They found her injured as a baby. She would've died had they not taken her in. I'm sure it could've been possible to find someone to take her and raise her prepared enough to be returned to the wild but there's already a culling program in place to keep the population down. It'd have most likely led to her being euthanized. They kept her and have really given her a great life. Well fed, loved, stimulated, etc. Like many, she's extremely intelligent for an animal and keeping her from running around and getting hurt isn't easy. This was the best solution. All other cages she was able of escaping. She isn't abused and she's not inside the cage except at night. This is her right after being put in the cage before bed. It truly is for her safety. I know ALOT monkeys are used to make content and get abused. This isn't that.

That cage is far to small for a monkey would not even put a cat in it. The poor thing needs a big pen with climbing trees and ropesin it so it can climb up high.
