Aria is often accused of mimicking Iron Maiden, but no matter who they were influenced by, who can deny the sheer badass quality of this band! Tight riffs, and Kipelov's operatic voice is on a par with Bruce Dickinson's.

I would have said they sound more like Priest (on a few songs at least.)

You are right. Almost one-to-one copy is Встань, Страх Преодолей = Jawbreaker. I would call it..."being influenced by", but yeah...they have "borrowed" the jawbreaker. Oh, well, Aria's version might even be better than the Judas's.

Oh yes, probably. But what struck me first was the chorus on "Volya i Razum" , very reminiscent of "You've Got Another Thing Comin' " .

Yep... So they did steal a little, but so did the Zeppelins, allegedly (a legal disclaimer :)). I guess when you are filled up with beer up to the brim and strumming your half-plugged-in guitar, the difference between stealing and inspiration is not well perceived... Still, Aria does rock, and Kipelov's voice is really something else. I hope you enjoy them anyway. "Hero of Asphalt" and "Play with Fire" are also very good albums, and more mature.
