The Bloodbath HM-2 shirt is a nice Easter egg for the viewer with an eye for detail.

The Arion was $25 back in the 80s...that was the big appeal to us poor kids...

I am getting a grey case Japanese Arion Metal Master in a trade for a $40 reverb pedal, think I am making out on the deal. Can't wait to get my HM2W TOO!

I can't quite remember for sure, because it's been so damn long since I owned the thing, but I believe I was using the soft switch, and maybe coming out of the 2nd output. But I remember using the setting that had a little less distortion (On the Arion, let me clarify) because I liked the tone better, and thought it sounded more "George Lynch" like. This was the first pedal I ever owned, and I bought it in like '87. In this comparison, I was surprised to find I like it better than the HM-2. Worthy vid! Thank you!
@DomeNightbearer4 жыл бұрын
The switch just affects the second output. Either it mirrors the first output or you get the signal uneffected by the Arion. But maybe I should test it again 🤔
@nashmanzl4 жыл бұрын
@@DomeNightbearer Perhaps. And it may have just been the side effect of a cheap-ass pedal.

The 2 outputs DO give different sound output. One darker the 2nd out is clearer and better sounding.

I like the Arion best, more bass.
@DomeNightbearer5 жыл бұрын
it definitely has its benefits, but if you play in a full band, the bass might be too much.

@@DomeNightbearer i have an arion made in sri lanka, the problem is there no bass cut before distortion and becomes too fuzzy and bassier. i have to boost it with a boss od-2r to have tighter sound, but overall is usable. also as preamp with the infamous euronymous setting bass on 7 and highs on 1 to achieve the massive mid scoop but is not the chainsaw sound.

I managed to get one a few months ago for $25 and noticed that the cheapest I’ve seen online is for $50. I don’t understand the sudden value surge lol

No idea, but I also noticed the higher prices...

they fluctuate quite a bit. When I became obsessed with it (two years ago give or take) I imported one new from japan for quite a bit of money. could've gotten it cheaper back then but wasn't willing to wait on it.

Geez $100 for a clone?! I just bought a real MIJ HM-2 for $135, not worth buying a clone pedal with a questionable name at that price...
@DomeNightbearer5 жыл бұрын
135 for a MIJ seems to be a steal these days, congrats on that!

135 Dollar is less than half of what you normally pay for working HM-2

@DomeNightbearer6 жыл бұрын
@FRZNGLSRBM6 жыл бұрын
@DomeNightbearer6 жыл бұрын

Danke schonmal!

1.5khz is not a big difference from 1.2; The difference in the scoop central freq from 200hz to 300 is a bigger one. I’d rather have the scoop @ 300hz by the way.

This is probably the worst clone of the HM-2.The wavelength(λ) of the low sound frequency is similar to a Bass distortion pedal. Basically,you can get a great sound then you are just playing by yourself, however in a band setting it's not optimal
