This video was incredibly helpful. I just completed it successfully on my level 41 mage. I would never have pulled it off without this video, but here are a few additional comments that I discovered on my (many) unsuccessful attempts before I got it right. At 3:00 - be sure you stick to the left side of the wall so you don't aggro the mobs below and DIE. At 5:20 - stick to the right side near the wall so you don't aggro additional mobs and DIE. At 5:25 - run to the right side of the boxes so you don't aggro additional mobs and DIE. Also, run up the right side of the hill. The center is too steep to climb, and you will DIE. At 5:55 - remember the urn to the right is a reset spot, so jump up on it if you are low on health/mana so you don't DIE. At 7:25 - stay near the wall as you begin opening the second set of graves so you don't aggro the ones already active and DIE. And finally, if this is your first dungeon farm, expect to fail and DIE over and over. You will likely need a stockpile of invisibility potions to burn through while you are learning the mechanics. But man is it satisfying when it all comes together. Thanks again to Arlaeus for the excellent information.

For anyone new to this, one of the most important things is (I don't know if it was mentioned in the video, it probably was!) getting a minor speed enchantment on whatever boots you get/have, it makes the jumping and running a ton easier.
@hanspetervollhorst14 жыл бұрын
One hint for beginners: 8:32 Arlaeus says that every time you interact with the boss, one grave gets opened, so what you can do to get the remaining graves if you missed some while running and opening them, is jumping up the wall next to the boss, wand him and immediately take a step back and use line of sight to drop aggro. Rinse and repeat until he opened all the remaining graves. you can also use this technique "stand" mobs that you struggle pulling when going for the kill nearby the boss. Also note that you can pull the heroes independently from the zombies, so if you frostbolt a zul farrak hero standing nearby the boss, only the heroes will attack you and you can pull the zombies after killing the zombies and regenerating. This is useful in the beginning when you are not used to the different run-speeds and different health levels yet. You can also solo the boss at around (level 46/ 47) by standing one the wall left of him, frostbolting and getting out of sight while he is casting. once he stops casting, you have to immediately move back into sight, cast another frostbolt-fireblast and get back out of sight. rinse and repeat until he is down. It certainly will get a bit frustrating in the beginning since the boss resets if your timing of getting back into sight is off but ultimately it is worth it since over time you get his staff and gloves which is a huuuge boost for doing these pulls. Things are much easier when using mp5 buff-food and according to others the minor speed enchant on boots (which I never used though). Gl

As an ally mage I level my defense at the silithid swarmer's in the Barrens. Pull 2, and they are level 20. They spawn tiny little bugs... DOZENS of them, that all hit for 1 damage. Just let them multiply into the hundreds while they tap on mana shield/Icebarrier/Iceblock. Then when you get low on mana or HP, use a rank 1 nova and kill all the tiny bugs and kill the 2 level 20s. This even works at level 60.

Awesome guide! Couple things i noticed from my own runs: The initial patrol setup is ideal for pulling as few mobs as possible. If I died and tried again, I would often run into at least one patrol where the second pot runs out, and would always end up dying. So the most efficient way i find if you die on first attempt, is just to reset and try again. Also, if Dustwraith spawns by the boss, don't panic, he is basically the same as a zombie. I did lose aggro on him when he was low on health, not sure if that was a bug or boss mechanic. But got it back quickly without any issues, just be aware that might happen

**Update for all the would-be do'ers of this method:** Potions share a CD now. You're pretty much forced to wait the 10 mins OR You go B I G M O D E. Buff up, mana shield and ice barrier, mount up at the start, skip the pack on the right and just run down the hall. As you inevitably aggro things, try to jump forward and turn your char to face towards them as they swing at you (you wont get dazed if you get hit head on) The mobs will be slowed as you run, so you maneuver around the pack thats immediately the right of the hallway without pulling them, get up the hill and jump to the first reset spot. If you get dazed just lay down and wait for death because you cant make that jump to the reset spot without a mount, BUT thats why you try to keep up Ice Barrier as long as possible because with IB you dont get dazed. Ive pulled this off a few times at 40-44 but its difficult with the aggro ranges. Still doable tho. This allows you to immediately invis off the first spot after you drink/eat up. Good luck yall.

Hey Arlaeus, I just started doing this run on my mage at level 40 and after really struggling to get to the GY I came up with a slight variation on your strategy that seems to be easier for me. So as a possible alternative i would suggest. 1) Do the first (lesser) invis pot as shown in the video. 2) Do the jump up onto the wall. 3) Then instead of using the second invis pot, mana shield up, frost shield up, and run through to the second reset spot shown in the 42-54 leveling video. This is a relatively safe run, does not pull too many mobs. 4) from here you can use the second invis pot and you make it a lot further through the run before dropping invisibility. This is just what i found was more reliable for me
@arlaeus94914 жыл бұрын
Sure man whatever works best for you!! :)

For those doing it in SOD P3 - don't go for either Invis pots or the wall reset. Invis pots give you only a very limited range, you end up dismounted, and, most importantly, it puts your health pot on CD. Having an extra 700-900 HP when you need it is much more useful for surviving. The wall - it's a difficult jump, and if you fail it - you die. It's MUCH easier to just keep running to the first set of boxes (second, if we count the ones that now have an invisible wall). I died many times trying to make the jump until I realized that running to the safe spot and popping a HP pot simply works.

Hi! One thing you forgot to mention is the little ledge on top of the boss that you jump onto is very important to hit, since you'll just fall into a hole (see 10:28) and have trouble getting out. And die! Thanks for the guide though, very helpful!

I LOVED your video, I started at 42, like 3500 mana or so with the arcane int buff of 22, and I saw you used invis pots but they were so expensive on my auction house I almost felt discouraged, but I bought 2 of each anyway to see if I could do it, I did it on second try (there was no third to begin with anyway) but I didn't want to go back and buy some more for such ridiculous price (1 gold each or so). I combined your strategy of killing them with another video's strategy of no usage of invis pots, only hiding behind rocks and stuff and I'm doing great at 43 (did 3 successful runs so far). THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

I found that hugging the wall on the right means that you approach the corner slightly to the left of the corner (more face on to the ledge you are trying to jump on) and it is easier to jump up then.

A couple things should be made clear now that I've figured them out myself regarding the stats you "should" have. You've got Warchief's Blessing as an active buff. This gives an additional 300 HP, and an additional 10 MP5. Meaning, realistically/un-buffed, A level 41 mage can expect to have around 1500-1800 HP with mostly Eagle affixes, and 110-120 spirit with about 3-4 items with Owl affixes. This confused the hell out of me when I first saw the video. Additionally, my mana while casting with 123 Spirit and Mage Armor was 32.4 .

Nice new video :) 2 things to mention for ZG GY: 1. There is also a reset spot at the beginning on the left side (opposite where you reset, where you find the basilisk) which is a must have for trolls at low levels, might also be better as would keep you closer from the other entrance 2. when aggroing the 3rd pack of zombies, you don't need to wait for the reset, you can as a troll jump without the mount to have them not being reset and start the pull faster, without even having to annoy the boss :)

If you like having shortcuts on your mouse remember to use CTRL(C) Shift(S) and ALT depending on which you are comfortable reaching for while playing. S or C+WheelUp(WUp) and S or C+WheelDown(WDn) also feel extremely intuitive. For warriors, switching between stances or for druids all your forms fit there. For mage: C+WDn = Evocation || C+WUp = Mana Gem || S+WDn = Cold Snap. Favorite thing to use it for is Druid though: C+WUp = Cat || C+WDn = Bear || S+WUp = Travel || S+WDn = Stag

So my advice to everyone take a look before make the pull, if the mob is "blood drinker" there is not risk tu loose the pull because they are meele, if the mob walking around is called "shadow hunter" wait for a while till he get out of the Graveyard Room and then u can start the pull without problems... also i know more "safe places".. if u need more advices or things let me know.

One thing I don't see mentioned anywhere but I think are important. At 5:10 as you're running down the hallway, sometimes there are patrols moving up the hallway and around the fountain. These can make surviving extremely tricky and you'll really have to pull out all the stops sometimes to avoid dying, including smart nova/Cone of Cold usage, bandaging, and sometimes using a mana gem to keep mana shield up. Wanted to add something here that can make this run bit easier and faster. When you are pulling the graves on the rear and right side (facing the boss) as you move towards the safe spot, edge closely to the left and nova. This will actually lock all the mobs much closer together and pre stack. You can do this on the right side too by just moving towards the boss on the last grave on the left. This makes the pull much easier and quicker. Wand boss, wand a mob instead of flamestike and follow same procedure. What you will notice is, all the mobs pull more efficiently and are pre stacked in some packs and much closer together in others. This makes getting the blizzard pounding on all mobs from the start much easier and shaves about 1 minute off the timer.

I think it's a lot more safer and also quicker that at 07:35 you frost nova - blink towards the fountain to your right and jump on top of that instead. Less chance of the mobs hitting you from the side since you move away from them further. Also you can start open up the graves quicker.

Nice one again, I had a suspicion one could get in earlier. But dude, you don't have to just Blizzard them in that sweet-spot to the right. As soon as you jump to the left ledge, you can pop two more R1 or Rwhatever Blizzards. Way quicker, and it just helps getting them more stacked as you're slowing them from both sides. Other than that, keep up the good work, I'm about to venture into ZG for the first time to try my luck there... Peace all!

You don't have to use the first invisibility potion showed. Just use your mount and run to the wall where you jump up using your mount shown in the video at 3:56. There're also 2 patrols who go back and forth from the room where he uses the second invisibility potion and the middle room where the potion runs out. I found it useful to wait for them to get into the first room, so there's no chance that they stand by the second shadowcaster, so you don't have to use a nova there, but you can save the nova for the mobs by the entrance to the next room. There're also 2 pots on the screen all the way to the right in 5:54 that you can hide behind if you enter from the right and use as a safe spot, where you can also mount up.

As someone who did this on a 42 mage without any prior experience doing these pulls, I have some tips that would have saved me alot of pain. It's not faster but I think it's safer... They both revolve around that 1st safe spot you have to get to when entering the gy. F that jump up there.. It's not always so easy getting up there when there's a pack of mobs on your tail and if you miss it you might die a few times. So my tips... Only do it once... When entering the gy, run straight to the 1st reset you would use after opening the Graves. Or the one up the stairs by the boss entrance. No jumping involved.. 2nd. After opening the first set of Graves as normal when you finish opening the 2nd Graves, rest on the water fountain instead of the that shitty jump. Even as a female and shooting the pots, if you mess up that jump on the first try you're at a poor angle to recover. Best to save that jump for the very last Graves to be opened when you will have alot of time and approach it from the best angle. Also, someone said it in a previous video and I want to restate it. Get the minor boot speed enchant

As some who was also learning the run on a mage, it wasn’t until I got to level 44 that this was faster than killing pirates or Murlocks. At Level 42 the increased Argo range makes it very sophisticated. there are lots of very subtle things you need to be aware of and have good rng.

So I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong, but I get everything done correctly up until the point where I'm opening graves. I interact with the boss, then start opening them, but literally as soon as they run to the boss, they immediately aggro back to me, even if im at the farther end of the room. (the boss also leaves his little room to start casting on my in the middle of the graveyard so that could also be part of it.) I've tried hugging the walls etc, but they still immediately aggro to me and sprint to me after they run up to the boss. Can only get like the first row of graves opened before they tear through my shields. I'm a level 42 human mage.

As an update to hopefully help others: I figured out what I was doing wrong, and MAN DO I FEEL DUMB. When he finishes his first row, he gets into the safe spot behind the pots. @ 7:05. I honest to god thought he was just stopping there to explain the whole strafe thing, and that in actuality, you would continue to open graves. I know 95% of people won't be as dumb as me with this, but hopefully it can help someone.

I'm not sure if you have gone over this, but if you fall down when jumping, there's actually a reset spot down there. I just found it on accident. It's between one of the cubes and the pillar.

There is a way to reset if you accidentally pull the witchdoctor by jumping up onto the brazier you can see at 13:19 and even up on top of the pillar, they can't hit you and if you're out of sight, all the mobs reset and you can go restart the pull.

Also a tip for beginners, since i was a complete newbie to this a few hours ago. As i tried this with a 40 mage and still had MASSIVE problems getting to gy i found it working out MUCH better to use the reset spot in the scarab room and then just run the rest of the way into gy with full health/shields. Also when you stand on the wall where you use ur 2nd invis potion mark the pat. They take much time to patrol around but try to find the right timing where they dont aggro when ur potion runs out. That ruined many runs for me. Other than that the guide is very good

I was really into it, got the gear and Pots... then after some learning-time in ZF I figured out that the GY isnt working on Turtlewow 😢 Resetspots are not very good and most important: the mobs cant reach you on 2 sides of the wall what fu**s up everything (even if you manage to open graves and survive)
@joeydubs86943 жыл бұрын
if you mount up in the begin with ice shield theres two spots where there is a set of clay pots where when you run to behind them it will drop the aggro you have of all the mobs on you after a min then you run to next spot and do again on the third go you mount all the way to your graveyard spot just a lil tip so you dont have to spend money on invis pots works for everytime never have problems

If you have a high level char use it and go in the dungeon and practice all the jumps etc. Use the invisibility potion at the beginning to scale up the wall. Buy scrolls of stamina, armor and spirit, you can have all 3 at the same time, and get the enchant speed to boots.

You can actually get there without using the expensive invis potion. Just go to the first reset point on top of the wall, then mount up and run to the 2nd reset spot by the two brick stones thingy. Then wait for combat to drop and run to the reset spot at the graves. Did this at level 40 and saved me alot of money on the expensive invis pot

I have a piece of meta and some advise that might help some of my fellow frustratees! Indeed Arlaeus makes this look very easy. And it wont be when you try it the first 25'ish times. And YES - if you think this is just as easy as watching this video and then repeating you're wrong :) But Don't worry! Combine all the bits of advise from these comments, Arlaeus' and others videos along with you own experience, and you'll figure it out. Here's some of the things I noticed, that makes a big difference for me: 1) Shadowcasters are your worst enemy. You can easily outrun and dodge the melee mobs, but Shadowcaster have an insane shadowbolt when you're level 40-42. Avoid them when you can, and be extremely cautions when you run to reset spot two (the rubble along the wall). Shadowcaster patrols will easily shoot you no matter how you stand / lay. So take your time and mark the patrols going to and from the first big area (where you are on the wall), and time your run. 2) If you're struggeling with the very first part then pop a lesser invisibility potion in the very beginning and use the wall jumping trick Arlaeus' shows. Be careful when scaling the wall that you don't aggro a patrol beneath you, because the wall you're on isn't a reset spot. Jump down at the end of the wall and then mount up and time it well enough and you wont even be followed to the hill where you jump over the sly thing on the wall and onto the wall itself. From here it's easier. No matter what type of mobs are right at the gate to the next area, you can outrun them with blink + shields or just on your mount. Hurry to the rubble by the wall (reset spot two) and jump in here. If there are no patrols and all the mobs are behind you, you can calmly move around until you break LOS and reset the mobs. Witch doctors sometimes feck with you a little here. Move around until you get the angle right. Keep shields up in here for unexpected hits, bolts or lava totems. When you're ready look at the mobs between you and the fountain. Avoid the side with more Shadowcasters. Ride and jump over the big vase and into the next area. If you make it this far you're almost certain to be "home". Watch out for the Scarab boss, you can dodge him by either riding left or right around his little building. 3) The most frustrating and dangerous part is the jump onto the reset spot at Zum'rah. Instinctively you want to run up the little sand slope and jump up nearest to the corner - DONT! You'll often get stuck and then get killed right on the edge of the safe spot. If you look at Arlaeus, he actually jumps up at the very right side edge of the skull figure at the building. The wall looks higher here, but you will get up here 90% of the time. And take it easy - you need to practice this jump to be able to make it consistently. Once here mobs should reset. If a caster has followed up right up to the corner it might not reset. Then you need to jump up the skull thing and onto the wall. You might take a hit or two, but it's no problem. The skull is easy to jump. 4) When you think you're ready to pull the zombies from the grave you're actually NOT! Take a breather and mark the two trolls who patrol into the GY from the other areas. These trolls can be casters or ranged, and if you pull them along with the zombies you're dead unless you pull off a new reset (which you can do, by trying to get back onto the walls around Zum-rahs temple). Mark the patrols and time your pulls when they've gone. If it's your first time don't open all the graves. Do a split pull - just open one section of graves and do the jump-dance with them. That way you wont get overwhelmed by mobs who fall behind / get in front as easy. Once you get the feeling of the jumping between the two sections of the walls between blizzards you're ready to pull more. 5) You can fall down when jumping towards the small section of wall, but you're 99% fecked if you fall jump back to the long wall section where you use blizzard. Take your time to adjust you caharcter so your face is pointing slightly to the left of the corner you're jumping past. You wont hit the corner and fall down, you kinda bend around it when jump near to it. Remember to get +minor speed on boots for easier jumps. And take a few steps back on the little wall before jumping back to blizzard position - that way you succeed more easily. If something goes awry when on the walls you can jump down into the graveyard and run back to the reset spot and try again. 6) Watch out for Zum'rah. Sometimes Zum-rah will not aggro when you run around his roof. Then you're in the safe. But watch out you don't overdo the jumps and fall down into the whole behind the corner where Arlaeus jumps. It's a little difficult to get back up from there - not impossible, but very stressful with the mobs comming for you. If you pull Zum'rah hurry down the long wall part - he will eventually run back and reset. If he doesn't, but instead follows the zombies up on the wall, you need to jump back down and go to the reset spot at the skull near the bottom of his temple. The zombies will actually sometimes follow you across the roof of Zum'rahs little temple. Very rarely though. Just jump down and reset again. 7) Adapt that mindset from the start, that this is an exploit you need to learn through hard work. If you're one of the 1% who just instantly get this shit right - GRATS and fu. If not - you need to die a lot before you get it right. But you will do eventually! Don't dispair. You will have a lot of unjust deaths and rage about it. Calm down and get back on the horse. The reward is worth the effort. My first ever completion of this I found an epic ring (Ring of Saviors) on the first mob. You'll get a ton of gold from this apart from the exp. Sure you'll feel like you're wasting 1-2 days depending on how quickly you learn the jumps, but those days are well worth the time! I found it extremely hard at level 40, hard at level 41 and easy'ish at level 42. Those two levels make a huge difference in regards to how many mobs you can avoid pulling on your way to the GY. Good luck and remember - hard work pays off :) A newly succesful GY farmer

Undead mages be advised: 42+ must mean greater than because you cannot start Marin Noggenfogger's quest at 42. You will likely have to learn to get onto the wall reset spot reliably (quite difficult).
@Myskully144 жыл бұрын
Hey just letting you know this because I've never seen you mention it... there is a much easier reset spot in the Scarab room. As soon as you enter the room go up to the "island" and go behind the pots closest to you. Can do this mounted as well. It's much easier and faster then trying to jump on top of the pot on the far side of the island. Ive done this pull at 40 a few times. Its much easier at 41. No mana issues at all. However... more than half of my run is spent getting to the graveyard. I'm doing this in a group of 3 mages (started at level 40. Now level 42 and 2 of them are me dual boxing (no programs)) so we don't want to use invisibility pots. 2g per pot... 2 pots per person... 6 pots per run. Its very expensive for us. So far the only reliable way we have gotten to the GY is by clearing all mobs up until the T intersection on our mains. Takes about 20 minutes. Mounting doesn't work. We don't get far. We get further by running on foot together and rotating novas and other abilities but still we die before the first reset. No strategy we have come up with has worked without at least 1 of us dying... which is why we clear with our mains. If we could avoid that we could double the number of runs we do or perhaps even more. Can you give any advice to accomplish this without consumables? Thanks... and sorry for my long windedness.
