Argomon (an Armageddemon equivalent form).

Bro what IF they lose whomever the final villain is is just too strong for megas, too strong for Omegamon, and Omegamon Alter S. The 6 kids and their digimon use their power to send Takeru and Hikari along with Patamon and Gatomon back to Tokyo. While the others are trapped in the digital world and the link gets sealed off. Some years go by and Takeru and Hikari get contacted by Ichiro who finally somewhat restored the link, but the bad news is all the digimon have been infected by a virus that came from the villain. The virus changes their evolution and has them under the evil digimons control. (Its revealed to be the X-Antibody). Takeru and Hikari return to the digital world, and are instantly attacked by WargreymonX and MetalGarurumonX. MagnaAngemon and Angewomon are beaten and realize they cannot digivolve into mega. (Its due to them being infected by the X-Antibody as well, but they're Holy digimon so they didnt get corrupted but got weakened.) Hikari and Takeru return to Tokyo to regroup realizing they need help. Ichiro reveals that theres more to the crest and while their power is in each of their 6 digimon, there are ancient digimon that could hold the power of multiple Crest (Veemon, Hawkmon, Armadillamon) but they were lost before the great war. And awakening them could help Takeru and Hikari. The 6 kids split up searching for the ancient digimon Taichi and Matt go locate Veemon Ichiro and Joe go locate Armadillamon Mimi and Sora locate Hawkmon When they do find them Davis, Cody and Youle, who are bestriends of Takeru and Hikari are transported to the digital world with Takeru and Hikari to meet their partners and stop the virus spreading

Thank you for these weekly videos, I stopped watching the new season after about episode 4 because I was bored. A mixture of me being too old at 24 to enjoy Digimon like I used to, a somewhat recycled story, and an overall not-so-great series in terms of narrative quality. But still, it's been great to watch your recaps to see how the series went.

For me that didn't reveal anything critical information about Great Catastrophe. What on earth is that creator of Argomon? I start to believe that it's digimon we've never seen before, and taking it from size of that giant orb, this digimon is probably enormous, maybe as big as Milleniumon was.

Honestly, I would not really know what it is planning. It might be like digimon 02, and decide to destroy the entire digital world and might even try to harm earth as well. Or it's trying to gain complete control over both worlds for it's own advantage. Who knows.

As if it wasn't obvious enough the Algomon would be connected to the Great Catastrophe just like the Eyesmon were. I said before about that dark sphere thing within the network that created them. For most of the series, the Algomon and whatever digimon were created from that black void were aligning themselves with Devimon and FAGA so those Digimon themselves would bring an end to the Digital World which will cause chaos to the real world for them. However, now with all of them gone, the Void have started taking direct action and they are now observing the Digidestined and seeing how they will progress. The end goal of the Void is to bring all to oblivion. What we got this episode although it was again Taichi and Agumon, it was the progenitors of the Great Catastrophe hailing them but in extension they are hailing all the Digidestined as well. I actually don't think that whole mind game the Algomon did on Agumon was redundant. I mean NONE of them were the real Taichi while the real one was all the way on the back. That may have been an experiment but it was a mind trap on Agumon making him think Taichi is among one of those when none of them are. The Algomon have not talked before until now and the Algomon have created a humanoid form of themselves that is an amalgamation of their thoughts I believe. The humanoid Algomon is like their hypothetical Gravemind. Honestly, I figured that Dark void in the network had something to do with the it all since again it created the Algomon and Eyesmon to begin with during the past couple of episodes already. Anyone who hasn't figured that out is quite brain dead but at least this episode confirmed my speculations to be true.

I haven't watched the episode yet, but I think we might be getting a new digital entity from this series. Also based of your synopsis it sounds like we may also be dealing with a multiverse enemy maybe?? Since it made a comment about the different types of digivolutions granted by human. Throughout the franchise we've had many forms so maybe (mostly I'm hoping) that after this series the creators are going to connect all the different digimon series through that in between place

I think season 2 will happen maybe even show a different earth. Like have the 02 digidestend. Ether with a T.K. and Hikari that went through different experiences and a different life. Maybe even swap them out for different ones like with the tamers mixed in with 02. Like this digimon is somehow attacking other earths of different universes. Or have season 2 be about the previous digidestend that came before the kids that they were captured and corrupted like what happened with Devimon. Or this being studied them and made it's own digidestend which could be Davis and the other 02 kids and Ryo Ken's brother. A twist that might be cool is if the Tai who had Vedramon shows up. Like they have been fighting this thing over different universes. Maybe even show the others as apart of his world and they they two also have royal knight digimon. Or something equally cool.
