This reminded me of the time Heizou released, I wanted him SO BAD. 60 something pulls, 1 kazuha, 1 mona, c5 ningguang, AT LEAST C3 thoma, not a SINGLE heizou. I was devastated.

Got my first Heizou after 173 pulls T_T My 2nd Heizou I was lucky on the weapon banner (so he doesn't really count into statistics of rate-up banners). My 3rd one was "easy" again, only 48 pulls in 3.2. Now then, it didn't end there... To get the last 4 Cons I needed ANOTHER (exactly) 300 pulls in 3.7... which means I needed a total of 521 pulls to pull Heizou 6 times (to make him c6). That means I needed a total of ~87 pulls on average per Heizou on a banner he was rate-up on... Being a Heizou Main has been wild and I am honestly glad I got to make him c6 on the last banner he was on... The only positive thing for me was that he had been Kazuha's banner two times, whom I wanted to make c6 as well. So I had been saving for him anyways. I really hope Hoyo is going to do something about 4 Stars because it has been really frustrating for me so far... xD

When Wanderer was first released I had about 350 pulls saved because he is one of my favorite characters and since he needs faruzan to work well I was pretty confident that this amount would be enough to get a decent chunk of her cons as well (in my dream of dreams I dared be optimistic for even a c6). In the end I got c3 wanderer and can we guess how many faruzans. because the answer is one. and that one towards the final pulls. absolutely ridiculous

it does seem like on wanderer's banner she tends to not want to come home xD I was fortunate enought to c6 her on xianyun's and nahida's banner in 200 pulls, I spend around 350 pulls on this last wanderer banner, got his c0, c1 and c2, faruzan only appeared 3 times during those pulls, I c6-ed layla and beidou (layla from c0 and I didnt have beidou previously) within 300 pulls bcs of that xD

This is why KUROgames is love: 1. A ranks and s ranks are released separately in punishing gray raven and a perma selector is always present for a ranks, weapons, Cubs and uni frames. Despite the differences in gameplay, it’s a perfect way to drastically clean out clutter and not have todo much on revisiting old stuff when trying to pad out new limited banners. Which this crap really screams hard for signature weapons and even special 4 star weapons. And punishing gray raven still has the exchange shop to let you melt duplicates of maxed out on units and a mostly unrestricted frag farm of 2 a day for each a rank that can magnify owning multiple a ranks to max triple s plus to scrap frags at 3 frags a frag of choice for the stamina surplus burners. Ultimately, mihoyo wants to keep forcing that FOMO to panick spend instead of making it easy to catch up. This is why honkai impact 3rd is a shite show of FOMO pains in general even years back. Meanwhile wuthering waves not only giving away so many 5 star units and ease of acquistion of weapons, it makes the gap of acquistion absurdly different, despite it and gen’stingie both use the 50/50 pull banner.

Free 5 stars is because of how much they flopped on release for mobile players, another free 5 star for some reason is clearly for player retention in a dead patch when Genshin has its biggest patch of the year and the weapon banner is guaranteed because you’re expected to get them for each 5 star. There’s a huge difference between a 4 star and 5 star weapon in Wuwa so that kinda evens out the whole guaranteed weapon part, in Genshin the difference isn’t so massive.

Gorou is a support for a mono geo, there aren't many geo DPSs in general and there's only maybe 3 geo DPSs, itto, Noelle and navia. Only itto is suitable for mono geo nowadays. Navia kit basically encourages double geo only while Noelle best teams have furina

For example people think that Wuwa fast paced exploration adds more enjoyment to the game versus Genshins slow traversal But by playing to a a gamers wishes to expedite the process your taking away there ability to be absorbed In the setting. Same with Gamba making it easier to get multiple 4 Star constellation doesn't make people happier it just lowers there value. You now no longer have that anticipation you basically start to ignore the purple and only care about the gold. The truth is that players don't actually know what's best only know what they might enjoy. Player want more skins but then you get HI3 issue where skins feel cheap because there throwing them at you every patch

8:47 there is a reason. The 4 stars are used to increase the value of the banners. A Kokomi banner with Xingque and Fischl is much better than with Kirara and Mika. It's a very dirty tactic considering how many 4 stars are in the game and how slowly they re run because of that but Hoyo is a very greedy company, especially the Genshin team, so it's not a surprise they haven't added any new 4 stars to shop

The anniversaries proved it, multiple banners proved it, and even the “genshit could never” meme from HSR players proved it. That’s why they’re adding these tiny little QOL things and for two anniversaries in a row, they’ve given more than they wanted to initially. They want to get extra money and give you crumbs. It’s just unfortunate that Genshin, the biggest Gacha right now, does it at this level. Funny enough, Hi3 has way too many units for me to keep up with. But, even I know that trying to grab all of them is a death wish for one’s wallet and to focus on my regular lineup unless new mechanics are made for the game. “Power creep” should really just be a thing when a unit introduces a new mechanic or does the same thing as, at least, two different characters but better (HSR’s Huo Huo being better than Luocha/Tingyun or Aventurine being better than March 7th/Gepard by miles) and the chances to pull that character is manipulated to the point of getting at least only one copy without opening a wallet. None of these are Nikke. We’re still fine amidst all of this.

2:39 well, no. chronicle banner actually allows to obtain 4stars in its pool with a much higher chance than in standard banner. For last chronicle there were only mondstadt characters and mondstadt weapons, including kaeya-amber-lisa. The only thing I wish for is that they would put chronicle at least twice a year. But right now it seems like it would be a X.5 special banner.

one frustrating thing abt their refusal to rerun newer 4 stars is that 4 stars, especially newer ones, are balanced around players eventually getting their c6, and some like faruzan and candace basically need their c6 to be playable. most older players have c6s on most of the earlier 4 stars. ive been playing since 1.4, and all of my 1.x units are c6 besides xinyan and the starter units, my lowest con 2.x unit is c2, and my 3.x and 4.x units range from c0 to c6 (but only lynette and collei are c6). id love to get cons on a lot 4 stars, some to play in a specific team (like arle vape with c6 candace) but a lot just for the sake of collection. like im so sick of seeing 1.x and 2.x units on banners when i think most ppl want units they dont have maxxed out

13 months without Kuki Shinobu for me. She was featured once on the rather awful Ayato/Cyno banner, and while I did risk some ~20 pulls despite not wanting either 5-star, she obviously didn't come. As I do not really want Raiden, I have yet to properly experience the "most f2p friendly" team build of hyperbloom after more than a full year of play.

@@Bullminator The current abyss was my second 36-star abyss, cleared mainly through Keqing aggrevate and the newly pulled Nilou bloom, with Ayaka freeze coming in where necessary. Keqing in particular can be a die-a-lot team, so I can probably deal with hyperbloom too. It's just a bit silly that I'm running my favourite unit (Nahida) in everything except her poster team because a 4-star just won't come.

Thank you genuinely for this comment, I don't interact with the Genshin community as much outside of the game aside from consuming KZbin content and I've been playing for 3 years. It makes me feel comforted knowing I wasn't the only one complaining about these EXACT things, nearly word for word. It is still crazy to me that they feel like they can have these features in their other games, just because they have a bias over those games. Sadly those points have been requested for (~3)years and we never got much of anything. Only recently Hoyo got somewhat of a competition, so they start to give us drops of QOLs like: the option to read previous dialogues, hide user interface, and a small bump on resin cap... Then there is the Theater... Ngl, it's a disappointment since it's just a solo circle fight mini-game with way too much restriction and not enough repeatability to have fun imo. It is truly saddening to have so much potential in a game but it seem that it's only treated as a slot machine for addicts first, then a game as an afterthought. Hopefully someone at Hoyo wakes up and start to change things around, but that's probably hopium as everyone loves to tells me. T^T

@ryokyko gosh, i relate so hard!! Imaginarium theater is neat, but it definitely just feels like another thing they added to say "see! We add content for end-game players. We care about you!" While proving that they absolutely do not care in the slightest because our requests for change take literal years to come into fruition - if ever. I think the competition coming up has only proven to be a good thing and I hope it gets them into action more. Because it's getting a lot harder to play. Just the fact that it took them until very recently to cap the resin to a 25 hour clock at least so you dont have to constantly be on, worrying about your resin cap is insane to me on it's own. Never mind that there isn't nearly enough resin for the sheer amount of characters resin needs anymore, with everyone's talents, level raising, and the god-forsaken artifacts which are still entirely out of our favor. I had to farm Itto's domain for over a year just to end up with a predominantly Atk% build because i got SO unlucky about getting Def% on any of his items. It needs a change, everything listed needs a change. I practically spam whoever is behind the genshin surveys with all of our pleas, hoping I'm not the only one saying something. It's sad that I may have to drop this game again some day, as I already came back a few months ago from a year-long burnout break but the more peoole willing to speak out on it. The more they might listen (I hope), it doesnt help that they don't care about their western audience and our strongest voices (predominantly streamer whales) dont feel a lot of the pain of dealing with some of these issues. I dont know. Despite that, I like to keep up hope! Maybe even if it is just a bit of coping or "hopium" as you stated lol. But I'm also autistic so it's been a comfort game since day one of me playing, and it's a lot harder for me to switch to similar games because change is hard for neurodivergent folks. I stand strong for the changes we need though, and I hope we get it because we deserve a game that listens!!

Sucrose is very good, but if you have Kazuha she's kind of redundant. Ofc she works in many similar teams and her taser team is good, but you can always find a Kazuha variant that's similar or better. I'd like to have a Mika just for collection purposes, but as the video discusses, getting one is nearly impossible unless he just happens to be on the same banner as a 5 star I want and even then.... took me 150 wishes for c1 Charlotte on her first banner, fortunately I only got the one 5 star I wanted on it..

The fact that when you get 2 4star characters in a row the next/3rd will guarantee a 4star weapon and vise versa So in every 30 pulls you're atleast guaranteed 1character 2weapons or vise versa oh but it doesn't stop there you have a chance to get an off banner character or the rate up character in the banner🤯🤯 and if you get the rate up banner you have a 33.3 percent chance to even get the character that you wanted and that percentage never goes up or down since there is no guaranteed so you could get a c6 5star(with/without 50-50 loss) without getting the rate up 4 star you wanted which is insane :t Its basically gambling with a gamble with a gamble

Like for most if not all of them don’t require long story progression or travel time to level them. Like with kuki you need to complete the liyue archon quest and the chasm quest to level her. Having world bosses locked behind quests is really an issue, the ammount of bosses that are locked like this is just ridiculous, it'd be slighly ok if it were just the 3 in special regions (the Chasm, Enkanomiya and Petrichor), but literally every single Inazuma boss is locked behind the archon quest, and out of the four, only one isn't locked behind a world quest on top of that. It seems they realised this is a problem after the 2.x era because after that only the Petrichor boss was locked behind a quest, but if they could add a feature for doing weekly bosses before unlocking them, why not do the same for world bosses? Just leaving the teleport point next to them open, idk

I had a break after Nahida's banner during Sumeru, came back to summer event of Sumeru then took a break until Fontaine around 4.2 and I really wanted Kuki & Kaveh. When Kaveh was back on Nilou's banner ended up getting a C2 Nilou before even getting 1 copy of Kaveh, got 2 Kuki somehow before Kaveh so can't complain too much. Getting specific 4 star characters is just awful. I really want to get more copies of certain 4 stars like Cheveruse, but still at c0.

Navia banner actually worked out for me as my first actual whole month playing. (I started in the middle of last month) I got Keqing who I was after, 2 Ningguang’s, 2 Kavehs and Kiara and Navia. So I was happy with my rolls

9:51 They made it harder. I tried for Sigewinne for the whole month an even Firena and i didn't win either of them An i spent $80 bucks on the game for wishes. So when i finally got a 5 star it was Diluc. I had a greater chance of getting him than the character on the Banner. I quit. It should be a garenteed chance on 30 wishes to get at least 2 5 stars an one of them should be the one on the banner.

And I decided to roll for Mualani the moment she was revealed on the 4.8 livestream, long before anyone knew whether she'd be good. Besides, often times characters are doomposted before their release but then it turns out they're actually not that bad.

i think they're saving the most wanted 4 star (chevy,heizou,kuki) for natlans banner, because not many people are interested in pulling particularly because of the design, therefore putting the most wanted 4 star can get them to spend some money at least to get them because the chances are really low to get certain 4 star

I think the reason we see 1.X 4-stars on banner so frequently is bcuz Hoyo wants new players to be able to pull for characters they can actually use right away. It's a good intention for new players but kinda screws over any new 4-stars that will be drowned out for months to a year at a time.

To be honest I was a bit irritated by everyone talking and complaining again about the 4 stars. I play Genshin for quite a time now, but always had the issue of restarting. Finally this year I got myself an account where I am pretty satisfied and focus on appreciating the game more, bla bla bla. So for me it's nice to see Xiangling again because rolling for Alrecchino only gave me ONE con for her. BUT after hearing you talk about this topic and the issues and thinking about it. It's true. This sucks and can't continue like this. Even for players who are unlucky getting 1.X characters (me who didn't get Fischl so I had to buy her from the shop) it still cannot be it that the SAME characters over and over get a rerun. Heizou is after Kazuha my second favourite Anemo character sitting at C0 for a long time now. Plus I hate how 4 star characters that I really like always appear in 5 star character banners I DON'T want 😩 I loved the ideas you mentioned and I would jump around if they'd really add at least something similar! Maybe the idea you mentioned with the fate points of the event banner could be also done somehow in the standard banner? Like you can choose one of the current 39 characters and after a specific amount of pulls you get them guaranteed (or something else idk) It's just totally frustrating... I do need weapons more, but I feel like I keep getting the SAME weapons over and over and over. Please Hoyoverse do something Oh and one more thing: I enjoyed the sarcasm you added in this video 😂

There is nothing wrong with being happy that a 4 star you want is on the next banner, even if it is that 4 star's third banner in a short time. Everyone has different targets, and in the end it's pretty much impossible for everyone to be happy with the 4 star lineup. But I still wanted to talk about the underlying issue. I'm glad I was able to convince you. It would be nice if they implemented epitomized path for both the character banner and standard banner, but at this point it would be a small miracle if they even did it for one of them. I'm still hopeful, but deep down I don't think they'll make any significant changes to the 4 star gacha system anytime soon - people have been asking for newer characters to get more banners or be put in the shop for quite a while now, so Hoyo is definitely aware of the problem, yet they still haven't done anything about it, instead they just continue making it worse by giving old characters like Xiangling a banner every 2 or 3 patches while Heizou is dead in a ditch (much like Kaveh before him).

When Scaramouche 1st came with Faruzan i got reallyyyy lucky and i was able to get c5 even tho i didn't get Scaramouche, EVER SINCE HER 1ST BANNER ive been pulling for the last con of faruzan and i still haven't gotten it LITERALLY. i either don't have any primo left to pull anymore or im saving up my pity for the 5* i want and i find it ridiculous how i still haven't gotten that last constellation and she only reruns with anemo dps characters ughhhh.

As a player who started in 1.2, I have c6 of all the 1.0 characters (excluding Lisa and Amber who are c4, and Kaeya is c6). I have no reason (other than to c6 Lisa and Amber) to spend my starglitter other than secure myself extra wishes. And let's not forget that Chongyun and Sucrose aren't even in the shop rotation despite being 1.0 characters. If they were to add all the 4 stars from 1.x, they'd have a perfect number to add for each month (Chongyun, Sucrose, Diona, Xinyan, Rosaria, Yanfei).

The problem here is, that Hoyo usually puts 4 stars who have great synergy with the limited 5 star on their banners. Which isn't a problem on it's own, until you realize that Xiangling is the only 4 star pyro unit with off field element application. Yes, I know Thoma exists, but his pyro application is so slow that it becomes severly limiting. The way he applies pyro also reduces the likelihood of burning reaction, making him perfect for burgeon but with Emilie, who's kit is centered around the burning reaction, it's not really great. The only other ways to avoid Xiangling in this scenario is either using on field pyro DPS, locking Emilie as the off field dendro applicator, or use your environment, mainly grass, by lighting it on fire. Of course, you can't do the later in an environment with no grass, wood or anything that can catch on fire, so it won't work in domains, vast majority of the desert and underground. And with the former, it doesn't really feel like you're playing Emilie, but rather the pyro DPS. Xiangling is the only reliable option besides that. Her, Thoma and Dehya are the only off field pyro units in this game. Thoma's main weakness for many teams was already mentioned and I don't think I need to say anything about Dehya. A lot of teams need Xiangling, because there's no other option. It's also the point that the Xiangling copypasta makes, there's no other option. They have to give Xiangling a rerun or put a totally random 4 stars on the banner, because there's no one else at this moment (hoping it changes with Natlan) who have good synergy with Emilie. And honestly, at this point I don't really care about synergy with the 5 star as it's always the same characters over and over again for this exact reason, there isn't a better option. Hoyo cares, however.

When pulling for Kaveh I got a C25 Ninguan, multiple Lions roars, a Bell and a Navia. And zero Kavehs. I’m pretty miffed about that. I do have a C6 Kaeya. it took 3 years but now he’s perfect. And I keep getting his constellation when they aren’t so precious anymore. (BTW The new regional banner surprisingly has the starter 4stars as well. Don’t know if we see that ever again tho. )

Another thing is, dendro as an element was only released in 3.0, which means that if someone didn't pull any dendro 5 stars, there is the possibility of their only dendro characters from 3.0 up to the last summer event that gave away a Kirara being Collei and the dendro traveller. For me, for an entire year my only dendro characters were those two and Yaoyao. I got to C6 Collei and C5 Yaoyao before i got any other dendro 4 stars.

The character choice on banners is always related to either running event content or more rarely new content in general. Because of the new player experience and because they don't want characters to collect dust, older units are seen in event content more often creating the influx of older units on the banners. Getting a certain featured 4* takes already on average around 40 pulls while a featured 5* takes 62,5 pulls. The 4* paradox is just feelscraft. However if we include that many 4* units need constellations (Faruzan, Kaveh just to name a few really bad ones) then we are talking. The 50/50 odds of getting character or weapon on character banner are more tailored towards weapons because after the featured rule, the next strongest rule is the 2-1 rule (which states that after getting 2 characters in a row you will a weapon and vice versa). I would like the changes you suggested added to the game however I don't think it will be added because then there isn't a unlimited upper spending for whales. Also I think we almost have an equal amount of 4* and 5* in the game. This just adds to the "4*-paradox". 4* are a lot easier to obtain because they are given away in certain points in the game, events and how the shop and gacha works however the amount of needed constellations and overall characters in the game just make it harder to get your head around. Also I have a deep hate for anyone who says Kaveh is a viable character. You get him for his personality and his 3rd passive and nothing more. He is borderline unplayable until c6 and even with it he isn't a good option in his best teams.
