Agreed! In LM3 they really stretched the mansion concept to cover all sorts of themed floors (which was great) but it makes me feel like instead of doing LM4 they should do something new a la “Luigi Land” or “Luigi’s Castle”. I love the character of Luigi so much. He's happy to let his brother take the spotlight but is really supportive of him, he's terrified all the time but despite that still does the things that scare him in order to save his friends, in Odyssey when you put the wedding dress on Mario his only comment is that he's upset he didn't get invited to the wedding...he's just great.

I think it'd finally be a cool way to incorporate Daisy into a Luigi game since they're always shown to have some sort of connection. Imagine King Boo and Hellen Gravely take over Daisy's castle in Sarsasaland and Luigi has to save her, and the castle becomes this huge, GIANT haunted area you get to explore the whole game. Sort of like the first LM on the gamecube but like 5x as big so the game is way longer.

Like, why is there an entire floor dedicated to the pirate theme while having a goddamn ocean in it? I dont care who you are, that wouldn't work in any multistory structure, and because of this, the game's immersion is pretty fucked now. I beat the game thinking, "how has all that sand, water, plant matter, and other shit not completely collapsed this 15 story building that seems pretty old?" otherwise, great game

Heck, the development of one such weird spin off was what caused them to bring the hammer down on Mario spin offs in the first place, now everything needs to pass the Nintendo code of honor if you can believe that's a thing. If we get a new strikers title, expect it to be devoid of everything people loved about it, at the very least no Mario characters making obscene gestures or Mario characters beating the shit out of each other.

On the topic of Scarescraper, one thing I really missed from Dark Moon was the entrees on each ghost you caught in the main game, and even the scarecraper special boss ghosts had special descriptions. Not only that, but instead of the boring monochrome texture changes the special ghosts got in 3, Dark Moon at the least game them all more creative texture changes, making some look like fruit, animals, professions, e.t.c. Sure, it wasn't the most effortful thing, but it was a lot more than 3 had and it is definitely one area I really think 3 is lacking in, a bigger drive to collect.

Not only that but the bosses in 2 actually felt like bosses, usually having one or two big ghost with endlessly spawning ghosts in the background. 3's felt like another battle you have to do with slight changes. Also if they bring back the Scarescracper in 4, I really hope they remove that button that everyone's has to stand on(Including their gooigis) in order to open a door.

I’d love to see any of this happen. I was too young and never played the original until the 3ds remake, but I started with Dark Moon and I loved it. Sure the ghosts weren’t scary, but they had a charm to them and as a younger kid, some of the bosses I remember being hard and remember how fun they were with the second world boss being literal stairs, the three sisters mini boss, the world 5 fight against the suits of armor, and the gauntlet on top of the clockworks. Then 3 rolled around with the charm I loved from Dark Moon with the things people wanted from the original (I.e. unique boss ghosts and a singular building) and this game was a no questions needed from me and clearly millions agree with this. Hope they do something with the Luigis mansion, but seeing who the development team is, I know they won’t let us down

I'd honestly love if they used Luigi mansion to parody horror films and games. So like one game have him stuck in a camp with a Jason like enemy with a mechanic to save "campers" but cute the thing up so it's not too dark like it's an overall huggy ghost who steals people to play cmap games with. Maybe each boss is a lesser form of this or a camp counselor like ghost. And then a game where he is on a space ship against an alien like creature. I prefer the original where it felt like the game was a horror title that happened to make enemies cute. It was a neat atmosphere of horror environments with cute enemies to keep it from scaring kids

I've actually been thinking about a concept for Luigi's Mansion 4. I think it would be cool to go back to the multiple mansion concept and turn it into a large open-world adventure where you explore a whole haunted kingdom. In outdoor environments, the camera will be a bit more flexible and have a more open feel, while inside areas keep the classic "looking into a dollhouse" angle. I actually had a dream where I was playing a Luigi's Mansion game where you explore these haunted woods and swampland and you need to climb up this giant tree and meet these friendly wooden creatures obscured by hoods. Also, I had the idea where they put out a collection with remastered versions of the first two games and LM3 added on to it. There's a lot of potential for Luigi's Mansion

I want a whole haunted Town. Maybe even semi open as in you can tackle different areas first A bunch of smaller mini home style houses all packed together, a shopping mall or department store, an old mine, an oil tanker or something sitting in the town's harbor, all funneling into exploring the massive mansion that dominates the town skyline Plus like how in the first game you could figure out how the ghosts died you could figure out how the town became a ghost town, like the mine dried up so many people had to leave, the oil tanker had a massive spill so even more people leaved stuff like that

I really hope they do many more. As said there is so much potential. A haunted amusement park, a haunted museum (expand on Hotel from 3 with exhibits instead of floors), haunted village (be similar to Dark Moon with having multiple buildings, house/manors/pub/castle, but open world vs just transporting into each house.) and many more ideas, haunted seaside resort, etc. would also love to see an interactive dark ride at one of the parks themed to it where you suck up the ghosts

I agree. Making a big Luigi's Mansion franchise would be awesome! Not only would we see more creepy, maybe even insane, ghost adventures with Luigi, not only could we see some amazing adaptations like movies or tv-shows, not only would the merchandise go trough the roof, but Luigi could be even more popular than he has ever been before and be recognized as a true video game icon.

I got into the series right before 3 came out and scooped up both Dark Moon and the 3DS port of the original. As much as I like the series, I think a lot of 3's success is tied to the success of the Switch. Has any major 1st or 2nd party game NOT sold well on the system? Just trying to be realistic, but I hope you are right and the series sees more regular releases going forward.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon was the 12th best selling 3DS game, selling more than Kirby Triple Deluxe and Fire Emblem Awakening combined It's a major Nintendo IP now

But the 3DS also sold tremendously well and Dark Moon was the first game after a 12-year absence, so that naturally pumped up sales, I think. I don't know, I could be totally wrong, and I kind of hope I am. Call me optimistic, but only very cautiously.

In addition to the grounded Mushroom Kingdom, the wealth of very well done storytelling cutscenes in Luigi's Mansion pushes it beyond most other first party Nintendo works featuring these characters. The game *oozes* charm. The Mario cast of characters is one people are deeply attached to and we get so few opportunities to see them interacting the way they do in Luigi's Mansion 3. I loooove rescuing the Toads because you see (not much) but way more character dimension as the Toads are excited to see Luigi and they're high-fiving each other and rejoicing. You see Luigi being a caring dude, not just the one dimensional weirdo/scaredy-cat Sakurai likes to paint him as.

Luigi's mansion deserves such numbers. It is such a beautiful and relaxing game. I only had one little problem (which is not a problem at all, it is just a suggestion) with the game. You earn a lot of money in the game, but you can only spend it on hints and revive. It would be better to spend it on new items or upgrades, that would allow you to find or reach new places.

I didn't even have Nintendo consoles growing up (SEGA, then Playstation and Xbox), but even I had very fond memories of playing the first Luigi's Mansion at a friend's house, and those memories carried me forward all the way to release day of LM3, which I bought on special edition pre-order as a result of them! This is easily one of Nintendo's best and most unique series

Regarding shows and movies... it's worth remembering that Final Fantasy The Spirits Within essentially bankrupted Squaresoft, and forced them to merge with Enix. They struck while the iron was hot, and got burned. There are some serious financial risks inherent in big media projects.
