Sooo, after a few weeks of collecting materials I started this build last week. It's definitely a challenge! I think mine came out a few foundations smaller (I didn't count because you can kind of see right away if you are uneven). Let me just say that doing this in S+ was a nightmare but I was building this elevated so I needed the pieces to float without support so this limited my choices. The sloped triangle roof pieces are the WORST to snap but they tend to work if you keep picking them up and placing them again eventually. After about a week of constant work I'm finally at the point where I can live and craft in it. I'm working on the glass now but it's fighting me every step of the way. Using mods I was able to turn the entire underside of the building into a garage with a tek teleporter up into the main room. I built in a very hostile area of Ebenus Astrum so this lets me run inside from any angle. This was my first build done from a video online and probably was a poor choice for a beginner but I love the end result!

The amount of effort used to bypass system limitations (building the foundations for example, Using pillars and other techniques to ge the right height). Always double check foundations(including fence foundations), walls, pillars and ceilings. I had to demolish a 70x70 base because of one misplaced pillar 😂 since then I double and sometimes tripple check everything, especially on complex or modern builds

I rented a ark server for a few months, just to make this. I ended up with a similar virsion😂. It was lopsided and wacky. Trying to count all the foundations was awful. I failed, but it was fun. This was about 4 years ago. Definitely my most favorite building I have seen in ark. I spent a long time trying to make it in creative.

9/10 I don't give it a perfect 10/10 because of the imperfect placement of some wall and foundation pieces. However, I've 1800+ hours in Ark and know how infuriating its structuring snapping system is/can be. Therefore, I completely understand, and was amused, at the slow decline of care put into the placement of each piece, especially those damned railings. You could definitely tell when the "Fuck it!" mental switch was thrown, and you only seemed to care enough to get the hole filled, perfect structure placement be damned. The finished build is incredible, though! It reminds me a lot of Halo, for some reason. Using the "natural" flaw of triangle structures not closing along their edges, giving the illusion of an opening roof, was clever, whether it was intended or not. It would have looked out-of-place had the beam cut through the roof. The way you made it makes it look more intentional. I can't imagine how many hours this took. Considering how polished Conan's building seems to be compared to Ark's (this assertion based solely on watching (primarily your) Conan Exiles build videos), I'm really impressed your stuck with it. Therefore, I won't say "I would have loved to see it furnished," because that feels like asking too much; especially in light of an awesome structure. However, I can't help but wonder what it would look like if it were furnished like it was being lived in. An undisputed thumbs up from me.

I did it with 90 foundations, spread the second big triangle at the 30 count and each side of the star has 15 sides and all fits perfectly. You can do it at 60 and gap it at 20 with 10 sides to each point for a(much) smaller pyramid. What I like about Sven is the somewhat sloppy building style, where nothing is actually planned, no advanced building tricks are being used and he just builds as he sees it right there and then, in his mind. He's awesome for getting an idea what you can build in Ark. For specific step by step guides, I recommend Aaron Longstaff's page and also On Cue deserves a special mention. For interiors FirePumpkin does some awesome stuff with vanilla and s+ items

Dinosaurs is part fantasy part reality. A lot of the reconstructions are based on today’s animals and a lot of assumptions. What you see in museums is most likely not what the real dinosaurs and none-dinosaurs looked like. Much is exaggerated.

Just play the island? Yeah they added in some fantasy creatures but the map is more or less just a regular island. Honestly I just think they should add in the ability to disable certain Dino's in the server, so you could play it more "realistically". I enjoy the fantasy though, keeps the game interesting. Would have gotten boring rather quick if they kept ark how it was when it was released.

This looks like something I'd build. Except I rather like metal with S+ borderless tinted glass ...and I like to make them float in the air over water (also solves the flat ground issue, and there are ways to float things without turning off support, even in vanilla). Also, the 6 spires that kinda intrude into the large exterior glass areas, I'd take them out about 2 triangles and then angle them down to their point, which would be up 2 from the large glass areas, to have a more cohesive pyrimid profile. But in practice, after a few really elaborate "screw your frames" builds, I've stuck with a bit simpler shapes with more usable space for the amount of parts (mostly).
