Your videos are always edited top notch. I am lucky enough to live a few miles from Tortilla Flat so I'm glad you shared this ride. Since you travel AZ enough I would highly recommend two amazing routes: 1). AZ 191(old devils highway 666) from Morenci to Hannagan Meadow. This route has it all, many many twisties with elevation and views but is a summer ride. 2). AZ 83 (south of Tucson) to Elgin where there are many wineries to stop at. You could loop in Bisbee/Tombstone on that route.

You're passing Canyon Lake. Apache is the next one in the line, but it all dirt getting there. That road is not paved yet. It's Saguaro Lake, Canyon Lake, Apache Lake, Roosevelt Lake. All this water and yet most of our water comes from the CAP canal. Central Arizona Project canal. Siphoned off the Colorado River.

I had a winter condo in Phoenix. Sold it in 2017. I had an Indian Scout down there and rode all those places mentioned in this video. AZ is a great state to ride in. Been to Tortilla Flat many times. The road was paved just a couple years ago. Before that it was a washboard and not a fun ride at all. You mentioned mining. AZ was really into copper mines; that's why you see a lot of copper on the buildings such as the state capitol.
@2LaneLife4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Freddie. We’re sure glad they were paved but have been known to get on the dirt when needed. We appreciate your support.

One last comment, next time you're in Show Low, head east toward Eager and then Alpine. From Alpine, head south on the 191, the Coronado Trail. Just under 80 miles long, but has 450-something switchbacks and curves in beautiful green-scape. You start at almost 8K feet elevation. Brings you into Morenci, passing the Morenci Mine. One of the largest open pit copper miles in the world. When you are coming into Clifton, look up on the rocky ledges, there are wild mountain sheep there. It's common to find 3/4 and full curl mountain sheep there. From Clifton, another old mining town, you can stay on the 191 to Three Way. From there, you're only 50 or so miles to Mount Lemmon.

A lot of the roads out there are just so pothole ridden, bumpy and crappy for bikes, I’ve ridden out there a couple times and always come back saying the same thing... “I wish they’d re-pave the roads out there”. But there’s some nice scenery and I take that 202 to Brown Rd and ride past Usery mountain to Saguaro lake and back home, that’s my “clear my head” ride I like to take. Mt. Lemon is a great ride, there’s a bunch of cops out there and some of the drivers like to cut corners, so you have to watch out for them. But it’s a nice ride and great scenery!

@2LaneLife4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the support Steve! For solo trips, we both rock the Saddlemen Slim LS Seat. Plenty of support and comfort for both long distance and aggressive riding. They both make a huge difference alone, but put together, suspension and a quality seat make the world of a difference. A seat is a great place to start to get a feel for it, then suspension to top it off. You really can't go wrong though. Even just doing one would make a noticeable difference. Here's a link to the seats and suspension we run on our bikes. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to info@2lanelife.com 👍 2lanelife.com/collections/our-suspension
