Yes, definitely. One suggestion for sleep after rhinoplasty is either a wraparound neck pillow like you'd have on an airplane, or a backrest pillow with arms on either side to help keep your head steady and help prevent turning over in your sleep. Keeping your head elevated by using a pillow or two will allow you to reduce swelling in less time.

Had mine done two weeks. Biggest pain has been the internal incisions that are healing..they need to be moisturized round the clock with petro jelly. I use an ice pack wrapped in a napkin when Im watching TV. 10 min, 10 min off... also take night walks for my exercise. Taping is a pain... its caused nose outbreaks, but I agree it does its job in compression.... name of the game is patience.

I was told not to put anything in my nose at all. To smell saline to keep it moisturized. My surgery has been extremely painless. Congested feeling? Yep! But 0 pain and slight bruising on the bridge of my nose. That's it. So many scary images online but mine has been a total breeze. Stayed in a hotel the night of surgery and drove myself 2hours home the next day. It cost 11g Canadian but was worth every penny! Dr Jazz and Doctor Howely in Moncton Nb Canada are amazing! The entire staff are wonderful 🎉

Thanks for sharing your experience! It sounds like your recovery has been very smooth sailing so far - minimal pain, slight bruising, that's fantastic! It's important to follow your doctor's specific post-operative instructions, and it sounds like they advised against putting anything directly in your nose. Saline misting can be a great way to keep the nasal passages moist, just as you mentioned. While everyone heals at their own pace, it's important to manage expectations for others watching. Recovery experiences can vary, and some people may experience more swelling, bruising, and discomfort. We're thrilled you're having such a positive experience!

Yes, indeed. Although patients are different from each other regarding pain threshold, most patients report only mild discomfort after the procedure. In fact, rhinoplasty has a very high satisfaction rate (90%). Still, each person is different and should consider the pros and cons before taking action.

First of all, thank you for your good opinion about us. Sorry to hear that you're experiencing discomfort. It's not uncommon to have fluctuations in breathing and sensations after a nose surgery. Sometimes, swelling and healing can cause temporary changes in airflow. Regarding care instructions, it's possible that communication was missed or there might be specific post-operative guidelines. To address your concerns and ensure you have the right information, we recommend reaching out to your doctor directly. Your doctor can provide guidance on post-operative care, including any recommended nasal rinses or ointments. Your well-being is a top priority, and discussing these symptoms with your medical team will help ensure you receive the appropriate support. Please don't hesitate to contact them as soon as possible. Wishing you a smooth recovery.

@AriaMedTour Жыл бұрын
Swelling and bruising are common after nose surgery. The swelling will gradually subside during the first month to some extent but it takes a few months to completely fade away. The best remedy for swelling is the passage of time. Bruising will subside within 2-3 weeks following the surgery. It's been 3 days from my deviated nose surgery, I have blood cloths in my nose which is very much irritating how should I prevent it, and how to control sneezing as i sneezed 2 times and it was terribly painful for my nose.
@AriaMedTour6 ай бұрын
It's completely normal to have some blood clots in your nose three days after deviated septum surgery. These are part of the healing process. However, we understand it can be irritating. Here's what we recommend: ● Don't pick or blow your nose: This can dislodge the clots and lead to more bleeding. ● Use saline nasal spray: This will help loosen and soften the clots, making them drain more comfortably. You can get saline spray over the counter at most pharmacies. ● Apply a cool compress: A cool compress placed gently on the bridge of your nose can help reduce swelling and discomfort. ● Control sneezing: We know sneezing can be painful after surgery. Try to suppress the sneeze by gently pinching the bridge of your nose and closing your mouth while breathing out slowly through your mouth. *** Important: If the bleeding is heavy or doesn't stop with gentle pressure, or if the pain is severe, please contact your doctor immediately. As for sneezing, it's best to avoid situations that might trigger them. Here are some tips: ● Stay away from allergens and irritants: Dust, pollen, pet dander, and smoke can all trigger sneezing. ● Use an air purifier: This can help remove allergens and irritants from the air you breathe. ● Take antihistamines: If you have allergies, taking an antihistamine medication as directed by your doctor can help prevent sneezing. *** We hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions you may have about recovery from rhinoplasty.

I’m having a septoplasty and rhinoplasty combined and I’m very nervous - does anyone know if it’s very painful after this? What’s the pain like?
@Michael-lj3lm Жыл бұрын
It’s very painful the first couple days after, I had the same surgery and prepare yourself, you will sleep maybe an hour max over the first couple days after surgery with the blocked nose canals causing you to feel like your choking when your trying to sleep even in an elevated position. I’m in my second week of recovery. I’m a couple days finished of all my antibiotics and am only on an anti-histamine and I tape up my nose only before bed 1 strip between the nasal bridge and bulb of the nose. You can do it mate just be prepared the first 3 days is horrible just don’t leave your room
@utubeho24 Жыл бұрын
@@Michael-lj3lmthanks so much. But do you feel that choking effect cause of the packing in your nose? My surgeon said he’s not going to put anything but the splints in to support but said I’ll be able to breathe with some discomfort. Also, is it a pain that’s intolerable or is it more discomfort?
@Michael-lj3lm Жыл бұрын
@@utubeho24 yes the packing inside my nose made it so I was entirely breathing solely out of my mouth, which when it comes to eating and drinking and trying to breathe all at the same time for example at dinner very hard but definitely not impossible. I’m still pretty much breathing entirely from my mouth at the moment but that will get better. They give you a saline solution spray to spray up each nostril 3/4 times a day sometimes more to help unclog the nostrils from dry mucus/blood etc. all in all I personally found it hard to sleep but others have said they were fine it all depends on you, try not to smoke or drink alcohol stick to water and good food and good sleep before the surgery at least because you won’t get much after lol. I wish you good luck please let us know how it goes I would like to hear your perspective after getting it done maybe I just can’t handle the pain as much as others hehe

@AriaMedTour Жыл бұрын
Thank you for reaching out, and it's completely normal to feel nervous before a surgery. While everyone's experience with pain can vary, many patients report mild to moderate discomfort rather than severe pain. Your surgeon will prescribe pain medication to help manage any discomfort during the initial recovery period. Additionally, following post-operative care instructions, such as keeping your head elevated, applying ice as recommended, and taking prescribed medications, will contribute to a smoother recovery. It's crucial to communicate any concerns or changes in pain levels to your healthcare team, as they can adjust your pain management plan accordingly. Remember, each individual's experience is unique, and your surgeon and medical team are there to support you throughout the process. Feel free to ask any specific questions you may have about the procedure or recovery from our medical team's consultants via WhatsApp: api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=989129570479

My surgeon told me I’m supposed to massage my nose regularly. I’m a week into having my surgery done. Is it necessary to massage it because whenever I touch it, it’s starts hurting.
@AriaMedTour11 ай бұрын
Yes, it's important to massage your nose after surgery. This can help to reduce swelling and bruising, and it can also help to break down scar tissue. However, it is important to be gentle when massaging your nose, and to only do it as directed by your surgeon. Here are some specific tips for massaging your nose after nose job: ● Wait until the swelling has subsided somewhat. This usually takes a few days or weeks. ● Use your fingertips to massage your nose gently. ● Massage in small circles. ● Do not press too hard. ● Massage for about 2 minutes twice a day. If you are experiencing pain or discomfort when massaging your nose, stop and consult with your surgeon.

How soon can I travel on plane? Like a long haul flight?
@AriaMedTour4 ай бұрын
The ideal time to fly after rhinoplasty depends on several factors, including the complexity of your surgery and your individual healing process. Generally, it's recommended to wait at least 7-10 days before flying. However, long-haul flights are often discouraged during the initial recovery period due to potential discomfort caused by cabin pressure changes. We strongly advise consulting with your surgeon directly for personalized guidance.

Hello there, Thank you for your question. While it's common to sleep straight for the first few days after rhinoplasty, it's generally okay to start changing sleeping positions after about two weeks. However, it's crucial to listen to your body and avoid any movements that cause discomfort or pain. We strongly recommend consulting with your surgeon directly for personalized advice based on your specific situation.

@AriaMedTour Жыл бұрын
Dear Jessica, the short answer is NO. Laughing or smiling is not likely to ruin your rhinoplasty if you do it in moderation. There is nothing to worry about. However taking a few precautions is probably wise, such as asking your friends and family to refrain from jokes around you, taking a break from watching your favorite comedy show, etc.

@AriaMedTour Жыл бұрын
Coughing or sneezing cannot be stopped. However, we recommend doing so with care. If you can anticipate the cough or sneeze, try to remember to keep the mouth open. This will eliminate too much pressure building up in the nasal passage which could potentially cause some bleeding or additional swelling following surgery. After just a few short weeks, the risk for additional swelling and bleeding starts to diminish.

@AriaMedTour10 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your experience and concern about gingivitis. We understand this can be a worry for patients undergoing rhinoplasty. Mouth breathing after surgery can sometimes contribute to dry mouth, which may increase the risk of gingivitis. However, the individual impact can vary depending on various factors like pre-existing oral health and healing process. For tailored guidance, it's crucial to consult with your dentist or surgeon. They can assess your specific risks and offer personalized recommendations for maintaining optimal oral health during and after rhinoplasty.

Does the bump on nose grow again after surgery??
@AriaMedTour Жыл бұрын
In most cases, the bump on the nose is caused by excess bone and cartilage. During nose surgery, the surgeon sculpts away the excess bone and cartilage to remove the bump. This is usually permanent, so the bump typically does not grow back after surgery. However, in some cases, there can be a minor recurrence of the bump if there is any residual cartilage left behind or if scar tissue forms. The recurrence is usually small if it does happen. To help prevent any recurrence, following all post-op care instructions from your surgeon will be important. Things like avoiding trauma to the nose during the healing process can help ensure the best results long-term. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Thank you for sharing your experience after nose job. We understand that you're feeling well and want to get back to your normal activities. However, it's important to remember that everyone heals differently, and what works for one person might not be safe for another. The “don'ts” outlined in the video are based on general recommendations from medical professionals to minimize the risk of complications like bleeding, swelling, and infection. Activities like strenuous exercise, sun exposure, and heavy lifting can put unnecessary stress on the healing tissues and potentially affect the final outcome of your surgery. We strongly recommend following the specific aftercare instructions provided by your surgeon. They are tailored to your individual case and consider your specific healing process. If you have any concerns about your recovery or feel tempted to deviate from the instructions, please contact your doctor immediately.
