Hi. My names Mike I'm a recovering pedalaholic. I managed to slim my collection down, but have just scored a Arion Metal master, a Arion SAD-1 Delay, and a Arion Reverb, all for £75. I just wanted to get the delay as a friend has one... the plan's to sell the Reverb and the Metal Master, and effectively get the delay for free. I've got a sinking feeling i'll end up keeping all three, oh well, so much for that idea.

Put a Boss CS-2 Compressor into one of these, and follow that into an Arion Analog Delay.....Good Lord what an awesome, very controllable tone....

Everything about that sounds just right!

LongFallBoots Now I put a Cry Baby 95Q Wah in front of all that just to use as a lead boost, and oh, Good Lord...

Mojo Lightnin stacking pedals together is where all the magic happens! We ran this one (and the Behringer clone) into my Black Lotus overdrive during our album sessions recently to create the most evil drive sound ever!

I used an Arion Compressor used with my Arion Metal Master. I got a fantastic sound out of it. Nothing at all like this video.

I used a Boss NS 2 with the Arion Metal Master and Arion Compressor used with a pair of sawed off drum sticks and electrical tape to make them both switch on/off together. ( Way before true bypass loop pedals existed)... Then I had an Arion EQ pedal next, DigiTech Multi-play 2 second delay, Arion Chorus and Flanger. I used 2 Rickenbacker Road amps and a Catre G 60.

I got mine in 1995 and still have it. It sounds awfully cool and I wouldn't trade it for nothing in this world.

I love this pedal. I love fuzz, but for thrash fuzz can lack the definition needed for the chugging or galloping rhythms required for stuff like Slayer The Metal Master gets that balance really well and it pairs nicely with a treble booster or fuzz face.
@tonyd71377 жыл бұрын
I hadn't thought to pair this with a treble booster, great advice thank you

I had this pedal but the brand was sakura (exactly the same pedal) and I used it together with the boss heavy metal as a boost. In the HM I used less dist and full high without lows and the metalmaster full dist. Obviously you needed a noise suppressor. But the sound was excellent, very metal with a nice attack for palm muting. A sound like children of bodom. I really miss it and I want to have it again :D.

No idea why this has a bunch of dislikes. I guess people don't want this pedal to get its price raised through your exposure? I'm glad you showed me though :) thinking about picking one up, definitely.

I've got a horrible feeling this might be destined for cult status too! Oh well, I've got mine now! I might try to pick up the Behringer HM2 clone too, to check how they compare...

Please do! I'd be totally interested in hearing it.

This was the first pedal I ever owned, I used it with the treble on full cut, christ it sounded awful but I wish I still had it!

Hello there, is your metal master made in Japan or Sri Lanka? Are you aware of any circuit differences between the two? Thanks, keep on rocking!
@LongFallBoots8 жыл бұрын
Hi! This one's a Japanese one. No idea if there are differences, but I would guess that there might be, albeit minor.
@TheSPY19978 жыл бұрын
There's a current production one close to me on sale, and I've read these are made in sri lanka, so i thought i might ask. Thanks for replying!

thanks for not having an out of phase guitar and actually playing a metal riff. Just bought one of these puppies

You, sir, are absolutely welcome! It's a sweet little bargain (for now!). Getting this has gotten me interested in some other Arion pedals - so expect some more on the channel in the coming months. Thanks for watching!

how does it sound with a bass?
@LongFallBoots8 жыл бұрын
We've not actually given that a go, but the bass control works in sensible area for bass guitar and the slightly more open gain (compared to other hm2 style pedals) would probably work well in my opinion. Thanks for watching!

I bought an Arion Metal Master in 1986 or so, but took it back to the store for a refund, because it was really awful.
