Arkansas Football Season Predictions: 2024 Preview, Impact Transfers, More

Chase Robinson and Chris Lee preview Arkansas’s football roster for the 2024 season and share their predictions for the Razorbacks. Topics include:
- Boise State transfer quarterback Taylen Green ran for 436 yards and threw for 1,732 last season, and provides a big (6-foot-6, 223 pounds) presence behind center for the Razorbacks.
- The Razorbacks added Utah transfer Ja’Quinden Jackson (4.9 ypc) to complement returnee Rashod Dubinion.
- Arkansas has a wide receiver room full of size, including returnees Andrew Armstrong, Isaac TeSlaa (all 6-foot-4), the 6-foot-7 Tyrone Borden, Jaedon Wilson (6-foot-3) and a healthy tight end Luke Hasz (6-foot-3), who was tremendously productive in five games last season before an injury.
- Speaking of size, the Razorbacks have that along the offensive line in 300-pounders Fernando Carmona (324 pounds; a San Jose State transfer), returning guards Patrick Kutas and Josh Braun (both 6-foot-5 and 312 and 349 pounds, respectively), Tennessee transfer Addison Nichols (6-foot-5, 306) and Michigan State transfer Keyshawn Blackstock (6-foot-5, 325 pounds).
- Arkansas also has size and experience along the defensive line, with all-star candidate Landon Jackson, along with returning tackles Eric Gregory and Cam Ball, and a bunch of experience on the whole, especially with the addition of Albany transfer Anton Juncaj at one end.
- Coach Sam Pittman hit the portal hard at linebacker, adding Georgia’s Xavian Corey, Marshall’s Steven Dix and Jacksonville State’s Larry Worth.
- The Razorbacks have a ton of experience in the defensive backfield, including transfer defensive backs Marquise Robinson (South Alabama), Doneiko Slaughter (Tennessee), Anthony Switzer (Utah State) plus a pair of returning starters at safety in Jayden Johnson and Hudson Clark.
- Arkansas also has special teams experience in Hawaii transfer Matthew Shipley (kicker) and punter Devin Bale (Northern Colorado).

Rocket was good his freshman and sophomore year. He was way too slow last year. Green couldn’t break a tackle. The RB room reloaded this year with minimum or better talent. Do better research

RB room is talented, young but talented... Jackson had nearly 800 yards as a freshman at Utah, started 11 games, faced 6 top 50 rush defenses.. Dubinion some experience, and another freshman Russell..

Uh oh chase you didn’t do your research. The RB room is great, we have Jackson one of the hungriest back in the league big every-down back. Next we have RD back who is a good second shifty back, and to fill out the three back field Braylon Russell the 6’1” 250lb freshman coming in who the coaching staff is raving about and have packages already set up for him. With the o line is going to be much better and Bobby back this running game will be strong.

Backs are great, your QB has Bobby Petrino in his helmet. One of the best TE's in the country and a stacked receiver core. Sam Pittman himself is coaching the OL (With a new OL Coach). The defense is TWill Unleashed. Bowl game confirmed. I'd put a stack on the over if the odds were any good at all. But definitely don't tell, I'd rather they sleep.

@@bobwilliams5506 What are you talking about it’s the same thing year after year. Sam is doing all the right things to make this team better. Two year ago we had a depleted DB room that worked out to the worst D in the power 5, Sam goes out and hires the best DB coach in the nation and the most undervalued up and coming DC in the nation. Last year we had a major communication problem between the o line room and the OC. Sam goes out and hires Bobby(a coach that can run and manage a offense by himself) then Sam makes himself the GA in the o line room. Sam is pushing all the right buttons, it just AR fans are so scared of being left behind that we forget how deep the hole is that we have to climb out of. If you’re waiting for change this is the year you see Real Hog Ball again! LETS GO HOGS!!!!!!!

Ark fan here. Realistically expecting 6-6, maybe 7-5. But don't underestimate what Petrino brings. He is so hungry to redeem himself with this fan base. He loves Arkansas. He has weapons and knows how to put dudes in positions to score that was severely lacking last year. 8 win ceiling if things really fall into place. They should be an exciting team to watch, win or lose.
