We need investigative journalism. A)What is our daily consumption of PMS? B)What is the cost of producing a barrel of crude oil in Naira? C)How much is Dangote paying for a barrel of crude from NNPCL in Naira? D) What is the cost of refining? E)Solution:Produce more crude, at least 2 million barrels daily. F) Sell 35% of your daily production to Dangote at a high discount rate to prevent your economy from collapsing. G) Use the rest for your loan and revenue. F) Jail 70% of NNPCL top managers. 🎉

Just look at your analysis. Is Petrol refining a business or a charitable organization? What is your business with the cost of crude oil and the cost of refining? Your eye is just looking for free petrol, this behaviour of looking for free things is what is killing the country. If the cost of petrol has gone up, the only solution is not to start micro-managing the process of producing petrol, leave that for policies and market forces to regulate. Focus on how to bring down the cost of living even while petrol is expensive and this can be done.

@ebuka56 You are asking my business about the cost of crude? I should focus on what, even when petrol is high? This is funny 😂. I hope you are not related to the people I suggested should be in prison. 🎉

@@buzzu4232 You’ve not answered my question. Petrol refining is a business just like the business or work you do yourself to put food on your table. Why are you interested in what it costs another man that has suffered so much to do his own business? If truly you want justice to be served on all parties including Nigerians, your focus should be on policies to ensure competition and adequate supply in the petrol supply chain, nothing more, nothing less. Competition will ensure that Dangote cannot over-price his petrol and extort Nigerians, this is the only thing that needs to be done. All this running around and focus on petrol price just makes me laugh. Market prices are always set by forces of demand and supply. Dangote is selling his petrol at a very good price, nobody should be complaining.

Dangote has probably received more government support than any businessman in Nigeria,so in determining the price of his product, he should also consider the national perception of exploitative price. Nevertheless, he is a great businessman for daring, to take big risk.

We have four dead refineries. Go and protest against government. Dangote borrowed billions of dollars to build the refinery. There are other billionaires in Nigeria who won't put their money in refinery business.
@Kkholiday419Ай бұрын
Dangote already helped with diesel price we should be happy with that Nigeria is among few countries that still pay less for fuel even with the new price. If we sell Dangote crude oil cheaper he will sell the finished product to NNPC cheaper.
@afrocraft1Ай бұрын
Huh? He should set a price the market will pay, then pay tax on his profit. If marketers can import cheaper, let them. If government wants to subsidize, let them. Aliko no be ya fada. 🤷🏽♂️

Dangote has taken more risks than any other business owner in Nigeria. If you want his business to thrive then he has to make money. He still has a debt of about $3billion to clear. Let us all try to be reasonable.

Why is these people not talking about the 8 other byproduct you get from crude before getting pms?If you add the price of other commudities that comes from crude,the refinery is making over 10 dollars per litre equivalent..So,pms should be sold cheaper considering what they make from refining crude.
@ObjectiveObserver-xh4vkАй бұрын
Dangote paid for it. Just same way we export to foreign refineries. Dangote employs Nigerians in that refinery. Those workers pay taxes to the government. They are on pension .

There are actually 10 or 11 direct hydrocarbon products and more than 6000 petrochemical by-products of crude oil.

Yes, it has to be cheaper because you are an oil pricing analyst with significant investment in the refinery.

Dangote refinery is a business not charity. The oil in Niger delta is not a charity, it is for the people in that region.

Wrong. The oil and gas reserves belongs to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you find oil under your land today, it belongs to Nigeria, not you. It's the same in every civilized country in the world.

@@themark7948 Great! Is the law for a certain region or the country as a whole? I know of states who are in charge of the gold in their region. Does the Niger delta look like other regions in the world with the same resources? How can a handful of people hold millions of Nigerians captive? The refinery makes no sense at this point. @@themark7948 That law was passed in 1969 during the Nigerian-Biafran war. It was a political decision. In the US, you find crude under your land, it is yours. Do not just come online and make blanket statements that are false and not well researched.

@@enod9746 I repeat, in most of the civilized world, the oil would belong to the government. Even in the US, you would still need to have mineral rights, which is a different thing from property rights. If you don't go through the process of getting licensed you can't mine, even if you own the land.
