Asylum is NOT a right. It got started under the UN refugee act. Then all the liberals refused to read that act. The act CLEARLY STATES you are ONLY a refugee IF you apply for entry at the first country who SIGNED that refugee act. MEXICO SIGNED THAT ACT. This means anyone who arrived at our Southern border, was no longer a refugee, as they were applying at the SECOND country they came to (who was a signatory to that act), and not the first. I get annoyed how the left makes up imaginary "rights", with no understanding of either the Constitution, or existing international UN agreements and US law. There is actually no requirement that asylum seekers must apply in the first country they reach. The “first safe country” principle is in SOME specific agreements but it is not a requirement. Unfortunately, the US is legally obligated to consider asylum claims from people regardless of how they entered the country, which countries they traveled through and whether those other countries could have offered them protection. There needs to be some fundamental changes if we want what you described to be the law or else people will keep taking advantage of Americas hospitality at the expense of our citizens.

Those "activist groups which support illegal immigration" are in the MINORITY. This is NOT how most Arizonans feel.
