Arlington is pretty much its own town like the Northside, Southside and Westside. It's another big chunk of Duval county

Arlington was actually a city before Jacksonville annexed it when the city consolidated in 1968,Jacksonville is the largest city in area(overc740 Square miles) if the mainland US,largest populated city in Florida, should hit over 1,000,000 people later this decade.Bunnell is the second largest city in area with about 140 square miles larger than Tampa or Orlando, they annexed alot of agriculture and forested area, the City has only has about 3,000 people.

I am just glad latinos are moving in, because those houses were gotta rot to crap soon if people didnt move in the same can be said about the vacant buildings. Since 2018 its improved alot.

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS I’m sorry normally I agree with your comments but on this one you are incorrect. Arlington has NOT improved since 2018, it has gotten MUCH worse. Florida native who grew up in the Arlington/Fort Caroline area that has watched the steady decline.

At 17:13 ...On right side just past Lillian Rd was the old Arlington movie theater. Used to go there a lot as a kid in the 70s. 17:33 Yellow Bldg was Arthur Treachers Fish and chips. Years later they left and across the street at Rogero and Arlington Rd was Long John Silvers. Now, Domino's it looks like. Rogero is pronounced ''Row-hair-Oh'' in case y'all didn't know... But as kids, We called it ''Roger---Oh''.... Lol

26:26 Jax Uni was further north up University right past apartment complex you turned into and went back to Rogero to Cesery..... That whole area has gone downhill for years, resembles Blanding and 103rd St.... But University is narrower.

I grew up in Arlington in the mid-late 70s. Our home was in University Park... just past Ft. Caroline Rd. on University Blvd. I would love to see the area go through a major revitalization. Jacksonville University was just past where you turned around on Univeristy Blvd. You were just a few feet from the southern border of the campus.

My first mall! My parents would take me there for dinner at the Piccadilly restaurant! We’re talking 1970-73. They had amazing fried chicken and green beans! My favorite restaurant was Patti’s Italian restaurant. It opened in 1951 on Beach Blvd which wasn’t even paved yet! I actually drove up from Orlando when I heard they were closing! The food was still great! That was 30 years ago!!

First called Villa De Palmas...or De Palmer.... But not sure. Its online some where. He had one if the townhouse apts...on the river supposedly.

Why did you turn around on University after you passed Kelly’s Music store? It opened 60 years ago! That’s why the original Arlington looks like it does. A lot of these commercial buildings are in disrepair and it costs too much to knock’em down and rebuild. The areas surrounding Arlington are much newer and look it. There were many great restaurants and things to do when I grew up there in the 70’s.

crime and violence in JAX is out of this world. you BETTER not end up in the city core. Go towards the beaches or as close to these as you can afford or st johns county. try to be east of the st johns river. east of 295 if you can afford it. basically anything INSIDE of 295 loop is bad except a few places. get closer to downtown or west of it.. gangland
