Troop J dispatches Cpl. L. Moore (J-29) to check the area of Interstate 40 near the 55 mile marker in Clarksville (Johnson County) for a vehicle fire. Upon his arrival, the vehicle was fully engulfed.

Full disclosure. I live in Clarksville and spent 35 years as a Paramedic here. I love this Channel. These guys spend 99% of their time helping folks. ASP officers are very professional. I like the channels that show the other side as well but it's nice to see the positive stuff too. We don't want to live in a society with no law enforcement. Believe me. Nothing wrong with learning new practices ever but it's good to see this.

Arkansas really needs to make more crossovers on the interstate. This is poor response time for everyone involved. Every 2 miles span should be more understandable than what they have now.

Sadly they're abused by the general public during traffic back ups. First responders understand the danger of using them. They understand you exit that cut thru and you HAVE to get to Highway speeds. The general public? Bunch of dumbasses that think the traffic yields to them. I fully understand why they aren't utilized.

Unless it’s rain soaked take the median. Obviously a fire truck won’t make it but a car/small SUV can.

I am so glad the driver was able to safely get over, get stopped and get out without getting hurt. Lady was probably terrified and thinking she was going to die. She has to be devastated to say the least. Good work everyone in ensuring nothing else caught fire and that no one else got hurt (kudos to those who stopped to help before the trooper got there).

That's ridiculous. By the time he was able to turn around, you couldn't even see the thick black smoke anymore. ASP needs to make more access turnarounds. Anything else (kidnapping, carjacking) and the incident would have been over before the ASP got to the access road to turn around.

Pro Tip: If unsure vehicle is actually on fire, douse with gasoline or other flammable accelerant. Introduce ignition source. Step back and enjoy viewing vehicle consumed by flames.

Officer couldn't even stick around to give a blockade for the tow truck driver while he loaded that vehicle. Very unprofessional of him plus not checking his equipment before he left the station

I love my ASP but when seconds count, the police are minutes away. Please stop the nit picking. If your car is smoking, get out of the car and get away from it. When I taught, one of my kids lost their Dad in a car fire. They were trapped. The electrical stopped working.

The jeep fire was way too big for any fire extinguisher to be effective. When you have that large of a vehicle fire, you need to get non firefighters away from the vehicle until firefighters arrive on scene!
