Even when he screams it sounds genuine. Most people who react to reveals scream about every little thing, likely to get more clicks and be in compilation videos. Arlo's screams during the Metroid Dread reveal felt like genuine surprise and happiness.

Pikmin 3 wasn't even out 10 years ago. It's been 7 years since that interview, and even then he said "the next Pikmin game" and the media took that to mean Pikmin 4. That game was Hey! Pikmin which *was* nearing completion then. Before you bring up the other article where Miyamoto clarified that Hey! Pikmin isn't Pikmin 4; exactly. Hey! Pikmin was never Pikmin 4, but it *was* the next Pikmin. Pikmin 4 was something else, that did exist, but was not the game that was nearing completion in 2015

@@NamekianG not saying you're wrong, because I don't think you are, but because of how close Hey! Pikmin's release was at the time of the interview, it wasn't unreasonable to assume that Hey! Pikmin was already complete, and in the process of being published and distributed. It was reasonable to assume that the game nearing completion wasn't the same game currently being published, and was a different one. Obviously, the media chose to interpret it in the way that would get the most clicks, but their interpretation was somewhat justified.

Seeing Arlo cry over Pikmin 4 is one of the most heartwarming things I've ever seen on KZbin. Absolutely worth it to play 3 Deluxe if you have a Switch. You don't need to have played 1 or 2, plus there are new side stories with Captain Olimar and Louie from 1 and 2 so you can have a taste of their characters. My favorite will always be the Pikmin 1. It's the most replayable to me, charming, and unique... On the Wii. The Wii remaster/port is the definitive Pikmin 1

I think also it was because of the roller coaster that was the Pikmin Bloom talk, so he had some time to wonder "Are they showing it or not?" whereas the Metroid Prime 4 announcement came out of nowhere.

I love that the clouds form a smiley face at the end of the opening animation. This reaction was everything I wanted and more. As one of only two people in my life that love Pikmin, I wanted more people to freak out with. Watching your reaction and reliving my own torture and excitement with you. Perfection. @@DaveFurbush Kinda did and that game is amazing but there's something special about the mario universe that isn't matched by Bug Fables. Not to say But Fables' universe is bad, it's amazing!!! Just not the same as Mario's universe and it would be great to have the depth of Bug Fables with a Mario aesthetic and characters.

I've never played Pikmin but hearing Arlo talk about this for so long even i got emotional watching this rn. That was so wholesome and reminds me of when I got the stuff I really wanted like sora in smash

Oh man I felt all of this. Gotta say though, you handled this way better than I did Arlo. I was...animated...during this part of the Direct. Miyamoto did this to us on purpose. The starting with the Mario movie and Nintendo World nothing updates, the mentioning Pikmin being in development like it was just another "we're still working on it" non-announcement, then immediately going into Bloom blather for what felt like a day and a half, then they announce it like they knew what we were all really here for, then it's just a logo and couple seconds of a still scene with some Bulborbs in the background so you know what game it's from, then he knows we're gonna be like "that's it?!" so he gives us the tiniest detail and a screenshot and promises he's revamped the controls, and then he checks out, like all of our brains did, and then they go right into Just Dance so that we have a few minutes to recover while a trailer no one cares about plays. Then knew exactly what they were doing, every step of the way. It was elaborately planned to screw with Pikmin fans, because they're totally aware of what we've been through, how tired we all are, and they just think it's hilarious. I was yelling pretty loudly at Miyamoto through that Bloom nonsense, pretty sure the neighbors heard me. "Miyamoto, you can't do this to us! Yes, we get it, you wish more people played Pikmin Bloom, it's very nice, but I swear to God if you came on here just to talk about a phone game that released almost a year ago, there's going to be some trouble, it's not going to be pretty, you HAVE to announce Pikmin 4 after this Miyamoto, or so help me, this will be the last straw, I will snap!" Then as the minutes dragged on with Bloom and I began to lose hope and think that Miyamoto had really just stopped in to talk about his old phone game, I got a lot less family friendly. What an absolute over the top troll from Miyamoto. When they finally announced 4, I totally lost it. I don't care what anyone says about the farm games, I don't even care about the Zelda update even though my online identity is named after the series. This Direct will be one of the most memorable ever for me because of this epic troll announcement of PIkmin 4. Nothing of substance to show us after a decade of development, just a logo with a 4 after it, could have been as forgettable as the Metroid Prime 4 announcement that was basically the same in that regard, but they made it really memorable with what I swear had to be a totally self-aware, super meta trolling of the fanbase.
