Thanks Russ. The 5-20 with 850nm IR will stay on my .22lr. The 3-12 (when its available) with a 94nm IR will go on my Ratting sub 12 air rifle. Perfect.
@DarrylLeaning2 ай бұрын
For sure if you are close-ish range (10-15m) in darkness and silence, and you move slightly to zero on a rat, or turn on the video, a rat will turn and look directly at the glow of the 850nm and pinpoint you. They don't react to minor sounds and movements at that range with the 940nm. I have recordings of both. Completely different reactions, or lack thereof between them. I find more prey appearing with the 940nm, so also likely, there are some spooked you never see when using 850nm.
@RussDouglas2222 ай бұрын
Absolutely, these 940nm pills are very useful, and you only need buy one to swap between several Zulus scopes (and the upcoming multi-spectral ThermNight range), as one pill fits them all. Thanks for watching, and for commenting. Cheers. Russ

@RussDouglas2228 ай бұрын
I found with the 35MOA mount on my Krait's 20MOA raiser rail, once zeroed my Y was +241. Obviously zooming at all centers the reticle, but if folk want a better centred reticle at base mag, I found switching to the 0MOA rail, reduced my Y almost to single figures. Cheers. Russ

Russ do you need to change anything on the scope after changing the pil from 850 to 940? Thanks
@RussDouglas222Ай бұрын
@@andrewmelvin5124 Nope, you'll simply find it looks around 25% less bright at the same settings, which is the price to pay for covert IR. But just turn the IR brightness (power) up a touch, or tighten the beam via the lens -to get the same brightness. Thanks for watching -please share, cheers. Russ

Do you think this optic would hold up on a break barrel magnum rifle. Would the recoil damage it.

So does the 940 nm light use less Power than the 850?
@RussDouglas2228 ай бұрын
Nope, just the different wavelength is further from the visual spectrum, so it's more covert for skittish prey, though the downside is it's not as bright for digital NV. The ultimate covert NV is security camera 'lights' that appear totally black on buildings, they'll still be illuminating. Thanks for watching, cheers. Russ

Where can we buy the 940nm pill from ? Have they changed from vcsel to led ?
@brucemcpherson88328 ай бұрын
The 940nm pill we tested was a vcsel
@RussDouglas2228 ай бұрын
No they haven't changed, but they are currently developing LED IR. Click on my link in the description to access my AirgunForum poll, where I gauge what interest there is in Zulus users being able to choose between 850nm & 940nm IR. If you'd rather I could post the same poll here on KZbin? Cheers. Russ

cant wait to bang this on my cz457 LRP. been using the pard on the back of an element helix and its nigh on impossible to judge distance at night. spent all that money on a class day scope, only to replace it with this for £600. anyone would think im a rich man. i am not

I think you're gonna absolutely love both the day and night clarity, and the LRF/BCL functionality. 👌🤓 Thanks for watching, cheers. Russ

@@RussDouglas222 I think so too mate. Bought the pard as a bit of an introduction to night vis and found it ok. ready to step up to something better with LRF and BCL will be a dream. Im used to setting up ballistic calculators after pushing my rimfire a long way out at the range so should be ok with setup. No idea when the next batch are arriving as optics warehouse have said they are waiting on an order.

Right then gents I am back. So pushing range out to 120 sometimes with the 22lr, I want my calculator to be bang on. I’ve chronod my rifle to get the most accurate results. I’ve had to lower the bullet bc to match actual real life drops, popped it into my table all looks good. Send table to my zulus successfully, all seems good. Range a target at 120, table on the app says 11.82 moa, yet the scope is telling me to hold over 12?????? I’ve tried sending the table multiple times, I’ve made sure I’m on the moa reticle, I’ve updated the scope ¿? What’s going on.
@RussDouglas2227 ай бұрын
Hmm I'd say 11.82 = 12? 🤔 Cheers. Russ

@@RussDouglas222 no problem russ. It was quite a big difference. Was telling me to hold way over 12.5 moa. Which is a miss at that sort of range really. Been out tonight with it managed 8 with a hell of a lot of misses from trusting the calculator. Its a work in progress managed a headshot at 100 meters from my own ballistic app though so we’re happy

Every video on the scope seems like it’s a paid actor I think it’s a pile of crap. Nobody wants to do an accurate test. Nobody wants to actually hit the thing around around a little bit to see if it freaking keeps zero. Compared to the other ones on the market. It doesn’t seem very good on the reviews.
@RussDouglas2228 ай бұрын
I use this week-in and week-out for pest control, and it keeps zero perfectly. I did a random zero check last week at the range @25m and it put three pellets in one comma-shaped hole @25m. 🎯 If you don't believe the honest opinions of fellow shooters like me - then that's huge red flag to me that you're perhaps being paid by A.N. Other to slag it off (or you simply don't like modern tech). I absolutely love using great kit, and this does exactly what it says on the box. 👌 You don't like that, cool - go invest your money in something bigger / heavier / more expensive and lower-res' -to try do do what this scope does; good luck. 😆 Cheers. I'm a pest controller and have no connection to Arken whatsoever. I've been using a Zulus LTF 5-20 for 2 months. On Air rifle, .17hmr and .243. Once I'd put the correct info into my phone and uploaded the ballistic table to the scope it's not missed a beat. I've shot rats and rabbits from 15yds out 103yds. Fox at 185yds and a 4" Gong at 300yds. All using the LRF and Holdover mode. It's bounced around the cab of a Gator, a Quad and my truck with no zeroing issues. The Zulus was so good I've bought another one. For the price it is better than any of the other NV devices I've used.
