We live in a small town near where this landing happened. The airport was a former Army Air Corps training base. They regularly fly C-130s out of Jacksonville up here for touch and go practice since the local airport has an 8,000 ft runaway that's almost always unused.

As a member of the 154th squadron “TATS” for my last 20 years of service as a Loadmaster instructor, Evaluator, I don’t think this could be construed as anything extraordinary! We did many landings on dirt strips at night using NVG’s retrieving Army troops, sometimes in the mud. I don’t think this landing on a highway is very impressive! I’ve been retired for 18 years and still love and respect my squadron!❤️!

Bono is a very small town outside of Jonesboro Arkansas. Farm land surrounds the section of highway where the planes landed. Tractors are seen on the highways; military planes have never landed on our highways. Landing Military planes on a highway in foreign countries isn’t new, but in rural areas here, it seems nefarious. Local comms look like Military intelligence briefing 😂 It was a relief to learn that was the National Guard landing. Muchbetter than FEMA practice runs. 😮

Seeing four C-130s landing on a dirt road one after the other, offloading a Company of Army soldiers and their vehicles and equipment to begin combat operations and then all four aircraft back in the air in less than 20 minutes is, somehow, more impressive than this.
