I'd like to somehow be able to plug the arrowhead into some kind of a machine and be able to watch a week of the life of one of these people! Are you allowed to keep arrowheads you find or do you have to leave them?
@RogueOutdoorsmen2 жыл бұрын
According to Arizona Revised Statutes 41-842 you can “legally collect surface” arrowheads. Federal Title 16, 470ee, G also says you can “legally collect surface finds” as well, but there are certain stipulations about where they can be collected, i.e. national parks, tribal lands, etc.

Question for you I found an arrowhead sometime back along the mogollon rim. smaller than a dime in the shape of a triangle. When I showed it to somebody they said it was a bird arrow. I know without you seeing it that would be a hard question to answer but are small triangle arrowheads used for hunting birds?
@RogueOutdoorsmen3 жыл бұрын
They mean a “bird point” or small game point. The Paleo points are usually bigger, think spear tips for killing mammoth and bison. The later Archaic points got smaller as the game animals changed and they weren’t hunting bigger animals and traveling as much.
@tarlspeakman33823 жыл бұрын
@@RogueOutdoorsmen thank you for the information.yes it's small it will fit within my pointer fingernail no thicker than 3 pieces of paper.
@smokeeater83873 жыл бұрын
They call them bird points but they were actually true arrowheads for arrows. Which came much later. Spear points were first then atlatl dart points then the bird points. A lot of arrowheads were hafted for knife blades if they are larger👍🇺🇸

Are you finding that coming across arrow heads is becoming harder and harder? Or is it still pretty common to find whole nice arrowheads
@RogueOutdoorsmen2 жыл бұрын
In the same places, it’s getting harder, as there are X amount of potential arrowheads on a site. The rains and winds wash new points to the surface, but there are always a limited number of points at one spot. It’s not like antlers where they replenish every year.
