Great review. The dog companion not getting hurt or having to worry about to me is a big plus. And one thing I loved about AZ Sunshine 1 is that it wasn't a serious game, just get in, quick reloads and shoot'em up and I'm glad to hear that will remain the case.

So its an expensive one-time experience that offers little challenge. Wait for sale. You could replay Resident Evil games for the challenge, and unlockables and some were only 3 hour games--but it was worth it for what it offered. This could have been more.

I just googled a bit around about the length and IGN's review straight up says it's a 15 hour campaign (which kinda proves he hasn't beaten it since going by reviews of people who have beaten it, it's only possible to put that many hours into 1 playthrough if you spend a good 8-10 hours of that time asleep).

Been waiting literally years for this. But, while the gameplay does look fun, I can't justify 50 bucks for 3-4 hours of gameplay. Definitely shelve this one for a sale, even if I have to wait a year. I also saw an early review for Arashi.....not good :/

@@YoBrand15 I saw a video review of it on Reddit and the reviewer said and showed that the combat can be gamed very easily. It's just hold your arm up to block and swipe once to hit, over and over. They also said there's a lot of jankiness and the environments don't look great, clipping, pop-ins, etc. They also said that the movement is jacked as well. Like you can press the joystick forward, but you'll move on a diagonal angle. I've seen two separate videos showing this. They said some of the graphics can look nice, some of the time, but that's about it. They said that this game was originally on PSVR1 and that they didn't really do much to upgrade/fix/expands the game. Bummer from what I saw.

$50 is lke a meal at AppleBees. VR gamers don't support VR then they complain that they only get demos. He said it was more like 6 hours on hard. That's about $8 / hour. A movie ticket is about $12 so that's $6 / hour. And it has multiplayer suport. I paid $90 for Super Streetfighter on the SNES in 1992. Imagine how much that is in 2023 dollars. Games havew gotten cheaper over time when compared to inflation.

I wanted to preorder this game so bad, was so hyped after all those trailers and early reactions, but now I'm happy I didn't. 50 euro for a 3/4 hour game? That's just too much, and I though we're done with overpriced short experiences in VR. The worst thing is I will love this game just like the first one, but I just can't justify paying this much money for such a short game. Sadly it's time to wait for a sale.

Reprojection absolutely is an issue on PCVR as well. Like everything PCVR, it depends on your system. Most people will not be able to run it at 120 or even 90Hz, because most people do not have a tip top graphics card. Which means most people will be running it reprojected. As a G2 owner the reprojection system in my experience is as bad or worse than the PSVR2. It's a strange myth that reprojection is only a PSVR2 issue. I do get the impression Oculus has always had a better reprojection system and so it doesn't get noticed as much if you're using an Oculus (or meta or whatever) headset.

Didn't even know you can set reprojection on PC. I always set 80-90 fps and was ok. On PSVR2 I can't stand reprojection. I felt sick in RE8 when moving forward. Stick to Quest 3 for a moment. Everything high res and smooth.

Kinda like motion blur if you rotate or turn with a decent speed the world streaks and is quite distracting. Some people don’t notice it because they haven’t played higher quality vr but coming from pcvr the psvr 2 was quite a let down to me when first firing up horizon

Reprojection is locked on is what the review is saying On PC, you have graphical settings and resolution you can change to suit your hardware so you can avoid not making framerate and being chucked into reprojection. If your pc is always in reprojection your graphics and/or resolution is too high for your system and you really need to sort that yourself or upgraded hardware

I wouldn't say it's unacceptable. People need to be patient. Will take devs a while to utilize the hardware. Although I will say it was a dumb idea for Meta to launch the Q3 too early... they wanted to do it so we could test it for them so they could make fixes before the holidays.

I didn’t really get sick. It just made me feel tired and I needed to rest my eyes. Some people are fine with reprojection me being one of them but for some reason it got to me. I found myself needing to take the headset off as I was just feeling a bit weird and was worried I’d get a migraine.

I'm playing on psvr2 and the reprojection claim is just not true. It really isn't as bad as some youtubers say. It looks good. The biggest problems atm for the psvr 2 version are: 1. You have to hold in the button to hold the gun, so it can hurt after a while. Fast reload can be a bit problematic too because of that. 2. Some wonky movement like AS1 3. Had 2 crashes in 2.5 hours of play. Also, People who finish it in 4 hours just rush through it I think. I'm at 25% atm, so 🤷‍♂️ The devs also didn't use all of the psvr2 extras. Which holds it back a little.

Respectfully how someone feels while using reprojection is subjective. It’s not a true or untrue claim. The game IS reprojected on PSVR2. It’s a technical fact, at least currently.

This game was different. I don’t know why? But what I do know is I have to tell the truth about MY experience. If no one else finds the repro bad that is brilliant! I’m used to that stuff, but it is veeery visible in games that use it. If you can’t see it, lucky you. No one is lying about it. There are people out there who swear they can’t tell a difference between 30 and 60fps in flat games. Lucky them. To most it’s very obvious. Reprojection is the same. Either you see it or you don’t. Do you see it in GT7 at all? And does it bother you there? I see it clearly but I ignore it.

I did see it with horizon, but not as much as some people claim. I do notice it seems different from person to person. I don't know why, we have heard that Sony is apparently working on a fix for reprojection (a dev confirmed it), so lets hope. GamertagVR is right about 1 thing in AS2: the smoke level looks bad on psvr2. Really bad. But I've also noticed the devs still don't understand the psvr2 technology fully (same for quest 3 probably). Some choices are just baffling. Having to hold in the button the whole time for holding the gun (they are gonna patch that btw) is just dumb. I think this game is 2 patches away from being great on psvr2. I also don't understand how people can complete this in 4 hours. They are rushing through it then 😋

You have an infinite virtual store. When you approach a crafting case to make either grenades, land mines or molotovs you will see how much you have collected. You pick up a card to select what you want to make, put in the center of the case and the items you need will appear. You bang them together and there it is

I had none of those issues on psvr2. This is the issues when they give you guys different builds I guess. I never crashed on hard difficulty and never saw texture drop. I did get buddy go from on top of the gas station to fighting on fooor back on top lol

I heard there's a horde mode, coop and there's multiple difficulties. If you're someone who would play through the game multiple times and wants to play all of the modes, I think it's worth the price. But for people mainly looking for a solid campaign? I'd say it's too expensive. I think a short campaign could be worth full price, but it has to be superb in order for me to think it is. And this game while good, doesn't really come close to offering that for the single player.

Oh, I was looking forward to this and no way I’m buying it now. If psvr2 was better priced and didn’t have reprojection, I’d buy in a heartbeat. £15 with native 90 and no reprojection would have been instant buy. You mentioning the motion sickness on psvr2 made my mind up to skip altogether. Thanks for the honest review. I’m always always looking at KZbinrs like paid liars, because we’ll, many are and it’s so nice for someone to tell the truth, regarding big negative issues. Erm I’m hyped for resident evil 4 psvr2 tomorrow or tonight. I played resident evil village in psvr2 and I did manage 1 and a hlaf play through, I did often have to stop because of motion sickness. Seeing as you are really experienced in vr, would you say that in your honest option, resident evil 4 remake in psvr2 will give me just as much motion sickness as in resident evil village? Or is it possible it will be 90 FPS native and no reprojection and less motion sickness? Or native just isn’t possible on any of these higher demanding psvr2 games? I’ve not play psvr2 since April last year and I’m worried my motion sickness is back to zero. Wish me luck 😭 Oh 1 more thing. Is there actually a vr unit out there that can run the best games in native 90fps or even 120? If so, what 1’s? And would this massively reduce motion sickness?

To many channel go the news route because the gameplay doesn’t get views but you should always do what you want to do. This will help with avoiding burn out and people forget it’s called KZbin for a reason. I also believe in honesty above all else and be yourself. Make sure the person on camera is the one they may meet in the street on day. It’s slower growth since you can’t clickbait, over hype, over act and sponsorships are rare BUT the people who find you rarely leave.

The game might be good, I was really looking forward to playing it on day 1 and money is not a problem but I refuse to give them a penny if that's the way they treat their customers. How can they think it's ok to pay 50€ for that type of length? It's not 2016 anymore! And that was on hard mode!!!! Jeez, so probaby about 4 hours in normal. Unbelievable! Shame on them. Anyway, great review, as always, you've done a fantastic job with all of your videos in 2023, keep it up! I loved your impressions on Praydog's UEVR mod, by the way, that really got me excited for the future, way more excited than this, that's for sure.

Quest is the only reason this game exists. Quest makes up 90% of all be players. VR wouldn't be financially viable without it I would go so far to say that VR would be dead if it wasn't for the quest 2. 20 millions sales.

The review goes a bit off the rails when one of the complaints is essentially a mix of "this game doesn't have mechanics from another genre that I like" and "this game doesn't take the tone of completely different genre". Those are all fine and good opinions to have, but they don't really have any place in an actual review as they're essentially theorycrafting and dreaming of another, different kind of a game. They don't tell the viewer anything about THIS game. I don't see why anyone would go into Arizona Sunshine 2 expecting a survival-ish game. Arizona Sunshine 1 was an arcade VR shooter. Arizona Sunshine 2 is an arcade VR shooter. Makes sense, no?

I think I'll wait a couple of months for fixes, again. Hopefully they will put in a harder mode where the dog can die (awful decision to make him invincible) Oh well at least I still have GT7 to play, still the greatest psvr2 game by far.

The main problem with making companions mortal is that explosives and fire become too risky to use. I had this in Skyrim a lot.. as a mage with fire and AOE spells I kinda had to just stop using AOEs whenever I had to bring a companion with me, and most of the time was spent trying to keep that companion alive rather than play the game like a wizard badass. This dog runs into a horde of zombies because there are hordes of zombies.. it will die _every fight._ I suspect that’s why the dog is immortal. Having to reload every time the dog dies would make me never use the dog.
