Nice video and concept, feel like a game like melee is uniquely suited for player analysis since playstyles can be pretty varied
@o.o.42384 жыл бұрын
90% of Melee players just hold forward though, and 4% or less play bait and punish. The only play that has any nuance or variety is at top level. The combos are incredibly varied, though.

I like the idea but it's also a very ambitious idea. The problem is that singling out distinctive traits can be hard to define. Even harder is it to then find the proper evidence to back that definition, it can quickly seem like cherry picking. I think you did a pretty good job but I'm still not entirely convinced. Cool idea and I loved your video about Roy and PM, especially the part about how melee Roy functions was amazing and very insightful

To understand a marth player first you need to realize that it's not about specific combos. Marth becomes an extension of your body, his movements are unlimited.

rishi might be the best marth vs floaties and against sheik he just might. where as other marthare very good against fast fallers rishi is like the opposite.

Yeah his style is super good against Peach. Against Samus and Puff not as much? Aggro Marth def suffers hard vs spacies that's for sure.

Question: How does jump squad facilitate more frame perfect aerials? Since tap jump buffers, it seems to introduce much more variability in timing. How do we avoid that our aerial input is not swallow by jump squad? Really sweet content regardless!
@arJunebugSmash3 жыл бұрын
I don't think I understand the question but I'll try to answer anyway? So let's say your character has a 3 frame jumpsquat. if you wanted to do the earliest possible aerial you would input it on frame 4. You don't wanna jump and aerial at exactly the same time since then you'll have the input eaten
@frebo25413 жыл бұрын
@@arJunebugSmash I was under the impression you were praising tap jump because it could be buffered out of shield (which I though would be possible but it isn't. Only c-stick buffers out of shield.) I now understand that tap jump just allows immediate access to c-stick, making quick and awkward hand movement unnecessary. I discussed the topic on reddit. www.reddit.com/r/SSBM/comments/kdhqwg/daily_discussion_thread_121520/gfx1fq9/
@frebo25413 жыл бұрын
Now I'm learning that tap jump DOES buffer out of shield but only for 4 frames unlike c-stick which doesn't have a frame limit xD
