Ark is honestly soo fun. They add new maps once in a while with new dinosaurs, mythical creatures, biomes. Whenever they add a new map. It feels like a new game

@CEIII if your talking about the newset creature it isn't in the game yet. The rhyniognatha is coming sometime. If you mean the Charcharodontodaurus. Or charcha. Look anywhere gigas can spawn and if a giga is there kill it so the spawn spot opens up. I suggest researching the taming method though because honestly they are a pain to tame. They can spawn in the following places. - extinction (around the outside of snow dome) - the island (on giga mountain) - the center (volcano) - fjordur (volcano) - gen 2? (I don't remember) - ragnarok (the desert and highlands) Anywhere else a giga spawns. The only maps that don't have them are gen 1 and aberration.

Something that isn't shown in these cutscenes but was confirmed by the developers (a bit too casually, I might say) was that Helena actually "passed out of the universe" (i.e. died) in the time between Extinction and Genesis Part 2 (which very well could have been centuries). Apparently, Homo-Deus (which is what Helena had become) can also die, just at some point very far in the future. Though to be honest, I'm kind of glad that Helena is finally at peace, since Homo-Deus also gradually lose sight of their original selves (as seen in this story), and I can't wait to see her full story explored in the upcoming animated series.

to answer your question about the way Helena Walker looks in virtual space... she has Ascended to a higher state of being (Homo Deus) after she dies in the story. Upon being uploaded into the Ark network she forgot most of who she is, but had a vague idea (Calling herself "The One Who waits") and feels compelled to help US survive and guide us on our journey. As we go on surviving, she begins to understand and remember who she was, before she became lines of code, and subtly changed how she looks to appear more human. Only at the end, just as she tries to project herself as looking human in real space to stay by your side to watch a real sunrise for the last time, as the arks land and begin deleting corrupted code and any trace of element...including her. she disappears just as you turn and watch the landing. Element is the alien material that destroyed Earth thousands of years ago. it was used to make wonderous things, but it had a mind of its own and corrupted and took over everything. its just so happens to be what the ark network itself is made out of, and will be the last to be destroyed. We will miss you Helena, thankyou for everything. At least, we thought she was gone forever, however it turns out she uploaded part of herself in a small guiding droid HLN-A to help the escaping colony ship going to a whole new world that will be Ark 2. Turns out Rockwell had done the same as Helena and Ascended as well, manifesting himself throughout the ship in both virtual and real space. We fight him for the last time as HLN-A faces the ship towards the nearest moon and presses warp, just as the reactor goes off. The cutscenes show what happens to her and hopefully we survive landfall onto Arat Prime... This is all confusing as there where a few extra DLC maps tacked on after the 1st end of the game, almost as a way to continue story leading to Ark 2. its a bit of a confusing transition, but they are still fun maps in a separate space of "virtual reality" in the game aboard the colony ship.

An interesting curiosity is that Deus in Latin and in the current Portuguese language (whether European or Brazilian) means God. so, Homo Deus meant something like man god, or as I prefer: Human god

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames The extra maps not attached to cut scenes (any map other than (in story order) Island, Scorched Earth, Aberration (the three orbital ARKs), Extinction (Earth's corrupted surface), and Genesis (interstellar colony ship that eventually seeds the planet ARK 2 takes place on) are all non-canon.. They were created as custom maps by ARK players. The ones that Wild Card liked the best were added into the game as free DLC. These maps are (in release order): The Center, Ragnarok, Valguero, Crystal Isles, Lost Island, and Fjordur. The Center is noteworthy by having a 'Hollow Earth' or 'Land of the Lost' underground area with an artificial sun. The successive maps are combinations of the biomes and content of the official maps that had come out at the time, making them superior for use in private servers as admins didn't have to pay for multiple servers to utilize the content of multiple maps. They also often included new custom creatures not present in the canon game.

I love ARK! My nephew bought it for me back in 2017 and I have played it ever since. The concept is unique, not only must you survive the environment but you need to contend with other humans (if you play PvP, I don't) and then you have dinosaurs and early mammals that would love to have you for dinner. With many non-story maps you can experience different environments on a single map. I have well over 3000 hours of play time. I even left WoW which I had played from the Beta then stress Beta, and . from launch in November 2005.

The basic story is that humans discovered a new element (named Element) that enabled rapid advancement in technology, but also corrupted all life on the planet (and the planet itself). In true human form, humans didn't notice the damage until it was too late and global extinction was inevitable. The ARKs were built to preserve life, find a way to stop the corruption, and to guide survivors along the path to the next stage of human evolution (what Helena is and what the player becomes). As for Helena's humanlike face, that was the first time we got to see her in game, so for players, she started like that. My guess is that her species (Homo Deus) can appear however they wish, but that's just a guess.

As a very brief explanation, Ark or the Ark Program was humanity's last ditch effort to restore life to Earth. The world was dying, and the corruption had gripped the planet’s surface. Only those strong enough to beat its trials would call them home, and the planet saved. Sort of a trial by fire kind of thing.

If you have played Ark, this scenes are one of the bests scenes ever. What you feel in your first ascension or when you save the Earth is impossible to feel in another game. If you haven't played you won't understand and feel anything. Because Ark is not about a story of a character but your own and friends story.

i love ARK i been playing it since it came out. its such a different game now, i preferred it in the early days tbh. had so much fun, i remember a time when me an my friends had first got guns, we had longnecks and we had lil windows on our stone base and were just shooting at everyone who ran part 😹

so there are sort of 2 stories, you were right in feeling like the ark landing was the end, that was the end of Ark 1's story, Genesis pt1 and pt2 (the ship and the little robot buddy) are basically the set up to ark 2, its great as well but this compilation missed 1 cutscene which helped separate the two. i hope one day you continue the ark survivor stories by Neddy, it tells Helena's journey from the first ark all the way to the destroyed ark with rockwell (its not quite finished yet, its up to part 3 of 4, and is only 2/3 through that part but its definitely worth watching, its all voiced and they have does an amazing job using unreal engine to make the cutscene that cant be shows in game. (if you do i highly recommend the complete versions, it has all the notes in chronological order rather than 1 character at a time, and is how Neddy will be doing them going forward) anywho thanks for the reaction, also im glad you noticed the music, Gareth Coker is a master and i cant wait to hear what he does for ark 2

I love ark, iv logged over 10k hours since 2017, despite its many flaws I love it's story, I don't know why, there's many other AAA titles that have good story's but none draw on the emotions ark does. Iv watched the final genesis 2 cutscene like 20 times now and it always hits me in the feels and feel a lil teary, it's honestly one of the best endings ever in video gaming imo.

the arks a life boats and serve a very similar purpose to noah's ark. to contain life while extreme amounts of danger is happening outside. You should really react to neddy the noodle's video called "Ark: The Complete survival stories" and the scorched earth and aberration survival stories parts 1 and 2. He used actually gameplay to recreate the lore of the game. You both are some really awesome people for checking out the lore of a game I love soo much. Keep making awesome videos too

Helena is a Homo Deus. Which for lack of a better term is a goddess. The reason she "develops" a human head is to communicate with our plane of existence, which is only temporary. This is why HLN-A is created, because it's a fragment of herself put into a robotic body in the real world.

i know that you watched the Helena story from noodles but if you dont get it how did the caracter get into a cryopod its becouse when the word was corrupted there was two groups "the ark project" and the "project genesis", the ark project made thease space stations that at the end of extinction (when the big goy died) the were brought down from space meen while the project genesis made the space ship and in that the genesis simulation (that guy that has woke at the end that was Sandiego he was one of the humans that "helped" the corrupson to spread than he was the one that helped one of Helenas friends to blow up the oversier arena on abberation becouse they tought that they are under a dome on earth and after they blown up the arena they reillased that they are in space so they went underground and built those circles so the can teleport down to earth)
