Maybe ariana cries in all the interviews because she sees herself in glinda , this popstar princess who feel pressure to be competitive and be perfect in the world but all she really needs is that one genuine friend that really cares . Maybe in this movie it just kind of shows this journey that there’s a human side to all the perfection the spotlight has to bring , she’s perfectly imperfect.

Girl this has me crying I’ve been thinking about this🥹🥹 I’m a white blonde theatre girly and was always more of a Glinda type physically but I always connected on a soul level with Elphaba. Seeing the impact Cynthia (my bday twin) has already made for Black girls in particular makes my heart absolutely explode. My favourite thing about Wicked is its celebration of women and all their quirks and differences and uniqueness. The Black Girl Magic that Cynthia & Marissa brought to the screen was so unbelievably touching for ME so I can’t even imagine it for you. I think Cynthia is gonna be a game changer for young girls in the next generations. I adore this cast. Lots of love from a fellow theatre kid💚🩷💚🩷

I saw Wicked when it previewed in San Francisco before going to Broadway way back when. It sounds corny now, but it's true. I will never forget Menzel singing Defying Gravity. I love how involved Idina and Kristin have been in Wicked celebrations throughout the years, but particularly throughout the 20th anniversary and movie things. You can tell that how precious these characters and this story are to them, while at the same time not feeling like they have ownership of it. They’re so humble about their legacy and always give everyone who has come after them their flowers. They’re the blueprint but they hold so much reverence for everything that’s been built beyond them. It’s a really beautiful thing to see in such a competitive industry.

I know the chances of you all seeing this is very small, but I still want to express how grateful and happy I am to see this. I have only been to one Broadway show in my entire life, and it was Wicked, with the original cast. It was life-changing. Idina, I swear that experiencing Defying Gravity in person was absolutely unlike anything else. The entire room gasped at once and collectively heals their breath. I had goosebumps running up and down my arms. I’ve never seen that before or since. So I admit that I was skeptical about the movie living up to my memory, but I was so happy to be wrong! It was absolutely perfectly cast, and once again, the magic had me on the edge of my seat. Congratulations on something very very special. ❤❤❤❤

I absolutely love seeing the bonds and love these women share across generations and across productions. This story is so powerful and all about women supporting and lifting each other up and you can see the profound effect it’s had on all of them. We’re so lucky to have these artists in our lives and that they truly put their heart and souls into these characters.

It's sweet how they're all crying. It's a very relatable dream, and to experience such a rare thing actually coming true would be at least a little overwhelming. This is an experience of a lifetime, perhaps even a life defining experience of which to be a part, a part that very few are chosen to play! It's nice to see how much it means to them and to know it's more than just a financial endeavor to them. This movie felt like watching many people's life's work take shape. It's more than a movie, it's an event.

I wish they would stop crying, *I* don't want to cry this much! haha. Over the years i've noticed Idina isn't as emotional as Kristen, so when she starts crying, then you know it's real lol. And I know people wanna make fun of them, but I get it, if you haven't seen the musical they are very emotionally taxing roles. *especially* for Galinda. Wicked is not a happy story, it is full of anguish, pain and grief. Especially in Act 2. As someone who is very emotionally invested in the Broadway show (especially the OBC) I understand every tear lol.

they are so incredibly passionate about these roles and know how much of a beautiful story this is. and for someone like Ari who has been obsessed with Wicked/The Wizard of Oz since she was a child, this is a full circle moment for her. she’s wanted this since before the beginning of her career and she put so much on hold to give this role her all. that’s why she’s so emotional. they’re crying cause they are happy and proud of themselves❤.

I just love this so much. Part of me was nervous to see the movie, because i LOVED the Broadway version so much, i loved Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenowith and how they played the roles and have listened to the sountrack so many times. I was BLOWN AWAY seeing the movie. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande did such beautiful jobs doing their own versions and with so much passion and so much heart. I also fell in love with their versions. Its hard putting it into words, i was so moved, so invested, and i just fell so in love with this interpretation too. And seeing these women together, showing so much love and respect for each other. I just love all of this so much. So much passion and heart among these 4 women. ❤ Thank you, for 2 amazing experiences, in different formats, and for doing such justice to the source, and giving us a new dimension to love about these characters❤
