There are a few components to ways to potty train. One plan I found that succeeds in merging these is the gabs potty blueprint (check it out on google) definately the no.1 treatment i've heard of.look at all the great information .

New subscriber here! I'm an early interventionist and work with kids 0-6 years old. One of the parent's of a child I work with mentioned that her son's friend had started potty training when she was 6 months old. That family is from India and she said that the girl's mom said they usually start potty training that early in India. Both myself and the parent of the child I work with were amazed! I had never heard of that before! So, watching some of your videos has been fascinating to me! Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to watch more of your videos! :-)

I had never heard of EC until your video on it. You're doing an amazing job with Revelynne, and hopefully little Aerilee will do just as well! 😊

Maybe you could try the sign for "poop" instead? I'm always impressed by your EC updates!

+Homemaking Madeline haha! Funny you said that, because my sister texted me the same thing after she saw this video. I am afraid it may be to complex and too similar to "more" in terms of putting your hands together that it may be just as confusing for her to figure out! I'll hopefully come up with something though. Someone mentioned having her touch her nose, which may actually be the perfect choice since its completely different from everything else and very obvious!

"So that's what's going on poop wise". Hahaha I laughed! #parenttalk. Love your guys' videos :)

+The Royal Life hahaha! Yea, while editing I was thinking, "I mean, I know anyone who clicks this realizes that we are going to be talking about poop and pee...but I should probably put a disclaimer just in case!" Fellow parents totally are not phased 👊🏻 But I am sure it will gross a few others out! haha.

Hello, we are going to be doing EC with our baby girl. We have not bought a potty yet but do you recommend the Bjorn potty first then transfer to the other one or should we just get the Bumbo toilet seat right away? Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the tip on the potty! We use the bjorn one now, but we need a second one and I've never heard of that one.

Hello, so my son just turned 15m on the 20th. I brought him to an EC group last Thursday and we started that very next morning and he went on the toilet. I have since gotten two toddler potty chairs and he has peed in both. We are mostly just trying when he first wakes up from sleeps/naps. Since he has turned one he has had 7 dry diapers when waking up in the morning. Today makes two days in a row he was dry and had success on the potty!! My next concern is he goes to daycare full time and they only have babies, toddler and pre-school aged once they start Kindergarten it's time to find a new provider. When should I start having them do what we are doing at home on the weekends for wake-ups etc. Right now we are just more or less having fun with it and getting him used to knowing there is somewhere else you can go pee or whatnot. I'll be picking up the "Diaper-free" book this coming Monday when I attend a baby wearers group. Please help with tips etc. Do you facebook or other social media?

You might have answered this in another comment. But my little girl only poops when I'm holding under her legs above the toilet. We've got a bjorn potty and a seat to put in the toilet, but she rarely if ever pee's when on them. How can I transition her to sitting on her own to go? She's 11 months old, so she's getting way too heavy to hold any more.

Hi Arianna, a question. 😃 We've trained our now 9 m.o. to go poop/pee when we hold him over the toilet or potty since he was 6 m.o. However, we haven't taught him any communication and he still goes in his diaper if we're not quick enough. Where do we start and what kind of reading do you recommend? Would love your opinion, you're doing an amazing job and I hope you're feeling better too! 😃😉 xoxo

I would recommend watching my first video I did on EC that I mentioned. It's in the description box. I talk about the book in that video, and more the fundamentals behind it. It sounds like right now you have just learned facial cues to catch the pee/poop, but haven't actually started training him to tell you yet. This is when you would start implementing some sort of sign every time you say potty or have him on the potty. Then he can pick up that sign to tell you he needs to go!

Hi! in the video you said that you wanted a completely different sign for Rev when she need to go poop.. I suggest you have Rev touch her nose.. that was a signal I would use to tell my mom I needed to use the restroom.. just an idea. LOVED the video!!

+Joleen Olson That is an awesome idea! I may need to try that! It's completely different from everything else and very obvious! Thank You :)

is this a new thing.not the practise but the name of it? I have never heard of it with both my kids lol
@ariannapflederer8 жыл бұрын
It having a name is sort of "new". But, the actual practice of it is not new at all. Third world countries (as they have no diapers) and even my grandparents generation did/do EC just on instinct :)
@meshell49938 жыл бұрын
oh okay,it might just not be a thing in my country,i wish we had known wee babies could do this,wouldve saved a ton of money lol
@ariannapflederer8 жыл бұрын
It's definitely a new concept to most just because since diapers were invented potty training earlier became unneeded. So having them learn their bodily functions and use a toilet early on or from birth was not out of the norm before they existed. Even cloth before disposables had kids potty trained faster than disposables because kids became more aware when they went because they feel the wetness. So to recent generations it's new because they never had anything but disposables!

+Arianna Pflederer such a great practise and so much better for the environment too!!
