OMG that's the prettiest Point I've seen in a long time. I'm 70 years old I've been walking Hardin Illinois and Mineola Missouri Graham cave since I was a kid in 1968 I found three 22 23 24 inch spearheads laying on a Flat Rock. I'm almost 80 now nobody cared nothing about that stuff you could walk out pick him up on the fields by the bushel basket full. What a beautiful find I'm sure it meant something to the maker also

Man, I thought I'd done pretty good over here in north central North Carolina. Hunting the freshly plowed and listed tobacco fields along the Dan,Smith,and Mayo River's... Y'all are knocking down some killer finds! We've NEVER done the creeks and we've got 100's of miles of them. So we just go along an check the catches in the creeks? Oh yeah, my youngest son found a volcanic glass Perfect black, translucent point, right along the river.. Closest volcano to herd is Yellowstone, so I guess the Indian's brought it over here! Cool vids, Brother's! Thanks! I might try to get a little video of our Creek finds, I'm sure there loaded down! I've seen guys pull spear heads out of the river banks 10 inches long...

I'm almost 74 years old and have been looking arrowheads since a boy of 11 when i found my first one. A Rhyolite triangle bird point. I now have made a pretty necklace of a fire red Halifax point made of rose quartzite. The red Hardin you found reminds me of the one i found. Good luck with your point hunting. God Bless!

Have you ever found arrowheads in slate filled creeks?
@alanbartley42604 жыл бұрын
@@SillyParasaurolophus No Alyssa, i have always hunted and found my artifacts in the fields. After the farmers (get permission first) break up the fields in the spring and gather the crops in the fall , and after a good rain; one can walk them and find arrowheads. You don't find them in all fields, just off and near creeks and rivers. After all, native Americans didn't won't to walk a mile to get water no more than we do. Also, good hunting and fishing there . Hope this answers your question. Take care and God Bless you!

Appreciate it Michael...when I first started hunting.,I would just walk the creek and look for anything that was red....we have just about all colors here I believe so that's why you have to train yourself to look for shape as well...as red as a lot of the points we find are.,there is a lot of acidic creek staining going on and those red points will be black as the ace of spades. I wade a lot of creeks for fishing. Is there anything I should look for that might stick out as to where good spots might be for arrow head hunting? Or is it just one of those things were I should just try and look everywhere?
@gokartracers3 жыл бұрын
Go to a freshly plowed field near a creek or River. Look for chips of flint rock on top of the soil. Best to look right after a rain. The chips show up better when the dust is cleaned off. The chips are a sign they may have been making them in that area. Could just be the tip sticking up. Rarely do you find a perfect arrow head just lying there. Instead of leaning down. Get a stick and flip every single piece of small pointy rock over. It could be the tip of a perfect arrow head. If you ever find one, there are possibly more in that area. Ask the locals to see if they have found any.
