Some slight addendums that will help future players that do this farm, especially using the alt trick. I used to main a Warrior that mined, but even well geared this would be tough for melee... however it was easy on a warlock who herbed and enchanted. I'd clear the bosses with her, use the same juggle tactics shown here just dot things up and let them die. Even easier than a mage. Any ranged class could do this. If shards and chanting supplies sell well on your realm, this is a decent way to add to the $ potential by disenchanting the boss drops you don't need. Locks can even use enslave to make things a little more fun in there. Just saying. If poorly geared on a lock, use a Demonic Sacrifice spec (I use DS/SL for maximum regen and DoTs) and sac a voidwalker for insane health regen, that OFC a lock can turn into mana. Makes this a piece of cake. Just juggle to regain resources at need. 1. you don't HAVE to kill the imps to get your miner to the thorium. Once they trigger, if you run out of center area before they appear the boss won't leave the center and you can hop up on the edge to reset everything. (Skull of Impending Doom is an easy quest item that gives you a speed boost to sprint out and anyone can get it) I would pause when he was just above 50%, lure him to the very back, trigger the skull and run while re-dotting him. The imps come at 50%, so the idea is have him drop below while you are sprinting, and the imps and packs won't aggro you in time to kill you before you reset them all. 2. Once you are out of combat on the clear character, just log out and into the gatherer you dont have to leave the instance with the killer. With your miner, run down and peek over the side of the arena, aggro the imps (they will their area is huge) jump to the floor and lure them up to the top. When they are all right about to get you, jump up on the ledge again and be ready, as soon as you drop combat jump down and into the tunnel. At full HP you should easily survive jumping directly down from above the tunnel entrance. You can run up the tunnel and out of line of site before they finish resetting. Boom, you are safe and can mine. When you are done, run out with the miner and around but DONT re-enter the instance. Reset the instance, since you should be party leader by now due to time and your killer character will spawn back at the entrance of the instance since they were still inside when reset. Immediately ready to go again.

I really hate guide pretending playing 2 characters at once is a viable method for any normal player.

Paired my old Logitech G600 with my new Razer Tartarus V2. Definitely changed my tanking potential in WoW! The initial mapping setup for both is an absolute pain IMO, but once it's setup, you'll never look back. Just small tweaks here and there when needed. People still use WASD? Haven't used keyboard movement since original Vanilla when I learned how to move with mouse keys/turning and hot-keyed autorun in TBC/WotLK. Only use S for back-peddling, rarely, pending on the mechanic/situation. Only use the keyboard (Razer Blackwidow Mini Hyperspeed V3 Phantom Edition) for typing now, as it's wireless and has an On/Off switch to conserve longtime battery life.

losing 75% of your health as a 60 showing how to aoe farm is a little dubious. I am watching for ideas for hardcore and your farming doesn't seem very clean at all.

So... Doing this no longer words, sadly. I think due to the recent SoD update as of Sept, if nerfed how the mobs path. Which really sucks, cause I'm new to AoE farming and was looking forward to farming SM. CATH Specifically now has snare effects from mages in here that use fire spells to snare/ slow you and the jump from the fountain back onto the grass at the doesn't work. The mobs don't run around and path like in the video </3

Late on this but do no spec into fireball. Spec into arcan tree to prevent resists. Also implement first strike on top of arcane explosion. This video is a bad guide except the hyperspawn location.

Your route would not have worked for a level 54, Death Lashers have a big agro radius.

Great guide! Just wanted to comment regarding trying this in SoD: Most of the mobs in the pack can only be slowed by Blizzard once, if at all, so it isn't anywhere near as smooth and easy as this vid. Instead, you can use Living Bomb to kill them. Cast it 3 or 4 times then make the jump, cast it 3 or 4 times, then jump again, repeat. You will likely kill many of them on the steep slope so you won't be able to loot them, but if you are concerned about the loot, just practice your timing and plan for where they're going to be when Living Bomb detonates.

This method was just nerfed. You cant make the mobs run like that anymore when you AOE them down.

Still works in SoD, male gnomes can get through the door it just takes a series of jumps onto invisible ledges.. video "WoW BRD Shadowforge Skip MALE GNOME" by Amir shows it. No speed enchants or anything necessary.

all in all, its a neat trick and it makes you money and some cloth, if any of you are angry or can't quite master it - welcome to how gaming was in the 90's and early 2000's before everything got dumbed down and watered down, there was no hand holding in games back then, no handholding here, real hardcore! :) still works in sept 2024, but theres quite a few little tricks and niggles you have to figure out by yourself that arent mentioned in the video. first of all, trying to jump on the graveyard corner near the boss got me killed a few times untill i realized you have to run into the wall, step back a little, then just jump and while in mid-air press W to go forward and land on the ledge. it will get you up every time. i spent like 5 runs dying trying to jump from far away, trying to run into the wall and jump+w at the same time etc, none of these work. also the safe spots arent always 100% safe and wont reset mobs, sometimes u gotta shield up, run back to get the mobs to move, then blink back. also blizzarding the gathered mobs at the end can be tricky, if you do it in a bad spot you can get half the mobs dying on the side of the mountain and they wont be reachable to loot, its tricky but you gotta kill em on the wall coming to you, not the mountain.
