A tip I have is to honeycomb and layer the absolute shit out of the base. And there should be nothing but doors and doorframes on the bottom floor. Everything else should go on the floor above the bottom floor or even two floors above it. And if you can't build it hidden, build it as obnoxiously huge, honeycombed and layered as possible, with emphasis on the bottom floor. I don't think you'll loose much to raiders, they'll probably get too frustrated and quit a couple of honeycombs in. Unless their goal is to wipe you, in that case, what the hell were you doing to make someone want to grind enough to craft enough C4 to wipe a base as layered as yours?

Hollow Getsuga my server I'm known for having nothing good in my base. It's all kept in a bear cave filled with turrets and the most you can fit in is a pteranodon so you can't just turtle block the turrets. After the 4th 5th and 3rd biggest tribes raided me they gave up on me because they where expending more on explosives than they could get from my main base (not the cave because that's next to impossible)

mine is made of stone, but i decided to basically make a maze out of my base, you make a base with each foundation as an individual room, so far i have it as 4 sets rows of rooms going straight back. and only having your stuff inside one of those rooms. i can only imagine how much hell it would be raid if it were layered with metal or tek. make a base of what it might seem an endless set of doors. that would be awesome. especially if there was zero loot to gain after you're done.

That echoes some ideas, that I had already. Interesting to see it put into practice. It sure would be tedious to raid. But it would also cost an ungodly amount of metal. Especially when adding the vaults. As long as wildcard doesn't re-balance the woefully out of whack costs of defending a base vs. attacking one, hiding your shit will remain your best bet.

I know this is rather late, but on the topic of trolling: build a simple large wooden cube. Large enough to make a generator unhearable. Fuel said generator. Build Turrets inside the wood cube. Hide and wait for raiders. Depending on the people om your server you'll get some hillarious reactions.

Cool video, but I have couple of questions: 1. How fo you build it? I mean do you have some base at a beginning and then start building with metal in other place when you learn engrams, or do you simply upgrade your initial base to this somehow? 2. You protected doors with vaults, but it seems like you haven't protected your gates. Furthermore, if built only two gates - is that enough defence in comparrison to your walls? I mean - if you are a raider - you see a vault above your doors - why not to go directly to gates? 3. The base looks very good, but why you were building it where you did instead of lava, or snow biomes? Is there a particular reason not to build there?

1. On official I would start with a basic base (wood/stone) and implement the metal with the tricks as I progress. However these tricks are able to be used with any type of material so do as you wish. It's just harder to do a lot of these tricks once the structure is fully formed. I say when you start to upgrade to metal then you can begin using the more advanced tricks. 2. The gates were just a simulation example as to what you can do compared to just making one to enter. SOTF contest is great pvp play where everyone starts equal. Offline destruction of your base. 5 vs 1 odds and you only have weak dinos and they have 20 gigs not good pvp. basically destroying the small guys. The best pvp experience on Ark that I didn't mind was when I was taken prisoner and killed my tribe mate cause they didn't like him. they knock me out with tranq arrows and locked me up. I woke up and shot back with my tranq. They tranq me again took me outside and let me go free. I wasn't cussing at them I just accepted I got tricked by them saying they have my lost dino. Now that's good PvP.

if you're doing this kind of building in a tribe it's best to dedicate one person add the builder and demote then to a position in the tribe that doesn't have demo privilege. You'll save a crap ton of walls, foundations, and etc by not being able to say a new item down on a snap point that's already populated.

I never mentioned it but if you REALLY want to stop, building in caves is your safest bet the applying these tips of what I did in the video to your build. Unless your online or have someone online 24/7 you will always get raided unfortunately. I recommend private servers or play single player if you don't want keep rebuilding.

So.. what do we do if we have super strong cheating alphas that won't let you build anything without being raided. And or your alphas have completely claimed big metal farming areas. That's what happens on my server herb the hill in the swamp ect are all taken and turrets everywhere there is no way for me and my tribe to get this much metal. I have never been able to make a vault! Not once. None of my bases have lasted over a week

15 C4 per vault to get in, that's not a lot honestly. I bring 100 with me when I raid. That would get in here pretty quick. Nothing is safe, but that's the point of PvP, it's the challenge. Forget about turrets too, useless. Too easy to milk. Annoying for bobs that's about it.
