Ppl are complaining about the price. It's the only rpg game on psvr2. Devs remade the game to use the fov. For me, waiting so long for a another Skyrim for psvr2, its a game changer. Im really happy.

From what i am hearing from other people who have beat this game its close to 30-40 hours plus game+ so between that, the use of phoveated dynamic rendering, running native at 90 hz and being a true rpg sold me and justified the price completely not to mention 4 players co-op so i am more than happy to support these devs so we can get dlc and maybe a sequel. @capolean2902 yeah! Right now it's in early access, so it only has chapter 1. Chapter 2 and 3 should be there by the end of the year. But a really unique Soulslike experience. They've recently upgraded the combat.

Tips and tricks would be good. I am sure I will figure many things out myself, but would watch it for the things I haven't. The way you can change weapon grip covered here was already very useful and something for me to look forward to when I start the game tomorrow. PS - I love a game that gives a physical workout. Last year, my most played PSVR2 game was Until You Fall. This year, it might end up being this one.

Something i noticed in your video is that when you pick up the gem for a new item it doens't show stats unless you drop it then pick it back up. Would be nice if once you break the gem and get the item it displays the stats of it. Seems like something that wouldn't be too hard to add. Great video, going to get it today.

Your discussion of the physical effort in playing this game is very interesting. I tend to play sitting down to ensure I don’t jam myself headfirst through my OLED, so wondering how that’ll pan out. Cause it look like an excellent play. Tips and tricks sounds like it would be very helpful.

Some other reviewers mentioned that they've tried it seated and it works, you're just closer to the ground in-game. That might be changeable on PC or if you mess with your PSVR 2's room mapping. Also if you're sitting while you play MP, it looks like your character is squatting to take a 💩😆

yeah the same for me, regular breaks, 2x2m minimum, and I use additional gym weights on my handwrists for more weight + training, makes swinging harder and is really tough.. but the sweat beneath the Headset is real. really need more small factor headsets like bigscreen beyonds. Q2 at the moment.. Pro Tip: disable ingame music and play Diablo 1 or 2 soundtrack ;) thank me later the change to toggle though is a nuisance from the beta, and I hope they bring hold grip = hold weapon back!

There's a skill you can buy that regens your mana so you can dodge more often

There's a passive skill that lets you regen your mana a lot faster, which is what dashes use. If you use magic, you can get by with a lot less physical activity as magic works kind of like guns with casting the spell 'loading' your 'gun', it also uses eye tracking to aim magic so it's really intuitive once you figure that out. Also, you do drastically reduced damage if you attack too fast, the game considers your first strike a 'heavy attack' and follow ups as 'light attacks'. There's a passive to boost the damage to light attacks but generally they do so much less damage it's more worth holding back a bit to get more full strength attacks. As an example, early on a weapon might deal 6 damage on a heavy attack then 1 on a light, meaning if you pause a second between attacks you can keep landing those 6 damage hits instead of just wildly flailing. Additionally, I don't know if it's a bug or what but arrows don't seem to care HOW they reach the enemy, as long as the head hits them they deal full damage, so you can literally just throw arrows at enemies like throwing knives and just pump out the damage, though that's probably far more exhausting than using regular attacks/firing arrows. Edit: oh, and you didn't mention that there's three kinds of physical damage, bludgeoning, slashing and piercing, I BELIEVE the type matters, so skeletons take more from bludgeoning, but I don't think they take less from piercing. This is relevant since you can bonk them with the pommel of your weapon to get blunt damage, or with some weapons halfsword a lot of bladed weapons to bash them with the handle.

Hey GT, thank you for your review, in depth, informative and considered as ever. Wow, this is compelling! So much good going on! Really happy that the Devs are pushing the boundaries! TBH I’ve become a little jaded with many current titles and their, in my opinion over simplification. Those who started their gaming journey with text entry based adventure games and the like may feel the present ‘hand holding’ has gone to far. I frequently do. I remember drawing maps myself for games like Kings Quest. I’ve stopped playing titles before now entirely because the lack of input, If I’m not able affect outcome through choice, good or bad, I’m less involved. This title sounds like it’s taking a risk by allowing the player more control, if one is seeking immersion (We are talking about VR here!) then while its a bold move its a smart one. I’ll not harp on about the fact this will play 4up….. for me gaming is pretty much only a coop experience. Even if I’m GT7 going for a PB I’ll usually be taking turns with a friend. If the game allows players to run as squad, say 2 up front shield and sword, 1 behind them with a pike for example then the 4th playing ranged with a bow, and it be beneficial to cooperate like this then I’m all in! On the Price, I’m ok with it IF it’s as Ive described above. I’d really appreciate a timed trial with it, in my opinion if a publisher does this it shows confidence in the product especially useful when the price asked isn’t equivalent to a couple beers!

Its one of the most if not thee most "built for VR" comprehensive co-op RPG games out there. As far as losing items is concerned, I was pleasantly surprised you can get them back from your chest at your camp. There is a lost tab (for items that you dropped and cannot find) and a button to summon your tombstone for a price if you don't want to do the resurrection run back.

Price is a "negative". Of course we'd all opt to pay less for whatever but I think VR and particularly on PS5 is at junction where expectations need to and I think are changing. After botched launches last year it's become more common for devs to delay a game and release properly, and that's important and a good thing imo. It's apparent devs can't do this VR games are a cheaper thing sustainably, not if we want more flat screen comparable stuff. Stuff like Arizona Sunshine 2 and this at full price make sense to me, or at least I think it's time for the health of the industry that it'll be more common practice. I think Quest skewed things somewhat and we might be re-balancing a bit if that makes sense. Anyway, great review as always and hope you're recovered soon.😘

Loads of Steam reviews say something like "great game for $20, but not $55." I have to agree with that completely. It's a great game, but there really isn't enough game here to justify the price unlesss you decide to pad the time doing crafting or whatever far more than the game actually justifies.

I’ve hurt my back twice. Both pretty bad and now it affects my everyday life. Now I know people throw advice out all the time but I’m gonna put my here just incase it helps because I’m now back to near 90% strength. It still aches but I can do everything. Naproxen really helped to relax the muscles around my lower back and ease off the nerve endings. Always try and sit with your knees lower than your hips. Sleep with an object between your legs apart to keep them straight, this helps your hips. Most people tie pillow up together. Do lots of ab work. Your abs are designed for stability yet most people do use them or make them stronger. With a bad back start to work on your core and exercise to free up your lower back. I would suggest a KZbin channel called Bob and Brad. It’s a bit shit now but look up bad backs on their channel and there’s some great advice. Stay strong 💪

Not sure it's fair to state the price is a "negative" when you consider the size of the game and how much content there is. Nobody would ever mention $50 being a negative for a similar sized flat game, it's just that on VR we got used to smaller, cheaper games. It's so relieving to finally get a large scale RPG for VR and I'm dying to get in there. Cool review, looks so fun. Early access version I've already played over 9 hours and in that version it's just a single 10 level dungeon. I haven't even made it to the 10th level because there is no fast travel. Those seem to be the standard ones, but GT says here that there are several more enemy types you’ll encounter, like bats and treasure chests that attack you. There are apparently bosses as well, though I haven’t heard many details about them.

I haven't played a good VR Dungeon Crawler since Karnage Chronicles, Vanishing Realms, VR Dungeon Knight, WAY back in the early PCVR days. I've had this game on my wish list for 2-3 years since it first came to Steam, but I wanted to wait and watch development. Some people even say that Grimlord is a better game, but I have not personally played either. This looks pretty fun, though I'm not excited about how it will make you physically exhausted....I have other games that do that, so I know how that feels and after losing IRL days to soreness on the couch for recovery, it makes me not want to play those games. Two examples of games like that are Thrill of the Fight and Until You Fall. I'll definitely keep an eye on this and might wait for a sale, but that won't happen for a while. I think I read somewhere recently that the dev is holding strong on the price. Time will tell.
