The other thing you could have tried is the other belt, maybe it was a bit tighter? (It ought to be the same size and length, obviously, but you never know!). Very odd that you had to screw in the spindle though, slight issue there, which should've been identified - perhaps it will be added to an updated version of the manual at some point by the manufacturer). Incidentally, it would be possible to listen via headphones via a pair of Bluetooth headphones, of course. Although, this would have to be something the purchaser already had, or would otherwise purchase separately. (Alternatively, using headphones via your phone - which could get the Bluetooth signal could work also). Just some thoughts!

Would be nice if it had at the least auto return. And line out jacks. And anti skate features for that price.

We have turntables with automatic return tonearms, which are used in our jukeboxes and some vintage floor-standing record players. However, the automatic tonearm does not have adjustable counterweight, which reduces some adjustability.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If I wanted a step-up from a suitcase player, I would go with Crosley or Victrola. Look at your videos. See what's good and not so good and make a decision from there.

I wish they would say what the Ohm ratings for the speakers are. If they can handle 8 Ohm speakers you could easily replace these wimpy book shelf speakers with some old school ground speakers like my Sony U560 3-ways (there are adapters to change from RCA plugs to clip on ports.) It looks like those are actual screws so you could replace the cart with a non propitiatory cart (I think.) This system is basically a turntable with a built in 2 port Stereo Receiver (Aux & Bluetooth) So it has potential that you gotta think outside the box to make it great. Here is a example: You could build a horizontal PC with a Fractal Design Node 202, or for the 60's/70's feel a Raijintek Pan Slim HTPC case, and add a wood grain skin on it. Set the turntable on top of the PC hook the PC output to the AUX on the turntable and you have a modern slim stereo rack build. You can add a external Blu-Ray (or DVD) drive for CD playing too. If your really adventurous you can get a Silverstone GD09B-C case and buy a new old stock 5.25 Cassette Tape deck and install it into the PC like the one seen on LGR's channel. Making it a real all in one stereo.

It can support speakers with an impedance of 8 ohms. It has Bluetooth output functionality, so it gives you more possibilities without changing any of its interfaces. Of course, adding a Line out interface is an upgrade we will seriously consider in the future.

That's cool! We have a couple of gristmills around here as well, both still grind cornmeal and sell it. I buy a couple bags and keep them in the freezer to keep the weevils out of them whenever we run low. I just love the stone-ground flavor. Beck's Mill has been here since 1808 and was the first mill in our county. Spring Mill up in Lawrence County dates back to 1817. Both are less than an hour's drive from me :)

Not a bad system for someone that will be doing the transition from a "toy TT" to something that will sound and perform a little better. I don't know if I would pay more than $150 for something like this though.

Perhaps it has fixed anti-skating for 3.5 gram cartridges. Would limit what cartridges you could upgrade to. Overall, a nice unit, though.

25:00 The spindle should NOT have anywhere near that much vertical movement. Okay, screwing it down all the way fixed it. STILL a QA issue. The cartridge looks like a Sanyo-Fisher MG-09, also sold as 'Groove Tool'. Literally the cheapest magnetic cart available.

of course they care that it arrives well, because it means.... less support. Even they maybe take a hit on the packaging, it will pay off in the end, because they dont need to stock parts, talk to angry customers, need no service hotline, etc. It does not mean that they care about their products, all they care about is... MONEY. They only do things for one reason, to make money.

I'm a bad choice to review these things - I suffer from perfect pitch. Too many things wrong with it out of the box. A shame, with a bit of attention to quality control and anti-skate, it could be a contender in the lower $100-$120 price range. At this price? No way. Thank you for your well paced review. Oh, did it have Bluetooth out on the phono?

Platter wobble seems to be quite a common feature that never seemed to even bother the cheapest turntables in the until the revival analog.

I can't say I have ever been a huge fan of wobble as it can result in resonances resulting in annoying rumble.

Great video!, but I have a neighbor who is wanting to sell/get rid of some old 10"-12" 78 rpm records, these are the bakelite 78's,( the ones that break like clay pigeons!) and an old victrola in a standing cabinet, I'm in California, and need some comment/recommendations, thanks 😊

You can still get a direct sound hookup. You’ll probably need to adjust the volume on the turntable and the volume on the device you’re capturing the sound with, but it should work fine.

Watching this again, I wonder if your stylus is the green AT 95E. If so, it’s a step up from the 3600. However, even with this, it’s NOT worth it!!!

It’s actually their own cart. I THINK it’s the same Malaysian cartridge that Victrola and Crosley branded as their own.

Id of been angry with enitial impressions personally. Definitely a step below my Public Kingdom portable that also allows the user to connect to a real HiFi yet cost 3 quarters of what you pay for this steaming pile of garbage. The MPK has a audiotechnica cart, a plastic platter I know yet not as wobbly as this and the speed is right on and it even has anti roller skating and everything! I felt in my honest opinion the speed consistancy was just not as good on this as it is on the mpk portable you revued that I own. Sorry if this sounded snobbish but yeah this comment is a swing at this company and this set in the video Im not gonna lie it sucks.

Not sure who the market for this is. It doesn't have the versatility of a turntable with line/phono outs, or the convenience of a suitcase player. Both of which can be had for less money.

There is a One By One and Teac turntable that has the exact issue with the belt, chances are the Artrocket. Not a huge problem, however for the turntable novice it could be a frustrating experience especially if bought at a big box store where no real attention is given to the customer. I work at a place that specializes in a wide range of gear and have seen a few of these come in for this exact issue. I usually resolve and advise, however a lot of places do not.

Well I do like how this TT looks and by the way another great review ,but a novice or a newbie might not have known how to fix that belt issue you having way more experience on turntables and doing a lot of unboxing vids you already know what to look for even when the platter did not fit right on spindle you stopped and looked at the situation and since you are a logical thinker you figured out the problem but a regular person would of panic me being a anal doofus type this would bother me I don't like platter wobble its one of my pet peeves to me that platter was not cast right it is not bad for 200.00 dollars and you were right I was saying that you should not have to fix belt as I watched vid sorry I did not mean to yell at the TV ,I also found the tone arm was a little loose it did not move sideways but it had an up and down issue to me it moved too much ,I even have a cheap BSR that is considered sub par with a ceramic cart the one I grew up with but I keep around in honer of my father who had one just like this exact model in one of his console units but the tone arm is perfectly still very little movement at all ,but it sounded very full the only quip I have about sound is that there should be a bass and treble adjustment ,todays records are pretty bassy I have bought some newer albums and boy they are sometimes too bassy but a lot of the older records from 70's and 80's were mixed differently especially when I could not buy a new album when they first came out usually a second pressing would not be or sound great overall it did look fantastic and maybe as speakers break in it might sound better ,the cart was odd never seen anything like this it was for sure not a audio tech cart and usually groove tool carts have a red stylus I think for the price it was not bad my opinion if a person is going to buy this TT or any TT they should check out your unboxing vids cause there are a lot of problems that seem to crop up and your experience and patience seems to solve these silly issue at least they can be ready if a minor problem comes up it would be great if you can make a vid of TT set ups with these issues and how to fix of solve them at least the newbie will have a fighting chance thanks again JRo

Thank you for your comment. The turntable belt issue is not very common, and it could be due to individual installation problems or transport issues. Nevertheless, we will provide online technical support for our customers. As a US-based company located in Atlanta, we can provide timely technical feedback for North American customers. Our cartridge is a moving magnet cartridge system that we designed and commissioned for production, aiming to achieve minimal dependency on external suppliers for components and provide the highest quality products possible. We are constantly incorporating more of our own design and understanding into our products to improve them.
