The same principle applies to UBA bank's business profit in Maiduguri, which should be paid to the local government, not the headquarters. Raising taxes on companies will ultimately affect the masses, as the increased cost will be passed on to consumers through higher prices. Moreover, the notion that workers earning less than 800,000 are exempt from tax is misleading, as those earning the minimum wage of 70,000 will still pay tax, given that their annual income exceeds 800,000. The issue of sharing formula requires constitutional amendments, which is a daunting task in Nigeria, especially when it needs the support of at least 2/3 of the states
