Chloe's little cutscene with Haley was so cute! It really added to this video.
@gnostechnician9 ай бұрын
The production quality here is insane, I'm super impressed. Not just by the challenge, but the storytelling is so well done, the graphics and the intermission cutscene, the animations, it's incredible. As an aside, the Haley cutscene hits different when you think about how you're resetting one day over and over. I'm imagining that Chloe told her about the time loop in the days between the 11th and the 15th, and after that, over and over again she'd see her wife coming back exhausted for the second time that was actually years of attempts she'd never see. More work put into the challenge than she'd ever be able to understand, but she remains supportive even in the lowest point. Even on the day the time loop could have ended and they could have seen spring come, she encouraged Chloe to follow her dreams into eternity once more. Is this reading too much into it? Maybe. Probably. But it's nice to think about as a metaphor for the video as a whole. And it's just a nice story to imagine.

It is immensely disappointing to me how this video has less than 200k views in 3 weeks. This is genuinely the best stardew video, potentially even the best video I've seen on KZbin. I started watching this, merely having it in the background. Often times, I'll watch video essays or documentaries or long videos like this in the background while I do other things. However, this video latched me so easily because of how amazing the storytelling was. This wasn't just a video about fishing in a game about farming. This was a story on one person's determination and motivation to complete the impossible. The way this video was formatted was so compelling and motivating that it truly wants me to fuel my determination in my own life. All of that's not even mentioning how incredible the editing is, especially right before the climax with all of the attempts before 583, following through how tense and lucky the final attempt was. That section was easy to follow, enunciated key points of information that added toward the conflict (such as the time, repeat catches, etc.), and was able to cleanly make a shift from a lighthearted nature that fueled the watcher's motivation along with Chloe to a more tense feeling as the time started to run down and the final fish were being caught. Despite being an hour and a half long, the mix between phenomenal storytelling and compelling editing made every minute of this video enjoyable to watch. I've never been the kind of person to leave comments or reviews on things, but I felt the need to express - potentially to no one wanting to read a long paragraph of a response - how much I love this video. This is the kind of videos I could write essays about for school or for college. This is the kind of video that can motivate me toward achieving my own goals. This is the kind of video that can lead people to become better people. All from 90 minutes about fishing in a farming game. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for creating this masterpiece.

As a matter of fact, as soon as you started talking about getting fishing experience without catching any fish, I immediately thought of my boyfriend having to use the town fountain until level 3 fishing (Which I informed him of) in our joint standard mode Perfection Randomizer, so that he could use crab pots from the Community Center for one of his fishing goals. We have... so many decorative trashcans. I even wanted to pause the video to start writing this comment up, but stopped myself in case I accidentally saw spoilers. I'm really glad I did. What felt like me reviewing my study notes for what I thought was a quiz, actually turned out to be a test. Once you mentioned the curiosity lure and how wild bait increases bite frequency, I leaned in to listen for what else I didn't know. Then the Emily Dance bit started playing and I felt my eyes tearing up from the love poured into the editing, chair-dancing as the fish in rainbows darted across the screen. I had been astonished by how much effort was already put into this video, but that sent it over the top. And then that kept escalating. And then there was an entire cutscene that was accurately portrayed, even to my incredibly picky NPC dialogue standards. I had this feeling in my chest that there was no way you'd settle, but with attempt X36 I felt the absolute burnout from thousands of miles away. Most people would've given up then. Most people would've been fine with the reduced goal. Most people would've settled even before THAT. But this is Argon Matrix we're talking about. Your knowledge and persistence has grown so much since the No Level Up Challenge, not just in SDV, but in script writing and especially in editing. I was in tears throughout the entirety of that last segment. I felt like an avid fan at a sports-ball tournament. I didn't dare pause the video, because I didn't want to see how much time was left. I even hid my face from my boyfriend in a video call so he couldn't gauge my reaction, because as soon as his holiday vacation starts, you better believe I'm watching this again with him. I jumped up out of my chair and cheered and clapped. And the fact it had some of my favorite numbers in it too was just *Chef's kiss* perfection. Your commitment to this challenge is inspiring! I mean it. Not only that, but I feel editing this took even longer than the actual challenge. It was so clean and refined! I am so. Dang. Proud of you, Argon. Finding you and this community through KZbin's algorithm has affected my life in ways I never knew would be possible. Thank you, for being you. And thank you for this amazing video. 💖

Thank you so much for such a long and thoughtful comment! Reading about your experience with the video makes me so happy; I'm glad it worked so well for you. That Emily Dance part might be my favourite segment of the entire thing honestly, and it was definitely the turning point where I decided to go all out in my editing and really put myself to the test. I'm glad that shone through! Glad you were able to find this community and have become such an amazing member of it! This video is the least I can offer as thanks for this incredible community full of amazing, loving people like yourself. Much love! 💖

"Well done" and "Congratulations" fall flat next to what you deserve to hear for all the late nights, research, and game-time you put into this. You've accomplished so much! I'm so proud of you, and I hope you're incredibly proud of yourself too!

i can't even IMAGINE the amount of time this took between setup, actually catching all of the fish, and then EDITING AND ANIMATING A FULL HOUR AND A HALF VIDEO on top of all of that. incredible work. i genuinely don't think anyone else could do this.

I’m in tears right now. That ending was amazing! Probably the greatest video you’ve ever put out. I’m so glad you kept going despite the setbacks all that time ago when you first showed that teaser. I’m so grateful for this and am definitely going to watch it again. It was super worth the wait!

Just like with the minimum level community center video, this one has immediately become a comfort video ive watched 4+ times in the past 2 days. The presentation, the animation, the voice over - all of it is perfect. Be proud for making one of the best Stardew Valley Videos on youtube!

I've been watching this video on and off for days. I echo all the sentiments of everyone else on bit only your crazy determination and intelligence for rhis challenge, bur also the interstellar storytelling and editing throughout the ENTIRE video. This took an incredible amount of work and it shows.

Holy moly, dude...... I remember finding you through your Level 0 community center completion challenge and watching some of your streams for the Price of Perfection, and I have to say- you've come a long way, for real. From your channel, to your streaming identity, to your editing skill *Prowess* that's only gotten even stronger, it's been incredible to see you shine with all your tenacity and effort. Even so many little details, like Chloe using the Copper Axe throughout the video where the rest of her tools were all iridium, and Haley's little appearances through the video up to that heartfelt animation clearly written with so much love and care for the characters both, brought a smile to my face when watching- even though it's been a good while since I've caught a stream proper, I wanted to say I'm really proud of how far you've come. May cactus fruits and smelly fish be ever in your garbage cans.

Thank you very much! I kept a lot of little details like that in mind while working on this, and I'm glad it shows! I appreciate the kind words 💖

Wow, unbelievable!! Not only does this run showcase your skill and dedication, but your amazing editing and beautiful storytelling. I wasn’t expecting to be so moved by your journey, but would it be weird if I said I nearly cried?! I don’t know, I thought during the in-character interlude between Chloe and Haley that you were about to make a joke about how Haley was getting fed up with the fishing obsession, but instead she turned out to be so kind and supportive.. that actually meant a lot to me. 🥺 Such an incredible run and so inspiring to see, thank you for sharing this experience with us! It reminded me how much I love the Stardew community and all the crazy things we do here, just because we all love this game THAT MUCH. :)

I can't remember the time I was more engaged in the video and the challenge itself, 1st half made me want to do it myself (and there's still a curiosity inside, wanting me to attempt it), but this was such a ride, I can't believe how much hard work, time and planning went into this, it went from a simple sounding challenge to a literal miracle. The excitement I've had when the lava eel was hooked, and the happiness I felt when it was caught were truly from the bottom of my heart. I hope you and Chloe had one long, long rest after this, because it was way more than deserved!

You know the feeling when you see a human being do something and you feel glad that you are the same species? To me, you are one of those people. Your determination and patience give me hope. It might be a silly video game, but it shows off these qualities in you. Thank you for this experience!

This genuinely put my jaw on the floor, I did not expect this video to be as well edited and paced as it is. And to see a challenge be fully completed with no compromises like this, amongst the many challenge videos that do, even though you had every reason to, is a true testament to your dedication and love for this. With the way this challenge video was edited like as if the player was actually doing this challenge in the stardew valley world, seeing that cutscene, it felt like a loving partner supporting a god that had to keep resetting the same day for years, in despair over the futility of her challenge as hailey watches the same crystals of snow fall every morning. It felt like hailey was so happy that the challenge was finally over, that the sun can finally rise anew for tomorrow.. But, seeing the one she cares about and loves so much be in such confliction, she reminds her that she is willing to wait, every repeated day over and over, for as long as it takes, waiting... Waiting for her love to succeed. And thats beautiful i think Amazing video, argon. I'm glad youtube recommended me this

This comment was at risk of being in all caps from the emotional crisis I'm going through right now. I mean, the editing? The cutscene? The sheer determination? This is the best video I've ever seen. I was there during most of your other challenge streams and let me tell you, if the cactus fruit moment is half as good as this video is, my tears will be enough to water a farmful of starfruit. Amazing!

Wow, I can't imagine how long this must have taken you to plan, record, and edit. And such a good idea for a stardew challenge video! I honestly didn't think you would be able to do it. I'm so glad I didnt skip to the end! This is so much higher quality than I was expecting from a smaller channel. Great editing, love the custom cutscene too!

Another thing to do that can help is to use Bubbles. Enter location, open menu, take snapshot, open snapshot on your computer, and see where Bubbles are. Works very well to look for forageables, monsters, and resources also. Animation cancelling is another thing that can save time. I absolutely love your editing skills ♥ You made whole story here with Stardew characters. Thank you ♥

Not sure if anyone else noticed this, but i see you caught a statue in the pirate cove. I was going to recommend trying to fish that up in advance, but I believe that in Salmence’s low% run, they found that fishing up an object removed the tutorial prompt fishing session, which while not a game-ender, would make the Legend a much harder catch.
@ArgonMatrix11 ай бұрын
It would remove the tutorial prompt, yeah, which is the main reason I didn't fish up anything like Golden Walnuts beforehand. In the case of that particular statue, I think you can get multiples of it anyway, so it wouldn't have made a difference regardless I believe. But good thinking!

This is by a mile the highest quality youtube video I've watched. I'm not even exaggerating. Absolutely blown away, and the ending had me shaking in my seat. I put this on from random youtube recommendations to kill some time since I'm sick today, thinking "of course there's no way you can catch every fish in Stardew Valley in one day, that's impossible!" and I was absolutely astonished at not only your ingenuity but by the level of inscrutable detail that went into this project. Way to absolutely kick ass!
